Literally the best sandwiches I’ve ever had!!! I’m so picky when it comes to your typical sandwich shop bit this place blows all the others out of the water. So fresh, high quality, and friendly staff! Can’t wait til they open another one closer to me! I do wish they were open past 7.

I think the manager of this place deserves a shout out. He is the nicest guy and always provides the most attentive customer service. I like the food, especially the Russian sandwich with the coleslaw on top. The soup is decent, too. Hits the spot on a cold day. But the guy, who I’m assuming is the manager, really goes out of his way for every customer. I’m not really the type to enjoy small talk with strangers, but I enjoy coming in here because he has such a warm personality and could seriously brighten anyone’s day.

Five star sandwhich. Bread is perfect for squeezing a sandwich. Very flavorful too. Nothing short of a great sandwhich. Had the turky and pastrami.

Definitely not the same as the eagle location where we have been eating for years. The plus is they are open on Saturdays. So far that is the only positive. The staff were completely out of their element and very disorganized. The cashier looked like she was about to cry as more and more customers came through the door. People sat waiting(looking around uncomfortably) for 30 to 40 minutes for their sandwiches. I was a customer and I felt bad for the entire room of customers. Just updated my stars from two to one. It took 45 min to get my sandwiches(to go) upon getting into my car and down the road I realized they forgot my favorite part of the sandwich. I went back asking them to fix. Got home with my husband and bit into a sandwich that was drenched on both sides of the bread with balsamic. A little balsamic on one side makes the sandwich great… Drenched on both sides of the bread makes it impossible to taste the bread or meat. We had to throw the sandwiches away. An hour of our time wasted not counting the 20 minutes it took to get there. We were totally and completely disappointed. Save yourself the time and disappointment. Go to the one on Eagle road during the week instead. We have learned our lesson.

Clean and has some San Francisco feel, sandwiches are huge and the salads have a lot of fresh ingredients. I tried the soup bread bowl, if you want clam chowder you have to come on Fridays. Sour bread and chicken noodle soap was good. I would say close to a good San Francisco bread bowl not being in SF.

If you like sourdough bread – especially the kind you can get in San Francisco – then this is the place for you. The sandwiches are all made on SF sourdough baguettes that are baked fresh daily. I have been getting sandwiches here about twice per month since they opened and the quality is consistent from visit to visit. One nice feature is that you can also pick up a baguette to go which is either already baked or brown and serve. If you like soup, they also have some very tasty soups that changes daily. And, for you clam chowder lovers, they have Ivars Clam Chowder on Fridays.

Discovered this gem of a sandwich shop by purchasing a Groupon deal. I can’t even begin to tell you how delicious the freshly baked sourdough bread is. The folks that work there are incredibly friendly, the selection of different sandwiches is outstanding, and they generously pile on the meat and toppings. I will NEVER eat another pathetic Subway sandwich again. Try the soup bowls too. Love this place, and the only downfall is they don’t deliver!

This is an awesome sandwich shop. The bread is delicious! Get a loaf to go home! Mark and his crew are always friendly. There is nothing like a fresh sandwich on warm Sourdough bread! Oh the smell when you walk in is heavenly. I would highly recommend giving it a try. They will deliver to your office if you are close by too! Order in people!

I was told this little shop had amazing sandwiches i ordered the number one«ham piled high» and added some extra veggies. Right away the first thing I noticed was their good service. The sandwich was pretty tasty and they even brought it to my table. Giving this place 4 stars!

My girlfriend and I had lunch from here. the bread is excellent, the meat is sliced paper thin, but there is an ample amount of it, since I enjoy lunch meat this way, its a plus. As for the two star reduction, although the sandwich looks delicious, the flavor is underwhelming. The PRICE is considerably more than what you get. I’m fine with paying more if I get more(flavor 1st, quantity 2nd). I will not be going out of my way to go back, unless they sell their bread for taking home.

I have been here a few times, and I think on a good day a sandwich from here is soo delicious, the bread is warm, the meat is plenty, and the vegetables are fresh. If you come in at the wrong time sadly the bread is rock solid, and the meat is clumped together. There is the down fall of the shops awkward arrangement it is small and cramped, but the employees are great and do what they can, even though they usually seem short handed . I thing if you are offering to go with 5 or less people in the shop you will be thoroughly pleased! Oh and if you want a healthier option the Greek salad is bomb.

