A few months ago, I had my daughter at st lukes. Since this was my first child, I was a bit scared to go into labor, but everyone was great. My water broke in the middle of the night so we had to go in to the hospital then. There were several other women in labor so they called in a nurse for me and she got there pretty quickly. I was in labor well into the next day so I went through several nurse changes. They were always great about letting me know what was going on when a new nurse came in. The real stars were the nurses on the post partum floor. They were great about teaching me things I didn’t know and making sure my daughter and I were comfortable and well taken care of. I know that one day when I have another child, I will be choosing to go to at lukes again for the delivery.

Hospitals… Just not a big fan. But who is? I’m the first person to complain about the rising health care costs. And how unbelievably expensive everything is. Which it is! BUT… When you have an emergency late on a Saturday night how great is it that their are people that are there to help with anything life will throw at us? I know I’m guilty of taking them for granted. All the staff at St Luke’s were wonderful. Everyone had compassion and explained things as we went. And it was the the middle of the night. I could never be this upbeat or compassionate all night long. It takes very special people in my opinion to work in a hospital and do what they do for us! My little buddy was scheduled for emergency surgery at midnight. The Dr was having a difficult time with the surgery before us, so he was not able to get him in untill 3:30. The real life super hero came in after working god know how long and reassuring us that he would take good care of my buddy! And he did just that! We are all so lucky to have super hero’s among us. Nurses.. I’m not a big hugger. But I think every day should be huge a nurse day. And I know some of you are thinking. And yes they were all super cute! And half of them were guys. Yep and they two were awesome. And I have no problem hugging them as well. Just sayin! So I will never complain about hospital food again. It’s all In prospective now for me. God bless all the people that take care of us when we need them. Now go hug a nurse! :)
