My wife and heard this was the best pizza joint in the area. We were very pleased, the staff was jovial, the pizza varieties were fantastic(even sourdough was a crust option) and the music pulled it all together. The place is fun and they fully embrace that mentally. The pizzas we tried were both crunchy and delicious. We tried the BBQ chix and spicy sausage, both excellent. Will return for sure.

Great pizza and a fun atmosphere! Tuesday evenings are awesome: Gourmet Pizza Night! It’s all-you-can-eat salad bar, breadsticks, pizza, and a dessert pizza. Their pizza selections are wonderful! I like the Garlic Chicken and Bermuda Triangle(three onion) pizzas the best, but the Broccoli & Tater is growing on me! Hubby likes the No-Veggie Pie-Way(all meat). I make a point to try at least one bite of every flavor offered at Gourmet Pizza Night, and I’m often pleasantly surprised that I enjoy pizzas that I normally would not have ordered. Check their Web site for the listings of which pizzas are available at which location on a given Tuesday. They also have an all-you-can-eat option at lunch time on weekdays. Yum! The salad bar has a modest number of selections, but plenty of goodies to make a fresh & tasty salad. The«It’s Your Day!» is a total blast. Keep an eye on their sign or Web site to find out when it’ll be your day. They have a person’s name or an attribute(Dad & I went on «Been to Switzerland Day»). You get to make your own pizza, for free, any way you want it. Lots of beer selections, and they can even add beer to your delivery. In my experience, they’ve been pretty generous with samples to let you try how the various beers might go with your pizza choice. They layout of this particular restaurant is odd. It seems to be pieced together — maybe they acquired different parts of the building at different times? However, the chopped-up nature of the place makes it perfect to get a fairly private area of 10 or so tables if you come with a large group. Be sure to honk the horn on the way out if you’ve enjoyed the experience.

Wow… this is the kind of place I dream about when I dream about of having my own pizza place. Sure, I would change some(a lot of) things, but they have the idea right. Had I gotten into my cups on the beer taps, this might even have been a 5. They definitely had a lot I wanted to try, so a repeat is probably in the cards. I like what they do here with their pies. I went during lunch(so there is potential for this to go up) and even at that, what they were putting out was outstanding, for what it was. The only one I didn’t like was the Samoan, as I thought what they were using conflicted with the sauce somewhat and unfavorably, but the chicken jalapeño garlic pizza was wonderful and the pepperoni pizza had no shame in its game. The soda fountain could have used a lot more work and to get to the bathroom, you go down a dark, nearly pitch black hall, but what the Hell. It’s an interesting ambiance and added to the charm for me. This is also very inexpensive and the staff is fantastic. Definitely this is one of the greats of the area.

OMG good pizza! Tons of toppings and the staff is hilariously caught somewhere in the no-man’s land between hipsters and true hippies… It’s just a nice casual place to have some outrageously good pizza. A decent lineup of on-tap beer too.

Delicious and interesting pizza, and delightfully weird. One of our few BOISE-centric gems.

As someone from the Chicagoland area, I have been struggling to find a pizza that meets my ridiculously high expectations. I was super excited to try Flying Pie after reading up on good, local places here in Boise. The pizza did not disappoint. It had fresh ingredients, soft/chewy crust, and good sauce. The ambience of the restaurant is great too. The employees are energetic and polite. The place also has that«seen better days» look that all great pizza places should have to them. If you are looking for a place that isn’t a chain, has good prices, and really goes above and beyond Idaho pizza expectations – this is the place for you. I cannot wait for their new location on Broadway!

Love all their pizzas, atmosphere & staff! Tonight we had Samoan, Triple Pie & Garlic Chicken. I had a Raspberry Framboise & my husband had a Sweet Grass IPA. Everything was good! Miss the triple habanero pizza though!

I ordered a pizza for delivery at 12:40PM on Sunday October 11, 2015. I was told it would take 60 – 70 minutes, a long wait, but for delivery on a Sunday I figured whatever I’ll wait. We got a call saying it would be an extra 10 minutes. Again I thought whatever I’ll wait. Then at about 2:00 my girlfriend and I called to see where the pizza was. Anthony said the driver was on the way. We waited another 20 min and Anthony said he was here. So I walked around my apartment building. No pizza. Called again. Anthony said he didn’t know where his delivery guy was. So at 3:04 we get a call that the delivery guy was at my apartment. Only problem is we left. Why? Well we were hungry and sick of being jerked around. I feel very disrespected. I was told the pizza was at my apartment and walked around the building to find no pizza delivery guy. I will not be ordering from here again. I have never had worse customer service. These people should be ashamed of themselves Also I’m disappointed I have to leave 1 star, because Anthony and his coworkers deserve zero stars.

