Disappointing, is all I can say about the service. When a waiter comes up to you, that you’ve never seen before and says«what do you want?» with a sense of demand, we all stared at him wondering who the hell he was. No refills on drinks, no explanations of dailies, no small talk. Nothing. The food is good… Far, far better than the service. The end of the meal, no receipt was offered. We waited. Empty glasses. No one came. My toddlers were melting down and so we coated them and I walked to the register. The guy who TOOKOURORDERS hadn’t a clue who I was. He stared at me. Then walked off and some lady came over and asked if I was dining in. F#%kin’, really?! Food was good. First time I’ve given less than a 25% tip in years. So disappointing. I doubt we’ll be back. I can go to TacoBell for better service.

Absolutely Delicious. I ordered the Ropa Vieja — there are 4 things in the dish: all delicious. Shredded Beef Black Beans Plantains Rice — was the amazing! When do you go somewhere and the Rice steals the show??? Well here it did. Everything was great and the rice was too.

I’d give it a 3.5 if I could. Amazing atmosphere, happy service. Great flavors, presentation, and portions. Excellent fried plantains and bananas. CONS: Meat was luke-warm and tough(overcooked). I DO recommend going here though. Deserves another visit. Easy fixes and then they’d have a 5⁄5

It’s a very good sign when everyone in the restaurant is speaking Spanish. Clearly this is a favorite of those in the know for authentic ethnic food. Our food was terrific: melt in your mouth pork dishes. Our kids even preferred the beans & rice to the chicken strips. Ignore the faded exterior & head on inside!

Okay we finally made it to the restaurant location instead of the food truck this time. We ordered an appetizer of chorizo croquetas and split a chicken dish called pechuga de pollo a la plancha. The croquetas were made with a chorizo I do not often cook with(this type of chorizo is not in a casing and almost melts in the pan to a liquid form when cooking). Not what I was expecting and although the dish tasted okay, I think I would try the cod or ham next time. The chicken dish came highly recommended by the waiter but was really bland. The beans that came with it were more liquid then beans. Onions on top of the chicken were good and the chicken had a nice subtle flavor but mainly tasted like lemons. The plantains that came with it had an alcohol type taste to them. I’ve never eaten plantains so I don’t know how they compare but was not something I enjoyed. I will say I’m not down and out… there are so many things on the menu that sound great and may provide the flavors I’m anticipating so I will be back. I just need to stay true to my taste buds and not go off recommendations that probably appease the masses and get the dishes that will provide my taste buds the punch I’m hoping to find. I guess overall, after eating at the food truck and now the restaurant, I was hoping Cuban food would provide more flavor all around. Better luck next time.

Food ok, drinks not good, service hilariously bad. Two tables in the entire restaurant; had a hard time bringing drinks, remembering anything at all, stuff was late or never came out-acted like they couldn’t make palettes despite the fact that they are on the menu for al day. Server was not good humored and was weird about seating me and my baby. His assistant was on the ball though, she had A LOT of slack to pick up!

Great food. Limited on alochol, but the food makes you forget about the drinks. Pollo asado I’d to die for.

Grab your friend, maybe a wife or a husband or maybe even go solo and liberate your taste buds! Casa Blanca is a wonderful food haven. Upon being seated, service was spot on and everyone was very friendly. The person I was with and I really wanted to order the same thing but we decided to go outside of the box and get two different plates so we could share. Do this! Share! Try new things! I couldn’t decide what plate to get so the server suggested Pechuga de pollo a la plancha which was a grilled chicken breast marinated in garlic and lemon, topped with sautéed onions. It was served with white rice, black beans and sweet ripe plantains!(It will help curb that after dinner sweet tooth!) What a great suggestion! The only thing I would suggest it to put some hot sauce on top. I like things spicy. The person I was with ordered the Fricase de puerco which consisted of tender pork chunks and potatoes cooked in a homemade Cuban Creole sauce. It also was served with rice, beans and the traditional plantains. A really liked both plates but the Penchuga de pollo was my favorite out of the two. I feel like it was healthy too, which is a plus, plus, plus! Add this to your list of eateries! I believe it will go from a «I want to eat there» on your list to «My new favorite!» Bön Appetit or in Cuban Spanish, buen provecho.