I’m going to start off by saying there sourdough bread is incredibly delicious. I’ve been here twice so far and both times the sandwich’s were good. It does take around 10 minutes to get your sandwich but its worth the wait if your a fan of fresh sourdough bread. The first time i came here i tried the turkey and corned beef sandwich. It was a pretty tasty sandwich although it could use a little more meat. The second time around i ordered the ham, turkey and roast beef sandwich. Out of the two, I prefer the turkey and corned beef. I just think the meats worked good together. The sandwich’s are good but I feel like there missing something that would give them that Wow factor for me. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is though. There not my first choice for a sandwich but if I was in the area and I wanted a good sandwich, I would stop in. The bread alone is worth checking them out.

If you live, work or drive by San Francisco Sourdough Eatery, you should eat here! Mark and his crew will make you a FRESH sammy that’ll put a big smile on your taste-buds! This is a fantastic, very small chain(8 locations, I think), deli that serves up a great variety of classic deli sandwiches. The difference here… Your sandwich will be FRESH!!! The bread and all of its fillings, are prepped and made fresh each day. And, you gotta love that awesome sourdough flavor! I’ve been to SF Sourdough several times, and plan on going back… so Yay! I’m a fan.

Heard about this sandwich shop and since I lived for many year in the Bay Area I was eager to give it a try. I ordered the pastrami and coleslaw for me and the turkey with avocado for my husband. Both sandwiches were loaded with meat, cheese and corresponding ingredients. The sourdough was fresh and warm and brought back fond memories. Will definitely be back.

Upon approaching San Francisco Sourdough, nestled in a strip mall on Emerald, one could easily mistake it for another run-of-the-mill sandwich shop in a community full of them. One would indeed be mistaken. I walked through their front doors when I smelled it. *sigh* …home. Ok.ok…Boise, at this point, IS home. But, I was raised in the Bay Area and lived there until I struck out and moved to good ol’ B-town over a dozen years ago. And, my people, there is nothing that transports me home like the smell of fresh baked sourdough. I smell it, close my eyes, and there I am, sitting over a sourdough bread bowl filled with soup while listening to the sound of rain on pavement. And, my people, this is a smell one doesn’t tend to stumble across here in Boise. I’ve tried sourdough all over this valley and none of it comes close to what you get in San Francisco. Until now. How is this possible? I don’t exactly know. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that their sourdough starter was cultivated IN the Bay Area. From which, the dough is formed, frozen, and then delivered to San Francisco Sourdough Eatery here in Boise. So, when you order your sandwich, your bread will be baked fresh and served as warm as you, wrapped in a blanket, in front of a wood stove, on a cold winter’s eve. Which, is to say, really quite comfortably warm, indeed. I had sampled several of their sandwiches previously and so I knew what I wanted: The Pastrami with Coleslaw. That is to say, the coleslaw is ON the sandwich. Had I not tried it previously, I would never have thought to order it, but, it is amazing. Amazing! The coleslaw is just the right amount of creamy coolness, paired with the warm bread, warm pastrami, and melted Swiss. This sandwich is a game changer. I got the combo(they have 3 combo types: sandwich with salad & drink, sandwich with soup & drink, sandwich with chips and drink) and splurged on a sugar cookie for dessert. I didn’t expect much from the cookie… but surprisingly delicious and worth the splurge! The pastrami with coleslaw only comes in their large size, which was nice because, after having what felt like a hearty dinner, I still have half the sandwich that I shall be enjoying for lunch tomorrow! Ahhh…comfort food. Is my affection for this place based on some sort of whimsical, sensory, culinary walk down memory lane? Perhaps. Perhaps you too, would enjoy a little culinary journey to the Bay without ever leaving Boise. I know I did. And, will do so again. Often. Get to it!

