AMAZING Service, AMAZING Food — What a Great Experience! Honestly, I didn’t even know we still had a Skippers in Boise! We visited for lunch today and I was SO impressed. The warm, genuine greeting and willingness to help us make an informed decision on our order was such a welcome! Our food was steaming hot and so delicious — I forgot how much I love the Clam Chowder! The manager/owner was so attentive to our needs, checking on us, filling water, helping to keep our table tidy(without hovering). I did notice there was a young boy working, clearly the manager/owner’s son, and he was in uniform — all professional — and wiping down counters and gloving up to scrub the bathroom, and such. It really took me back to my own childhood — my parents owned 3 fast food restaurants and I spent many-a-day scraping gum from underneath tables and doing dishes before I could handle food and work the counter! A reviewer below thought that to be «weird,» and I couldn’t disagree more. It implements a strong work ethic and desire to succeed. So I say — Good for you Dad — Keep him scrubbing! Keep up the great work! I’ll spread the word and definitely be back. Cheers to a successful 2016 Boise Skippers!

Good food I had the fish and shrimp lunch special and a bowl of clam chowder. The chowder was really good not San Francisco or Spokane good but probably the best I have had in Boise. The shrimp had just the right amount of crunch and was flavorful unlike some experiences I have had were all you taste is the gooey breading nope I could definitely taste the star of the show. The cole slaw could have used a little more seasoning for my tastes but it was still good and fresh as in made fresh daily for your dining pleasure. The only thing I wasn’t impressed with was the fish and that may have only been because I didn’t care for the batter it was denser than I like but it could also be that fact that I just came back from the coast were I was treated to fresh from the boat fish and chips. Overall I really enjoyed the food and the device was spot on, fast friendly and suggestive which is always helpful for a first visit. I will definitely be back I am looking forward to more chowder and shrimp and maybe something new.

I absolutely love everything the owners of this place have done. Every time I come in I see something new that was done to make it so much more comfortable. It’s clean and the staff(manager) are so friendly and they always ensure you have everything you need to make it a pleasurable experience. I grew up coming here and it’s so nice to be able to come back here and enjoy a meal. I tip my hat to the owner and his staff. You’ve done such a great job with this joint. Thank you!

I’ve been eating at Skippers since I was a child. I’ve always loved Seafood and have always loved Skippers. When they left the area, I was sad, but I didn’t eat at them often. They had gone downhill. I would drive by the old, dilapidated skippers location on Fairview. It sat empty for a very long while. Eventually, it re-opened. On a whim, I went one day, and it was good. It had been re-vamped, and the food was as I remembered. It seems that it has even gone more upscale. All of the people wear Chef’s wraps, and it seems to be under newer management. When you walk in, you are greeted with a hearty welcome. You hear that genuine, we are glad you are here tone every time someone comes in. There is a broad selection, but the stand-bys are the fish and chips as well as clam chowder, which are always spot-on. I’ve had several other menu selections, and have not been disappointed. I’d call the food here, more of an up-scale fast food. It’s fast food, and a little more expensive than most others, but you get more. For one, the fish is spot on. For another their Clam Chowder is great again. How many other fast food restaurants(especially in Boise) serve good beers and wines? Honestly, I am not sure why we don’t eat here more often. I always forget about it, which is kind of a travesty. On the flip side, they are located near a lot of unique eating establishments, which makes it more difficult to really stand out. I am glad that Skippers is back. Walking in, the staff is friendly. And of course, the food is delicious.
