I had a gel mani done with Karen. She was skilled, fun to talk to and very personable. Her work was meticulous and she cares about her craft. This is going to be a staple for me!

Paige is wonderfully sweet and adorable and helpful and talented at her profession. My nails were in desperate need of TLC after weeks of packing and unpacking boxes, moving my family from another state. I Unilocaled my options and decided to give this place a try based on good reviews. Was surprised at the cost that was mentioned on the phone at the time of booking, as it’s double what I was paying in CA, but they must get that often if they’re sharing prices without being asked. The location was so convenient, I decided what the heck; l’ve earned this. I paused a little as I pulled up; the lawn and parking lot didn’t scream high-end nail salon inside, but once you walk through the front door, it is a cozy oasis of pampering. I felt a bit out of place at first; I think I was the only client in there under 40. But we slowly warmed up to a conversation as I received a pedicure and Paige was so helpful in recommending places for my family to experience as a newbie to the city. She guided me into a conversation with another client based on a shared tidbit and by the time I was out in the manicure area, there were 5 of us laughing through a conversation about the SuperBowl. I love Paige’s spirit, as well as her openness. We did talk about the possible why’s between prices of services in locations and trending colors. I didn’t mean to wait a week to write the review, but I love that it happened that way because I can also speak to the quality of the mani. This is the longest a polish has lasted without chipping in a long time. She took the info I shared(moving, 2 young kids) and custom tailored my manicure to survive my home situation. I got 2 rounds of top coat; I haven’t experienced any other salon taking the time to do that. Though I may try other salons as I explore my new city, I love knowing that a fun experience awaits the next time I book an appt with Paige.

I loved this little shop. The ladies are welcoming and the vibe is relaxed and comfortable. I came here based on the good review from another Unilocaler and honestly, I was not let down. At the time, I happened to be in Boise and wanted to find somewhere close. However, I live in Nampa and plan to come back. Seriously, they were worth the drive! Cara was wonderful and she did a great job on my pedicure. I had to cancel my manicure this week because of illness and I am actually bummed. I was looking forward to my small salon experience… One thing I was really excited about was that they use buckets and a foot spa, rather than the pedicure chairs. I had knee surgery years ago and the chairs are uncomfortable. I didn’t have to climb into the chair and pretend to enjoy my experience. Rather, I could sit comfortably, which was a bonus. Plus, I am super ticklish and for the most part, Cara turned my pedicure into a pleasant experience rather than a dreaded torture session! She has the right touch — not too soft but not hard like she is trying to remove your outer layer of skin. It was a perfect balance. Also, they send you a text to remind you of your next appt.

Northend Nail Design is the best in Boise. Karen DeCamp is #1. She treats all of her clients like family. I was impressed how clean the shop was and the service I received. Men and Women should treat them selves to a day at Northend Nail Design. Ask for Karen DeCamp!!!

You know in The Andy Griffith Show, how all the guys congregate at Floyd’s neighborhood barber shop for a cut, shave, or just a little friendly conversation? (Hey! I grew up with brothers who loved old black and white TV shows… my points of reference are usually dated and somewhat boyish… It can’t be helped.) And, you thought to yourself, how cool is that? I wish I had the girlie equivalent to that in my neighborhood! (What? Is it just me??? Certainly not!) Northend Nail Design is chic, modern, and feminine while maintaining a certain neighborliness that hearkens to a friendlier time. It’s kind of like fictional Floyd’s, only very real and instead of guys and barbers it’s pretty nails and girlie conversation. Paige, the owner, and all of the ladies who work here, have really accomplished something special with this place. When you arrive, you are often greeted by name whether it’s by your usual manicurist or one of the others(seriously…how do they remember everyone’s name? Not just their own clients but everyone’s! It’s astounding!). While still maintaining the utmost professionalism, you are always treated more like a friend than a client. It’s a true neighborhood/community sort of place. And, on top of all that loveliness… they rock some fabulous nails! I get their gel polish manicures and have always been pleased with the result. They stay up-to-date on the latest colors and styles and have really perfected the gel polish to a point where I rarely have any chips or any other issues. They will get you in and out in an hour, leaving your hands beautifully moisturized with polished nails sparkling. I never fail to leave a little more relaxed and happier than when I arrived. Plus, I get frequent compliments on my nails which is a testimony to their skill. A word to the wise though, call ahead of time as they are frequently booked 2 – 3 weeks out – I always book my next visit at the end of my current visit and have never had a problem.