There seem to be sandwich shops everywhere you turn these days. While Subway has lost a following since bailing on their«$ 5.00 Footlong», Jimmy John’s has come forth with good bread and truly FREAKY(IE: dangerous, OMG have you ever seen one of their drivers?) fast– it isn’t hard to find some meat and produce slapped between two pieces of bread. HOWEVER. faster isn’t always better. it’s just not. If we slow down for two seconds we MIGHT just find a sandwich that is worth waiting for. San Francisco Sourdough Eatery GIVES us that chance. A franchise, begun in Idaho, is offering Idaho residents some seriously edible NOMS that you really MUST try. This particular location, is in a strip(well not really a strip but a small complex adjacent to Boise Town Center) mall, near Taste of Thai and David’s Bridal. A storefront space, you can’t help but think it’s going to be cold when you walk through the door, but the warmth, and the smell of sourdough goodness that roll over you can almost be compared(in a good way) to that pea soup fog of San Francisco. The space is bright and cheery, with old classics(jazz not oldies!) playing. The menu is easily read(can’t miss it on the wall) — and there are choices to meet just about any palate– from the ‘basic’ Club, to MY favorite the pastrami with coleslaw ONIT. I met and spoke with the owners, Mark & Lucille and got the backstory on how they came to be serving up sandwiches in Boise. It’s obvious that they are passionate about their work. Unlike most other sandwich options these days, it’s not about speed, but about quality. NONE of their meats/produce are pre-cut. There are specifics about baking to sourdough that they refuse to cut corners on. I can see where others have been put off by how long it took them to get there food, all I can do in response to that is point down the road where Subway and other ‘get in get out’ spaces can be found. While I certainly hope not, this may be a hindrance to longevity for this lovely little sandwich oasis. While there are times when I just want to get food and run, there are also times when I want to slow down and enjoy. and NOT be at a price sit down eatery. Go for the sandwiches, oh and the Greek salad.(NOMS). their cookies are a delight too. you think it’s going to be a ‘hockey puck’ but l like the bread, it’s crispy joy joy on the outside followed by soft and almost buttery on the inside. Sit, nosh, enjoy. Remember what it’s like to ANTICIPATE and ENJOY food(that doesn’t cost $ 20 a plate!). Mark & Lucille, I wish you and your team great success. Thank you for a bright spot in a local palate of sandwich ho-hum.

I will say, I worked in a sandwich shop through high school and I’m a little tough on the other guys… Nothing to rant and rave about here, but the food is good! I love that the bread is warm when you get your sandwich. Mmmmm. It’s a little pricey, but I guess most sandwich places are. The staff was friendly and super helpful with the menu! I work nearby, so I’m sure I’ll be back. But not really top of my list.

Small little family deli. The sourdough bread was perfect on my french dip. Not my favorite sandwich shop but close to work and better than most local chains. 2 sandwiches and one small soda $ 17.95. So a bit on the high side for a sandwich place. But very clean, convenient, and really nice people!

It wasn’t bad food, but it certainly wasn’t impressive. I’m not saying this because I lived in SF where, amazingly, I almost never purchased sourdough bread(but I do love it). I just thought that the bread was the best part of the sandwich, whereas the meat and veggies didn’t really do it for me. And, no offense, but unless the bread is spectacular, I don’t care; the meat and veggies make up the«meat» of the sandwich, and affects my experience much, much more. Souring the experience further: it took damn near 15 minutes to make two sandwiches… there were two employees working and NOONEELSE in the restaurant. I should say that staff was very friendly. Won’t be returning.

I just noticed this place while I was at the golf shop next door. Decided to give it a try for lunch. I guess I’m not sure what I was expecting here, but I left a little disappointed. The bread is very good, but other than that they are your average sandwich shop. They do have an option for a green salad with your sandwich combo, which is nice, in place of the standard chips or soup. They have 20 different sandwiches on the menu along with 6 or 7 «Signature» sandwiches. Standard sandwich fare, nothing really stands out. We had the Italian and the Reuben. Both were good and the bread was very tasty(and CHEWY), but required a lot of force to bite apart. Don’t eat the bread if you have dentures or bad teeth. If I go back, which I may, I’ll try the soup as I’m betting the bread bowls are tasty. Took 15 or 20 minutes to get our two sandwich order, but I attribute that to them being new.
