I LOVE this place! Everything I have had is delicious and flavorful. They have something for everyone.

Best tomato bisque in Boise. Tried it from most major restaurants, but this one can’t be beat. Consistency consistency consistency. Also, try their potato salad already! I always leave this place much happier than when I arrived. Wonderful prices too.

This is my go-to lunch spot! I love the quality and flavors in the food. Favorite salad is the Miso hands down. The soups are awesome! I have had lunch in other places that cost twice as much or more and did not taste nearly as good. Nice job guys!

People at my work rave about this place so I decided to give them a try today. SOGLAD I DID! This place is a hidden gem. The place has like an upscale convenience store feel. Their cold sandwiches and salads are in a deli case for you to pick from. They also have a few Panini sandwiches they will make for you and different soups of the day. They sell breakfast as well. I ordered a club sandwich and their special soup of the day, chicken curry soup. The sandwich was very fresh and don’t let the pre-made business scare you. The bread wasn’t soggy at all from sitting in the cooler and all the toppings are perfectly placed so it tastes like you just made it. The soup, well I should have ordered a large because that was one darn tasty soup. I need to figure out how to recreate that at home. For a sandwich and small cup of soup I paid $ 10. A little on the steep side but given all the restaurant prices around town, I think it is comparable since you can barely find a good lunch around anymore for under $ 10. There is not much seating in the restaurant since it seems to be more of a grab-and-go type of place(hence«On the Fly»), however they do overlook beautiful 8th street so if you choose to stay, you can people watch from above.

I just discovered that they deliver! Ordered online, received my order with 15 minutes(ahead of their projected delivery time). Their online interface was smooth and user friendly. They have a $ 5 minimum order requirement and some percentage-based delivery charge. This was a big win, I love this option.

Tucked away inside the new tower On the Fly reminds me of an airport deli. Large amount of premade options, but also a hot menu that is cook to order. I ordered the Croque Madame Press which was very good. On the fly fills the business on the go dining experience. Only downside is the price. It’s very expensive for the amount of food you get. Other than that enjoy a great little business in downtown Boise.

This has got to be the best lunch spot in boise! I could probably eat here and only here forever and be happy. Just the right amount of convenience, quality and comfort. Most lunch places downtown seem to be either very fancy or fast food chains, so On The Fly fills a gaping hole(architectural pun intended). Right in the heart of downtown so it’s close to work for myself and many others. There is ample seating and an environment where I feel comfortable ducking in quickly by myself on any old weekday lunch break but where I would also want to go on a more special occasion. The food is delicious and makes use of delicious, quality ingredients but is extremely reasonably priced, comes in very reasonable portions, and again doesn’t feel out of place for a weekday lunch break. I was especially impressed by the gluten free options(something that is very important to me and lacking in many other similar establishments) — bread available on any sandwich(including all day breakfast) and many other soups, salads and side dishes. Additionally, the woman at the counter was extremely helpful in explaining their options, and actually just in general. I will definitely be back soon and often! In fact, I may never go anywhere else!

If you work downtown during the weekdays, you are LUCKY! I highly recommend On The Fly for anyone hungry for delicious, consistent, quick, affordable food — and who isn’t? The food is made fresh daily and is always high quality. You can tell the owner is proud of his product. I’ve tried a few salads, sandwiches, side dishes and paninis here and ALL were delicious. The desserts look super yummy. I’m dying to try the lemon basil bar. I usually take a lunch at 1pm, and sometimes they’ll be out of something I may want. I guess it’s all just that good! A few recommendations for the curious: –Cobb salad — it’s got everything and then some for under $ 6. –Anything with that bacon jam. Seriously. –Deviled eggs(4 halves for $ 1.75) –Mushroom, kale, fondue panini –White bean soup –Caprese sandwich Please try this place out before you go to Subway and Pita Pit. Support this new, local spot. You won’t be sorry!

Great little find. Excellent food for the price. Lunch consisted of the grilled cheese with pear, a beer and rice krispee treat with salted whiskey caramel. Definitely will be back.

Wow this place is amazing! We enjoyed the Reuben and the breakfast crêpe, both had great flavor and awesome prices. Paid under $ 12 for lunch for two. They pre-package tons of options! Usually cheaper prices means you compromise in quality, but that is not the case here. They go above and beyond in quality and flavor. They even roast their own meats… SO good. The atmosphere was perfect– open and airy. Great modern décor, awesome light fixtures, the windows the were open with an open floor plan. Definitely going back.

I went here today with my husband for a late lunch. We had the egg salad and the chicken salad with the intent on sharing. When it came time to switch halves neither of us wanted to give ours up, but still decided to. I can honestly say I’m not sure which we liked better, although our little girl seemed to like the egg salad better. The staff were all really nice and very informative. The prices are very reasonable. We will be back again soon!

I have been here three times for lunch and once to grab dinner to take home. It is so nice to have something fast downtown when the lunch rush gets busy and it is still really good food. Oh and the price? Cheap! You can’t get an egg salad sandwich anywhere for $ 3 and theirs has Bristol bacon jam, and dill crème fraiche. Hands down my new favorite lunch spot!

Recently opened on the second floor of the new 8th& Main building. Great fresh(but pre-made) sandwiches, and salads. They also have freshly baked desserts(cookies, etc) and a small selection of breakfast foods and hot sandwiches made fresh to order. The location is clean and bright and spacious. I grabbed a chicken salad sandwich, side salad, and a diet Pepsi for $ 8. The food was delicious and the balsamic dressing was amazing! The only downside: I understand this deli is affiliated with Brick 29? WHERE’S THEBACON???
