I’m a fan of Willy B’s when it comes to their drinks. There’s usually always a good drink special going on which is what sets them apart from others. It’s a locals type of place. Their food is mediocre at best with room to improve. There’s many dishes that are«good» but the last visit we were let down. The open face sandwich was smothered in cheap gravy(and the roast beef was bottom shelf). I had to take it back; it was the first time I ever had to return food at a restaurant as I’m pretty easy to please. The wings are baked, and this time around the wings were so mushy that we would never order them again. I remember taking my fork and just«laying» it on top of the wing and it would pierce right through with just the weight of the fork. Being«baked» doesn’t have to mean«mushy». You can easily broil the wings after they have cooked through to give them a better finish. Our waitress was really helpful and she gave us the wings for free since she noticed that we didn’t eat much of the food. Because of this kind act, I definitely will return, but I’m still a little weary of ordering food again. Stick to the simple foods there(dry sandwiches) and you’ll be satisfied. Stay away from the wings(grab the tacos instead) and the open-faced sandwich.

Good beer selection on draft and nice happy hour prices, when I was there it was very busy so service was sub par, the wings were without exaggeration the worst I have ever had, soggy flour dipped and what appeared to be oven baked and flavorless, barely any sauce did not help situation. have heard the other food here is good just not the wings…

Food is alright. Beer is alright. Service is better in the daytime. Mold on my growler lid. Not ok. Ate here a few times. I won’t be back.

I love Willi B’s — It has some very tasty food, lots of great choices of booze, and some of the best staff out of any bar I have ever been to. I really mean it when I say, do not miss this place, it’s such a wonderful bar. Especially on Thursdays if you’re ready to try out the toughest trivia in Boise.

That was some crisp beer… Really cold and tasty Daggar IPA. The service was a bit cold and mediocre with a side of «whadda ya want» It was probably because I was interrupting their night of drinking behind the bar with my paying to get beer in front of the bar. Very me, me, me, I, I, I type service. The bar knows that it’s a local sports bar and doesn’t try to be something they’re not. The menu is a bit schizophrenic; however, the food my friend and I had was pretty good. I got an avocado burger, with cheddar ad bacon and it was tasty. Not the best, but just good. The potato salad was stored in its container warm and served cold. Because of this, it had about 3oz of water from the condensation at the bottom, so I didn’t eat it because it may have been 100*F for hours for all I know. The burger was good though…

Lots of fun. We are staying at the hotel next to the bar. Walked over on a Thursday night and it was trivia night. Had a great time. Really friendly staff. Drinks priced right. Bar food was good and priced right too. Win. Win. Win.

My boyfriend and I went there for the first time last night. We were drawn in by the promise of live blues and $ 0.50 hot wings. The blues definitely did not disappoint, and the hot wings weren’t okay. My boyfriend loved them because they weren’t fried. Maybe I am just more partial to the fried, but I thought the sauces were a bit thin. At $ 0.50 per wing though, they aren’t too shabby. I also ordered their pork street tacos and I have to say those were worth every penny. I was pretty impressed with the meat to tortilla ratio and it all had a great flavor for a non-Mexican food restaurant. The waitress was very nice and attentive and I thought the appetizer and beer prices were pretty great. We will definitely be returning next time they have another blues band. .

WilliBs Saloon is a great local bar. Hang with friends, listen to live music, even open mic night if you dare! Food is fabulous home cooked! Where else can you get fresh open faced turkey sandwich REALTURKEY and its not even Thanksgiving! Throw that turkey in a wrap with avocado YUM! Drinks are priced well and beer is always cold. Staff are friendly and welcoming! Happy to have them as our new local Saloon in West B for the past year!

I’ve been to WilliB’s a couple times when they were on 5th in Boise, the last time just before they moved and was happy to hear of their new location. Since then I’ve been there with my wife and friends. I’ve always had an overall good experience with food, service and prices; where else can you get PAYETTEPALE for $ 3.50 for most of the day. Food portions are very generous and priced right compared to other similar establishments. I consider the the food to be «comfort food», what you might have grown up with at home. When the place is full it gets loud but no more than anyplace else, if you want an intimate romantic fancy setting you might want to try someplace else. I much prefer a laid back comfortable setting to relax in. I’ll be back maybe today for lunch.

I travel over 50% of the time for my job so I spend a lot of time in restaurants and WilliB’s is one of the most comfortable and fun places I have ever been. There is always something to do, great music, and the food is wonderful. The food is made from scratch, the prices are awesome. A few of my favorites are the French Swiss Dip and the Chicken Salad served as a salad. It is served in avocado cups and is just fantastic! I also love the turkey salad, you can tell that the turkey is freshly make in their kitchen. The cheesecakes are without a doubt the best! Service is wonderful too… when I go to WilliB’s I feel like I’m at one of my best friend’s home… that’s how they treat you. Give them a try if you are looking for home cooking and a friendly, easy going atmosphere. Oh… and bring the kids, they are welcome until later in the evening and this place is that friendly and clean.

Go elsewhere. I will say the wings are good but for the most part the food is over-priced and isn’t good. The waitresses are consistently surly and don’t want to be there. Because of it’s great location I really wanted to like this place.

I had been meaning to try Willi B’s when they were downtown, but this location on Chinden is so much more convenient! At lunch today I tried the avocado chicken salad wrap. It was very good! I chose the white chicken chili as the side. I was nervous about the spiciness(extra-mild is sometimes too spicy for me). The server was very gracious about my hesitation and said that if I didn’t like it, I could get something different. I tried it and liked it. There was even a cute little cornbread muffin. Hubby had a meatball sandwich on ciabatta. The ciabatta was yummy bread, but it wasn’t toasted… leaving it to soak up what little sauce there was on the meatballs. He ordered his without peppers & onions, but the first sandwich came with them anyway. The server was sweet about replacing it. Drinks were kept full. Hubby’s lemonade didn’t taste good, however. By the way: What’s the deal with Fritos? There was a Frito on my chili and Fritos were even a choice of side.