This is just like Abuela makes. Being Cuban makes eating Cuban food at restaurants less appealing. Ropa vieja, tostones, mariquitas con mojo, all these are dishes I took for granted for so many years. This place is as good as anywhere I have been. The dishes are authentic, the atmosphere is a little bit touristy. It’s not a copy of or has the same feel as Versailles on Calle Ocho but the menu is excellent. Bistec palomilla con maduros and arroz con frijoles. All of it is the real deal. The only thing missing is an ice cold Iron Beer, but Malta Hatuey takes me right back to sitting in my Abuela’s kitchen while she is preparing croquetas and bacalao. This place takes me home.

I have gone here several times with several different groups and people. It is on the dining club card which got me to go first. The portions are great for the price, the hours are great, the location has easy parking, and the service is also lovely. There isn’t a thing anyone I have brought here didn’t like for food(goes for myself as well) and its really a nice option for people to try something a little outside the box and get a nice surprise!

Everything about Casa Blanca was great. On a recommendation from my server I had the Camarones al Ajillo(Shrimp sauteed in garlic, white wine, and olive oil). So good, and so filling. The Cuban Coffee was also surprisingly tasty. To top it all off my server even seated me at a table near an outlet so I could charge my phone while I ate. Couldn’t think of a single thing to improve, and would return often if I didn’t live 500 miles away. Pro-tip: Flatten the pile of rice and pour the black beans and some of the green sauce over them. The mix of complementary flavors is even better than everything separately.

This place is amazing. My first Cuban food experience Restaurant was clean and inviting. Service was excellent and the food even better. When you walk in the aroma from the food is amazing. My wife and I both love this place and will return. Done let the neighborhood detour you from awesome food.

Casa Blanca is a nice place to try some Cuban food. We ended up trying pork(masas de puerco fritas), beef(ropa vieja), and seafood(bacalao a la vizcania) plates. The food was great and the service was perfect during our Friday night visit. The dessert, although amazing, was lacking the cuban charm that the rest of the meal had. Expect to pay around $ 10 a plate, $ 15-$ 20 per person with drinks and all!

Went here for the first time this week. Their pork was very tender and flavorful. It was my first time having Cuban food and I am sad to report, that it may not be for me. I would definitely recommend this restaurant though! They offered generous portions, great service and it was very clean. Perhaps I will go again and try a different dish.

Having had food from some of the best Cuban restaurants in Miami I can tell you without a doubt that Casa Blanca will not disappoint! Their slow cooked pork is delectable and the medianoche sandwich is the best I have had. Great family atmosphere with very reasonable prices.

This place is outstandingly awesome. Finally Boise is starting to get some pretty diverse choices with restaurants, thank the gods! He best appetizer is the beef potato balls, perfectly fried, soft potato and ground beef inside make this a tantalizing treat to start your meal. The arroz con pollo with the boned chicken is the best item on the menu, it’s an explosion of amazing favors. The chicken falls off the bone and is surrounded by perfect Spanish rice. It’s heaven in my mouth. Check it out now!

I have been there twice and both times or was excellent with very friendly service. I had the Chuleta de Puerco and Cubano sandwich so far. Both dishes were very tasty, the Cubano can stand by itself, it was perfectly roasted and did not need any BBQ sauce. The Chuleta de Puerco is very tasty, incorporates many flavors and is plenty of food, better be hungry!