The pizza was amazing. The place is really funky and neat. And they serve beer! Their prices are pretty good especially if you do the buy one get one half off special. I will be going here again.

Flying Pie is one of my top 2 pizza joints in town, most of the time my go-to pizza joint. As you can probably tell by my reviews of other establishments, I am a creature of habit. Once I find something I love, I rarely stray from it… My favorite option at Flying Pie is as follows: The zerto magnifico with sourdough crust. As a vegetarian option for my brother, you can substitute the spicy sausage with cream cheese… So everybody in the family is happy! I also really like the free«It’s your name» day! Definitely something a little special to do for your birthday month, or if they post your name. I also enjoy their habanero month in August. My brother and I have a «friendly»(not so friendly, we are very competitive) competition as to how many pieces of habanero pizza we can consume in one sitting… I do not recommend this. Alas, it is a lot of fun and we have great family memories at Flying Pie!

I had high hopes for this unique pizza place but it just didn’t meet up to them. The service was friendly but the wait was very long and the pizza was just OK. Very doughy and just too much going on. The types of pizzas offered are interesting and flavorful but execution is off because you get a very thick overloaded piece of bread. One piece and you are full. Staff was young and loud. Just not my scene. I’ll stick to regular pizza delivery joints for now.

Look, the pizza is pretty good. Not outstanding, but it is fine for a fair price. However, the service is either a hit or a miss. Actually, it’s more accurate to say that the service is either passable or a big miss. I get it, they’re busy and that affects service. Mistakes happen, I can roll with that. But when they do happen, make it right — don’t just lay some whiny pseudo-hipster excuse and insincere apology on me when I calmly register my legitimate complaint about something that’s pretty important. Better yet, fix the problem. So my advice is to double check your food before you go! And don’t bother getting an over-priced salad to go with your pizza. For $ 5.00+ they’ll just put some lettuce and a couple of toppings(that you don’t get to choose) into a very small plastic container. Lame.

Not the best pizza in Boise at all. The unique topping combos can be pretty good, but the plain pizza tastes worse than frozen digiornos, and the breadsticks were practically stale. The marinara sauce which came with them was flavorless and thick – as though it had been sitting out too long. It was gloopy and to be honest, a little gross. Layout of the place was alright and functional. Staff was kind and friendly – fast, too. It’s just a shame the food wasn’t that great.

This is the best pizza in Boise. I am always trying to find an excuse to hit up Flying Pie. All of their pizzas are top quality(especially my favorite, the Garlic Chicken). They also have rotating beer taps that always keep me guessing. The staff is very friendly and willing to chat with you about the food, beer, or just life. These guys are pros. If you’re wondering whether or not you should do pizza, just go here. Do it.

I write this review with a bit of sadness as this is a place I really WANTED to like… and even walking out the door I still wanted to like it more than I did. So I’ll start off with the positives before I get to how I was disappointed. The pizzas themselves are good, and the topping combinations are very creative. We went on a «Gourmet Night» and so we got to try some of their more inventive combinations. Truth be told the best thing we ate was the dessert pizza… fresh fruit and basil? Yum! The pizzas themselves were well proportioned in terms of the ratio of toppings, to cheese, to sauce. A lot of pizza places fall down in this respect as they overload one or the other. So in terms of the food itself, Flying Pie gets the job done. The problem is that they fall down pretty much everywhere else. The restaurant itself is terribly laid out, and the food service areas leave a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness and accessibility. Whenever a new round of pizzas is brought to the serving area, a huge line forms instantly and the pizzas are gone within minutes. There are no clean plates for return visits(which I’m sure has to be some kind of potential health violation) and there are no waiters/bussers clearing trash and such from tables. The salad bar also makes me fear for my health as items are not restocked and the bins are often dirty with«cross contamination» from items from other bins. The table layout is claustrophobic. Just trying to find room for a high chair at one of the larger tables was a major issue. I would say it is not a very«family friendly» place at all. And as I noted above, if you go on a «buffet» night, the line that forms every time new pizzas come out can be a major pain. Basically the restaurant is very poorly laid out, is very difficult to get around, and is a nightmare for small children. And to cap off our experience… well, let’s just say my entire family got very familiar with the bathroom later that night. So overall I don’t see myself going back. The pizza itself was fine, and maybe I’d grab it as take out at some point in the future. But our experience at the restaurant itself was just so poor that I don’t really see us eating there in the future… and that is somewhat unfortunate.

This review is for the Catering side of flying pie. If you have large groups and you looking for a quality prorecommend flying pie! And it is a bit more money than a chain pizza place but the quality is much better in my opinion. If you buy two five packs of pizza you get a pizza foe FREE. That’s 11 pizzas! So for about a $ 125 I think that’s not bad. And these are their specialty pizzas not just a one topping cheapo that you can get down the road. The only problem were having is which pizza to try first. :)
