We’ve been seeing Dr. Mallea at Idaho Nephrology Associates for a dozen years. He has seen us through everything from chronic kidney insufficiency to kidney failure to dialysis and finally kidney transplant. He helped us navigate all these things and prepare us for each upcoming stage.
He has a wonderful ‘bedside’ manner and explains everything thoroughly to us. He also draws the occasional diagram. Best of all, he treats the whole person… not just the kidney problems.
The very best sign that he’s awesome: Our kidney transplant surgeon (who is a professor at the medical school at the University of Utah) was happy to release us to Dr. Mallea for follow-​up care because, in his words, «If I ever have kidney trouble, I’d want Dr. Mallea to be my doctor.»