Once upon a time I thought Cuban food was the second most delicious thing to have roots in that beautiful and beleaguered country. The most delicous thing? Andy Garcia. While I still so appreciate how yummy is Mr. Garcia, time passes and at my age priorities realign to put him in second place. Now my vote for the most delicious thing with Cuban heritage is the food. How lucky are we in the Boise area to have remarkable Cuban food in this independently owned restaurant where pride of ownership shines in every detail. From the ambiance, to the service, to the food it is all fantabulous. Gems like this are rare. They can be fleeting given so much depends on the people who own it and cook the food wanting to continue to do that. Enjoy it now. VIBE «Welcome to Cuba» says the little sign near the cash register as you enter. But even if you didn’t see that sign, you might know where you were. The Cuban music playing at just the right level on the sound system, the aroma of garlic and braising pork, rice, toasting bread and simmering beans, the warm colors, the tile floors and wood tables, the photos and posters of Cuba on the walls; on each visit you’ll likely notice some new detail. Like the lyrical hum of some of the diners and staff speaking Spanish, a beautiful language that in this restaurant sounds especially so. All welcoming and lovely. It sparkles in every sense of the word, from the greeting at the door, to the pristinely clean surroundings, to the stellar service to the flavors in the food. SEATING Comfortable chairs at standard height(hooray) tables throughout. Some tucked into alcoves, some in the center of the room, some in a separate room(a great spot for a private party). My husband and I particularly appreciate that even if full house the seating is arranged in a way that one feels they have ‘elbow room’. SERVICE Welcoming, friendly, gracious, efficient, delightful. This has been a perfect experience for us on each visit from the beautiful young woman who was covering the entire restaurant. Top notch. MENU /FOOD /VALUE The multi page menu is the same from opening at 11a through dinner service that ends at 9p. You’ll find appetizers, entrees, sandwiches and sides all of traditional Cuban food. Don’t miss the soup list on the back page. In addition to the delicious black bean soup served daily there is a special soup for each day of the week. If you go on Thursdays, do not miss the garbanzo bean soup that has a wonderful full flavored broth with pork and potatoes. Remember that tip. And note if you order a sandwich you can substitute a cup of soup for the fries that come as normal side for only a $ 1.99 extra. Leave the fries. Order the soup. You’ll thank me. You can’t miss with anything on the menu. The tostones con mojo(fried plantains with garlicky mojo sauce for dipping) are wonderful.($ 3.99) So are the black beans. And the sweet plantains. My husband loved the bacalau, a cod dish simmered with tomato and bell pepper sauce with potatoes.($ 11.99) Braised pork shoulder asado with onions is served with a side of black beans mixed with rice and also yucca with garlic that is scrumptious.(And a bargain at $ 9.99.) You’ll find shrimp dishes and classic chicken dishes, like arroz con pollo, and sandwiches including the ever popular Cubano. Sandwiches(around $ 8) are large easily shared by two, and stand out not just for the perfectly crafted fillings but for the Cuban styled bread on which they are served. Portions are generous and we always eat very well here with leftovers to take away for just about $ 30 for two people and that includes a couple of beverages and always(always!) a dessert to share. Look at the dessert card on the table(beverages on the flip side) and save room. I recommend the Flan de Coco, a dense coconut flan drizzled with real caramel or the Cuban chocolate pudding.(Each about $ 4.00) LIBATIONS Soft drinks, bottled beers domestic and imported, a few wines by the glass and housemade Sangria($ 4.50). The Sangria is delicious. So is the Cuban Espresso($ 2.50) made with coffee brought in from Miami; the perfect counterpoint to any dessert. THIS N THAT: 1) PARKING: Private lot. 2) ACCESSIBILITY: No marked accessible parking in the lot. There is a curb ramp accessing the sidewalk at the front door. Level iin and throughout. Single stall in loo likely too narrow for people who cannot stand and step in. 3) 7DAYS A WEEK: It must be exhausting and daunting to be open every day of the week in a small restaurant ilke this. Hats off to them! 4) FOODTRUCKTOO?: Note a spiffy looking food trudk sometimes parked behind the restaurant. Seems as if it is a mobile until for the Casa Blanca sandwhiches.

Wow! I am super impressed with this little Boisean Cuban restaurant! The food was very authentic, the atmosphere was fun and relaxed, and the service was excellent. My boyfriend and I got two of the chicken entrees(pollo asado and fricase de pollo) and sangria. The sangria was good, not super alcoholic, but festive none the less. The chicken from both dishes was delicious! The meat was tender and flavorful. The sides were also very impressive. The yuca was perfect, and even the rice and beans were noteworthy. The fried plantains may have been a bit overcooked, but still tasty, plus the sauce that came with them was awesome — light and tangy. I can’t wait to go back and try dessert! So glad we stumbled across this place!
