What a great experience! I had the Coho Salmon dinner. It was cooked perfectly. I sat at the bar and talked with several friendly people. The beers were great. I was looking for a Scotch ale, at first I was bummed because its seasonal. So, I tried the Seven Devils Imperial Stout and it was really nice, with hints of bourbon and vanilla… Not overpowering. Again what a nice experience. I’ll be back!

Love this place, location(close to our house), awesome friendly services, and good ambiance for family and friends to relax, enjoy the varieties of great beer and food. I really liked the cream ale beer. My boys love their burgers. I enjoyed the fish dishes. The 1 thing that was not good was the TV in our booth. It was broken. We could have watched the big game at that time in our private booth. I hope they fix it.

The server was very friendly and nice but the food was just very subpar. Probably a good place to have beers but if you’re looking for good food I would steer you somewhere else

Not very good service. Stood there for a while waiting to be seated. So that didn’t happen. Just seated myself. I think the layout of the place is strange. Maybe if they improved that it would help with flow and service.

Went to Sockeyes last night corner of Cole & Ustick, staff didn’t seem enthusiastic with their jobs, If Sockeyes is not happy we came in I’m not happy I came in either. The place should feel special like it use to not like another sad restaurant near the airport, sorry.

Came on a Monday night and left feeling really unimpressed. The décor here is so so… but they do have an adequate outdoor sitting area on warm evenings. The servers were running busy, but they took care of you. My nachos were nothing great, they were ok. Ordered chicken on my nachos, but they came out with beef. I didn’t complain, I was hungry and the waitress was busy. My friend had the IPA… again he was unimpressed. This place has a strong local following, but as a visitor I won’t be back here.

Ate here with a group during a work trip in January, as I like to check out places sure to have their own local beers. Service was good, beer was great, and food was great. The sockeye salmon cakes were awesome! Everyone in the group also seemed to enjoy their food. And, good news for the fellow beer pint glass collector — they’re only $ 2! Would definitely recommend eating here if you get the chance.

Really great dinner the other night with the family — busy, but still had great service. Local band was there playing as well — totally a great atmosphere.

Love this place! Bartenders and wait staff are exceptional. Food is great. My teenage daughter picks this place anytime she wants to go out for a cheeseburger. She argues they are the best in Boise. Beer selection is phenomenal one of the few local breweries I keep in my fridge at home.

As my wife noted right after we left, this place is in love with the microwave. Brewpub cheese with their brews? Good. Superheated microwaved Superpretzel to go with it? Not so good. Ok, I can forgive 1 thing, I guess… except wife’s nachos were also heavily over-microwaved and my son’s corndog not far behind. His fries were very potatoe-y and pretty crisp, so no issues there. Raging Red beer was over-hopped and the Porter not so very good. Had to bail on that one. I also had the mango-habanero shrimp, which was grossly over-sweetened, but otherwise acceptable. The breaded steak finger things were also acceptable, but really REALLY needed cheese in there with the steak. Pretty much everything here was a miss, sometimes a near-miss to be sure. I was wondering why a brewpub, particularly one from such a popular beer, would be so empty on a football Sunday and after eating there, didn’t wonder any longer. Maybe they do some other thing better; a lot of the menu items certainly have promise, but only if they discard however many microwaves they have back there first. Execution is very wanting here and even the relatively competent service, which we had, can’t make up for those kinds of misfires. Definitely better options in town and were it not for the friendliness of the wait staff, this is a 2.

was stuck in the Boise airport for an hour tried the sockeye IPA. Slightly cloudy but within current acceptability range. Aroma slight citrus and sweet. hop forward with a lingering finish to the bitter that fades nicely. a little sweeter than most ipas but very nice balance to the persistent hops. will swing by the brewery for a looksee just based on this. overall a very enjoyable ipa

Was super good! Beer was good as well. Service was great and seemed like a really great place to eat inside or out. My burger was really good and fries were plenty. Great job

Great food & patio. We sat on the patio, it’s completely shaded and very comfortable. Our food was really good, I had a Thai chicken wrap and my friend had a French dip, he inhaled it. I’d come here again, nice place. Only thing I’d say is the women’s bathroom could use a makeover.

Let me just say this. All I of their beer is amazing! I don’t even like IPAs, but I can respect the ones here. Best fish and chips on town, and the golden ale tastes like a budwieser done right! Everything here is awesome!

In Boise for an annual roller derby event — and I am definitely going to eat here again next year! Food was excellent. I had the salmon strip appetizer — glad I didn’t get the entrée because I seriously got about 7 – 8 good sized pieces. Sweet potato fries were great. My husband got the salmon club sandwich and salad. There was absolutely nothing left of his meal. Our server Christy, was attentive and friendly. Didn’t get to try their beer as we were travelling — next time! Also, my husband is a non-drinker so is a bit of an iced tea snob. He liked it so well he wanted refills, which rarely happens at restaurants! Way to go Sockeye!

Came here on a Tuesday night for a little brew, a little pub grub, and a little live music. And, had more than a little fun in the process. Ordered their classic nachos + black beans and pico to start. The server placed the plate on the table and my dining companion gasped, «whoa…they’re not messin’ around!» And, they aren’t my people. They are not messing around. Their nachos are an ample platter full and generously topped with guacamole and sour cream. Overall, the flavor was a solid 3-star-a-ok. A great dish to nibble on while the band(Like a Rocket) began to play. We also ordered their full draft sampler tray, which is a tray of 3 oz samplers of every beer they have on tap(12 beers in total). Highlights for me were their Woolybugger Wheat Ale(and not because the biggest fish I ever caught was with a woolybugger fly… that was just a bonus word reference), the Sockeye Power House Porter, and the Belgian Strong Ale. My dining companion enjoyed the espresso stout. After about an hour of sipping, sampling, nibbling, and alt-country listening, we ordered their Sockeye Salmon fish & chips. The salmon is dipped into Angel’s Perch Amber Ale batter and then golden fried. The fish was fabulous, the fries – *shrugs* – meh, just ok. I noticed later that they offer the salmon, prepared the same way, as an appetizer served without the fries which is definitely what I would do next time. The overall atmosphere is very casual and comfortable. The sort of place you instantly feel at ease in. The bartender provided our service(as our table was just a couple feet from the bar). He was friendly and attentive. Would love to come here when they have a band playing in the summer as they’ve got a pretty sweet patio space. Overall, about a 3.5 star experience. That said, it was definitely an experience I wouldn’t mind repeating! Get to it!

I tend to support anything that is local. That’s why I dig Sockeye Brewing. They have a beer for what ever your taste may be and they have sports on the TVs. Not to mention I walked in the door and Stairway to Heaven was playing on the stereo. If you’re in the area, Sockeye is a reliable spot to catch a brew.

Went here on a slow Sunday to watch some football with my girl. Picked up the six sampler. Beer was okay. I liked the Galena Gold and the Amber that they brew. I was not terribly impressed with the food. The finger steaks were literally large, thin steaks that were battered and crazy greasy. Pretty bad. The salmon tacos were alright but loaded beyond all belief with pineapple chutney that fell all over the place when I attempted to take a bite. The flavor was good but that’s the only thing I could say for it(my gf thought it was really bad). I probably won’t ever go back but I’ll pick up a 6-er of the Galena Gold at the store for sure.
