China Grand Buffet

Yessssss!!! This place Rocks food was awesome service was nice a lot of food all types of food 5 stars yup 5!

I’m sooooo sad because I miss this place sooo much !!! Best Buffet ever and I’m not really a buffet person. We’ve live in Idaho, Utah, Vegas, California, New Mexico and have never had a better line up of perfectly cooked and seasoned Chinese food ever !!! I will be flying into Boise just to eat here when I become a millionaire!!! Love you guys :)

Well, with Chinese Buffet’s, I don’t think anybody has super high expectations, so I can’t imagine ever giving one a 5-​star review (but who knows). My wife and family and I have been the China Grand Buffet many times over the years. Some nights it’s pretty good (like maybe approaching a 4-​star). Tonight, however, it wasn’t that good. Things were kind of greasy compared to the past, and just not very fresh. More like a 2-​star experience. So, for this review, I’m splitting the difference and giving them a 3! We probably won’t be back for a while, since there are other buffet’s around that are just as good as tonight’s experience.

We took our mom here for her 70^th birthday and we had a party of 18. We were treated very well by the wait staff. We were seated in the over flow area right next to the very large TV. Yes, we watched Sunday football (Kellen Moore Cowboys) during this party.
This area was very cold but within a few minutes it heated up. We arrived at 11:00 AM and the buffet was very good. There was a large selection of food. I ate salmon, crab legs, and sushi. They were all very good.
There was a waitress assigned to this overflow area and she was awesome! She let us know when the next round of crab legs was coming out before it was put out on the buffet line.
We will return for another all you can eat buffet.

Disgusting and really judge the people who eat here and return for more bc i will def not! The bathroom was dirty and witnessed staff not washing their hands after using the bathroom already in the past-​she was not working tonight thank god or i would point and yell peefinger lady… lol ! This was their last chance. sorry but they serve really horribly over cooked slop and the staff is not nice to their customers because people continue to buy their garbage, so they dont GAF. The bathroom was overflowing and the register lady didn’t give a crap. The boy seating us was a douche so the whole experience didnt start well to begin with.
Ghetto dirty AF place and the staff just doesnt care and that’s why it’s ½ of a star. The other half goes to their over cooked bland soggy food. I would be embarrassed to work here or own the place it’s pretty bad.

I’ve been a long time patron of this place for the simple fact the food quality is outstanding! The selection is huge and very fresh considerating most Chinese buffets leave food sitting out until it tastes like last month leftovers. The folks who work here are always friendly and make me feel welcome every time!

My previous review gave China Grand 2 stars instead of 1 for nostalgic reasons, but my love for this place is gone now.
I made it here just in time for what I thought would be a nice, reasonably priced after school lunch. And lunch, according to their website is 10:30 — 3:30 on weekdays and dinner begins at 4:00. But that is not the case. What their site should say is: «Lunch 10:30 — 4:00. Lunch must be fully consumed by 4:00.» Because at 4:01, when they finally brought me my check (and pretty much everyone else in the place), it had the more expensive dinner price on it. When I told the cashier after our meal that we were here by 3:30 he informed me that only the time we finished eating mattered not when we began. They should have said ‘you have 30 minutes of lunch left’ when we walked in, but they didn’t. Just like they should announce (somewhere!) changes in the prices, but they don’t. The communication between China Grand and it’s customers is dismal. It all just seems like money grubbing to me.
Also I don’t know how I neglected to mention the mediocre/​awful service here too. You will see your server a maximum of 2 times while you’re eating. Once to seat you and get drink orders and then one last time to bring your check. There is practically zero chance of getting a refill here. They are gone for good once you have the bill.
The food is neither better nor worse than my last visit, but also no cleaner. I honestly don’t think I will ever come back here. This was the last straw.

I have never been to a larger Buffett outside Las Vegas. The steamed clams were to die for. I wish I could have sampled more, but two trips was all I could manage. Very good choice for the entire family

Nice selection but missing some of the usual and my favs. Pretty good value. The food coild be slightly warmer… and wish they had some spicier selections… the food labled as spicy I’d rate it a 2 on the spicy scale.

The food was great. atmosphere was all right. The only negative thing is the temperature in the restaurant was extremely hot making it very uncomfortable to sit to seat and dinner. It was so warm I couldn’t stand it.

