Hastings is really an amazing store. Be sure to sign up for a passport member card for $ 10 off a $ 20. Each store has a hidden clearance section in the isles… this location is very friendly.

Got to admit I have not been to Hastings in many years so I decided to stop in the other day. Sometimes you have those days where you just want to people watch, I felt like I was in interstellar (like i hopped to a galaxy where people still rented DVD’S from a store). Entertained by these people who refuse redbox, netflix, or even prime I continued my journey in to the maze of what I can only describe as a mini walmart.
I can officially say Hastings has every overpriced gadget, gizmo, and doo-​dad you may ever need. Just to really make you feel like you are at walmart they even matched the service, I was easily in the store 20 mins without a single greeting. I found security cameras, garage door openers, clothes, chargers, TV’s, skateboards, tablets, novelty items, bb guns, and a vast vast collection of specialty items. They have some cool Dr Who, Marvel, items if you don’t mind overpaying. All they are missing is a mini produce area to get milk and vegetables, THAT’S WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT!
After my visit I came out reminiscing the days of old when they did rentals, games, books and DID IT WELL. They clearly are at a loss of identity and this place is guaranteed to offer nightmarish experience for the Holiday season. Please enjoy my pictures

This really is a superior Hastings location. I was actually surprised upon entering. They have a better than average book selection. In addition, they have all the usual electronics, games, & etc… but what I didn’t expect:
Awesome selection of frisbee golf discs (whaaa!!! I know. Who knew.)
A surprising selection of skateboards
A pretty impressive selection of super hero merchandise of all sorts. Why? Because everyone feels just a bit more bad ass holding a beer in a Batman pint in their left hand. Everybody knows that.
And, the piece de resistance? An amazing selection of Dr. Who themed merchandise. I mean, sonic screwdrivers are somewhat expected. But, a Tardis teapot was a little less expected. And, Tardis twinkle lights? Mind=blown.
So, to sum up – you may go for the better than average book selection, but as you exit with an arm load of Tardis twinkle lights and superhero glassware you may wonder what in the heck just happened.
Then you’ll take one look at your Tardis teapot and realize whatever it was that happened – it was magnificent.
Get to it!

Absolutely the worst Customer Service I have ever received. Was treated horrible by the Bald male cashier running the customer service this afternoon when I brought a shoulder bag I purchased for my daughter for Christmas in to see if they would exchange it because the handle started tearing away from where it is attached to the bag. He could have simply explained that they do not exchange those items for that reason but instead he went into this long drawn out horrible guilt trip and making us feel like jerks for asking. He told us that he will let it slide this one time and that we could go check to see if they had one but your store didn’t have the same one. I got our bag back and left and will not be returning which is too bad as my kids love that store and I have shopped there since I was a kid. Thanks for nothing.

It’s nice to still have a brick and mortar media store in the neighborhood. They have a decent section of books, movies, and CDs (but seriously, who still buys CDs? Anyone?).
I get most of my media in digital format from stores like Amazon, which both offer better selection and cheaper prices. Plus, I can shop in my underwear without fear of acquiring a criminal record. That said, when I procrastinate and need a gift same-​day, or on the rare occasion I want an actual book and not a Kindle download, they’re a good option.
One gripe I have, and it really does factor into my decision whether or not to shop there, is the large, not-​well-​concealed selection of adult magazines in the front. I’m sure they’re there because of customer demand, but THIS mommy doesn’t appreciate it when I’ve got children with me, or really any time, for that matter.

I didn’t know it was possible to still rent movies! So tired of Netflix and, for some odd reason (although I am on the anti-​social side), I really enjoy picking one out in person. Something about debating what to rent with wifey and eventually just getting two of them.
I especially like their return policy (bring it back next day and get most of your money back in rental credit). Most importantly, about ²⁄₃ of the staff are really friendly and fun to talk to about movies. One of them even said I looked familiar, which I’m going to choose to believe means I look like a famous person. Cha-​ching!

My favorite bookstore, used music and videogame store, movie and videogame rental store all in one store. I love this place.

A very nice little chain of bookstores. I only visited the one on Overland in Boise, ID, but I was impressed. They sell used books, DVDs, games, and the like. They also have new books. (I purchased 2 used – wonderful condition – and 2 new.) There was also a little coffee shop inside. I didn’t get a chance to taste the coffee, but I heard very good things about it. All in all, if I’m ever in that area again, I know I’ll stop by Hastings!

Tons of music and videos. Prices are moderate, but on Amazon and elsewhere online they have much cheaper prices.
That being said, if you don’t mind driving and want to browse through a brick and mortar retail store, you won’t go wrong with Hastings.
