Mongolian BBQ

My favorite place in boise when I am craving for mongolian grill. The place looks clean and the and the staff always cleans it up within minutes if it gets messy around the buffet. Great selection of veggies. The chefs have thier own chef’s special sauce if u ask for it. I always grab another bowl just for sauces as I love sauces and the peanut sauce is a must for my bowl. You can directly start filling up your bowls if it is to-​go. Will be back!

A friend and I went to Mongolian BBQ yesterday evening, arriving one hour before close. I was slightly concerned that that meat in the trays was slightly thawed on top, but not alarmingly so. Also, the cook didn’t cook our food very long, so the meats were barely cooked and the tofu was not cooked, nor were the veggies.
We left at 10pm, and went home. Later that evening, both of us became sick. Neither had eaten anything for at least 5 hours before dinner. We believe that we were food poisoned due to the thawed meat and then being undercooked. We won’t be returning to this restaurant since they are unable to keep their quality control of the food and cooking all the way up to closing time.

Very nice for the price. A little intimidating when you get to the sauces. I took the advice of another reviewer and asked the chef. He was approachable and friendly and the sauce worked out fantastic. Fun to watch the food being cooked. Kids will enjoy this.
Staff is attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant is clean and the food is fresh and tasty. We will definitely be back.

This is my favorite Mongolian style establishment in Boise. The food is always fresh and plentiful, the service is exceptional and the prices are exactly what you’d expect for a restaurant like this.
Choose your veggies, meat, and noodles if that is your thing, see how much you can stack in your bowl, create your seasoning with the sauces provided and watch them cook on the round grill. I like it that they give you soup with your meal, it is always tasty.
This is a fast casual restaurant so the seating is tables and chairs and are nothing special but not bad. My only suggestion is that the bathrooms need a deep clean.

Really nice — even for a hole in the wall.
You get what you expect walking in — pick the food, they cook it, you eat it.
So pick what you like, pay the affordable price and have a good time!

Super tasty, but not as good as the overland location! The ham was sliced and not diced… And they didn’t offer as many sauces… Where’s the teriyaki sauce?! Food was still tasty, and service was friendly.

Meat was a bit tough. The recommended sauce combos were a good idea.
Reasonably priced too which helps for lunch.
All in all a good experience and will likely return soon.

Love this place. We were told whenever you visit Boise you have to go to Mongolian BBQ. Our waitress was amazing, but the food was even better. Love all of the sauces. The veggies are so good, fresh. The restaurant is clean and the cooks are friendly and very helpful with choosing which combo of sauces to use. I thought I could do an all you can eat and started with the medium bowl. I couldn’t eat more than half of it, I can’t wait for my leftover later today.
I would recommend this place to anyone who likes good stir-​fry. Especially for picky eaters, because you build your own meal and then they cook it for you.

One of our favorite family dinner or lunch choices. Veggies are always fresh, service is fast and friendly. Good selection. Decent price. Kids like it too as they can make it their own way!

If you’ve never had Mongolian BBQ. You haven’t lived life yet.
For those of you that are new to how this works — you basically just choose the size of bowl you would like. Fill it up with your favorite meats, vegetables, and sauces. Then watch it turn into a bowl of deliciousness sent from heaven as its grilled right in front of your eyes.
For my more experienced Mongolian friends. I’ve eaten at every M-​BBQ not just in Boise but meridian nampa as well as a few places in other states. This location will not let you down and in my opinion is by far the best. Fresh meats. Amazing sauces. Always great service.

Solid Mongo place. They have all the fixings and tons of sauces including the house bbq which is one of my favs. They also give you a cup of egg drop soup with your noodles and unlimited rice.
Overall a very consistently good Mongolian experience.

MONGO! Well, I was a bit nervous when I first arrived at the Mongolian BBQ that is kitty-​corner to Winco off of Fairview. However, I was hungry and my boyfriend talked me into it. When we pulled up, guess what is right next-​door, CITY BUFFET and well all know how I feel about that place. Mongo BBQ pleasantly surprised me!
The veggies looked fresh and natural (hopefully!). There are more veggies at the end of the buffet, so don’t forget to save room in your bowl. The meat confused me a little bit because it is frozen. I guess that is how it is suppose to be, but be ready to be in a little bit of shock when you see it.
There were lots of sauce options, and boy, do I love sauce! I had no idea what to put in the sauce, so thankfully mongo-​expert boyfriend came to the rescue! Looks like he went heavy on the Mongo, Soy, Something Spicy, and Garlic. If you love sauce, I suggest grabbing another bowl and filling it up!
All the veggies and meat makes this a great place for some clean eating. Seriously, you can skip the noodles my fellow low-​carb dieters. I’ll be back. Stayed tuned for my next mongo experience, it’s going to be even better!