This was my first time at Grand China Buffett (I’m not usually a buffet fan) but it was one of the only options for dinner at 9pm on Fairview. We had a large group and buffets make it easy to please mostly everyone. There are soooooo many options to choose from it is literally overwhelming. I may have to go back several times and continue updating my review.
Considering it was after 9pm the restaurant was VERY busy! The staff was doing their best to keep up and refill but there were several things that I would have liked to try that were empty. Apparently there was a BUS full of people from WA that stopped for dinner so the bathroom with only two stalls was very busy and the buffet lines were a little chaotic.
So many choices…
Sushi, salad bar, a wall of soups, a teppanyaki cook, mashed potatoes, seafood of ALL kinds, crab rangoons, veggie and pork egg rolls, pot stickers, pizza, peanut butter chicken, desserts, ice cream… Etc
My highlights were the peanut butter chicken, coconut shrimp, crab rangoons and the noodle and veggie dish that the chef prepared for me. I steered clear of the desserts because the ice cream cabinet was looking SCARY! I’m hoping that it was due to high volume of customers and the time of night. I don’t eat sushi wish seaweed (soy paper only) but everyone else at my table ate it by the plate full. Keeping in mind that it’s an affordable all you can eat buffet I think they do a pretty good job.

Okay, okay… This place is not perfect, BUT it is so affordable and tasty I can’t give it less than five stars! It’s less than eight dollars a person. Yep, that’s right! 8 bucks!!! Everything was flavorful and restocked quickly. I only managed to eat one plate worth, but since it’s so affordable, it left me relieved that I didn’t spend a fortune! They frequently came by to refill drinks and collect used dishes. I was completely satisfied!

Why didn’t I discover this place before?! I had a delicious three-​course meal for only 10 bucks! It is good for both dining alone or group. I will definitely return again.

I was skeptical about this place because the reviews weren’t all that great, and unfortunately I am going to have to agree with those bad reviews. The food was not that great. They had a few items that were okay, but no reason to go back and eat it. The place looked a little dirty but the service was okay. Seemed to be busy as well. For 2 adults and a kid to eat it was $ 30, which I don’t even find worth the money at all. I wouldn’t return anytime soon.

The ultimate in Chinese food buffets. They put out crab legs every 15 minutes, so watch out for them and be quick on your feet to jump in line because they go fast. They even have Dim Sum and chicken feet (if you like that type of thing). And the deserts are plentiful as well. A favorite spot for just my oldest daughter and me.

I’ve only been here once, but the service sucked. Got seated right away, and we were told to wait and someone would take our drink order. That took forever. Then when we finally got the food it was all just not good. Sushi was awful probably the worst I’ve ever had and all of the other dishes I tried were just disgusting. Will never be back.

This place needs to be synonymous with the word «Disgusting». I have gone here twice, not by choice either time, but as a tag along with some friends and I have no idea how they stomach it let alone enjoy it.
Let me just key you in on a lil something here, everything is pre-​made. Nothing is made fresh. It’s like they buy all the stuff and just take it out of the package, heat it up, and serve it. Its so gross. I’d rather not eat anything than eat here. And it’s not just that a few things are gross here — EVERYTHING is gross here. The salad, the chicken products, the seafood, the beef, the sushi, the desserts, the soups, EVEN THE ICE CREAM is repulsive.
It’s hard to say anything could be worse than McDonalds. but this… is worse than Mcdonalds.

Not a buffet fan but couldn’t pass this one up. An American, Japanese, Chinese fusion.

Salad bar for those trying to be good
American for the kiddos, nuggets, pizza mac &cheese
Buffet bar with lots of seafood and Chinese dishes
Sushi– simple sushi yiu could make yourself
Desert– soft serve and scoop ice crème with an Asian flair

Ok as far as Chinese buffets go these guys have it going on. I have been going here now a little over two and a half years and I gotta say the food is really good.
As in most restaurants especially the buffets you’ll find that the waiters and waitresses can barely keep up with some tables especially the pill drinks and so forth but here the longest wait that I have ever had after my class was empty was about 4 to 5 minutes.
But that was on a packed house so I wouldn’t expect them to be able to get to me at every single moment of the day. The even have a hibachi grill which is pretty darn amazing in and of itself
The overall quality of the food exceeds any expectations that you would normally find at a Chinese buffet restaurant.
The staff genuinely care about their patrons and will do what they can to be able to help you out with a new food choices that you may have that they don’t have on the items table.
when it comes to having food at a great price this place has it all from the buffet at the buffet bar itself to the hibachi grill and the sushi stand where they will make sushi upon request if they have it.
As far as I can tell the food is fresh and freshly made and not something that you would find in a warmer.
If you’re in the area I would definitely recommend these guys however I will not give them 5 stars and due to the fact that even though they were packed it did take awhile to get my bill.
Overall the 4 stars are well earned and its near five star except for that little fact.

This place is so impressive! I always have to go there when I go to Idaho!
First of all, it has a variety of Chinese and Japanese food that makes it a though decision of what to eat. From sushi to soups, pastries, salmon, chicken, beef, fruits, salads, jelly.
Second, it’s a all you can eat restaurant — for around $ 10! So go there when you are hungry!
Besides that, they are clean, the service is good, the ambiance is comfortable… I wish there were a restaurant like this near where I live.
