I am a big fan of this little hidden gem in my neighborhood! Their produce is high-quality and reasonably priced, and the store is always clean and smells like sweet, fresh apples. They carry local products like AJ’s salsa, Ballard cheese, and Cloverleaf Creamery milk. Also, they have a bit of a selection of fun crafts products like aromatic soaps and woven baskets. The owners are super-hospitable people who I’ve seen cover the difference for kids were a few dollars short on their Halloween pumpkins. They are also really attentive, thoughtful and ready to answer questions. As a bonus, they always have salsa samples sitting on the counter and they are the only place I’ve ever seen that has scoopable Idaho Spud candy bar bites in bulk. As an Idaho native with an affinity for the little marshmallowy, coconut-covered treats, I can’t help but grab a few every time I walk in. The Boise Bench Market is rarely ever busy when I go in and I wish that I saw more people there. I definitely recommend stopping by and grabbing some great stuff! Note: They don’t take credit cards, which is the only reason I didn’t give then five stars. Bring your checkbook!
