In a few years, this has become a Boise institution. It combines great food and drinks with service in a unique neighborhood ambiance. One of my «go to» spots in town. Great bar scene and excellent service with great, consistent food.

The vibe here during the day seems relaxing especially in the winter with the fire going . It’s moderately busy, probably because its centrally located and The food is good . I hate to say that The service is not… Although it seems friendly enough, For some reason it takes quite some time to get some service with a party of four . I don’t know if it’s because they are short staffed or don’t care but it had somewhat of a dismissive attitude . If you want anything extra ; (napkins, refills, straws, dressing) you have to get up to track them down to ask since they drop off the food and don’t bother to check back . All in all I would say that the best thing about the place are the giant French fries and ranch as well as the Hemingway drink. it’s slightly better than average food and great drinks and mediocre to inattentive service.

I have been back to this restaurant since my first review, and found the service, and food, spot on. My first experience was a bad one, but I’m glad I tried again. I’ve been back several times.

Very nice ambience… I had prawn caprese with mozzarella and a small Caesar salad, prawns were well cooked, small salad was very tasty… my plan was to combine them both for a great salad and it worked! Bullit old fashioneds were well made and tasty. Would come again.

Is there management in this place? Being North enders and hoping to be regulars somewhere we keep trying 13th street. On the 4 occassions we have given this place a chance, we have promised never to return. If you read Juniors review you can see that this place needs to have new management or close down. On our last visit we sat for 30 minutes, yes 30 minutes to be acknowledged by staff. We normally leave after 5 minutes of not being acknowledged at an establishment, but we were determined to see what was going on with this place. The second time we were never served our drinks although our food was served. The«bartender was busy». Please demand better service. If you are waiting anywhere for more than 3 minutes to be acknowledged, leave.

What a nice find in Hide Park. Great patio and located in what is listed as the hippest place in Boise.

This is my go-to wine and dine al fresco spot in Boise. The patio, which is accented with beautiful flower pots, is a great place to people watch on a lazy Sunday morning, or during happy hour after work. A friendly staff, combined with reliable food and a relaxing ambience, is what makes this place a must-stop whenever I’m in town.

First time here. Loved the atmosphere on the patio the service was great also! I ordered the Cobb salad with balsamic vinaigrette and it was on point. Really yummy and fresh and the chicken was cooked great. Loved the size of the meal, how it looked and how it tasted.

Good spot to hangout after a long mtb ride at Hulls Gulch. The real winner was the bacon wrapped dates, so decadent and savory they were a great combination of sweet, savory, and creamy with the blue cheese. The wings were spot on, nice and crispy and saucy all at once. The bruschetta was also perfectly prepared. All-in-all it was a very good appetizer spread and the service was good. Can’t complain about any of my experience so far!

This used to be my favorite place to go for fresh, delicious salads. Their steak salad was a family favorite, where literally everyone at the table would order it for dinner(my cousin will normally order two entrees). When the steak salad was taken off the menu, it was devastating to say the least… however, we were able to construct a similar salad with steak skewers, subbing dressing, subbing for spinach etc. That was fine until once I was accidentally charged $ 20 per salad(which is pretty high in my book for a salad), the manager on duty totally rectified the situation so we are all good there. I just glanced at the menu and noticed that they have taken the spinach salad off as well so I am bummed to see that I probably won’t be able to «build my own salad»… any chance management has considered bringing back the steak salad with gorgonzola dressing and crumbles? My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Came on mothers days and we left very disappointed. It took 10 minutes to get greeted and another 8 minutes to get our coffee. We ordered the burger which was the best part of the visit, biscuits and gravy were extremely hard and was not able to finish it. I informed our waitress of my allergy to tomatoes and my burger came with tomatoes. They took my burger back and I got it back 2 minutes later which meant that my burger was probably contaminated… Refills on coffee were by request only and took several minutes to flag a server down. Patio was nice though :-) We were on the patio next to the bussing station. The server was a brunette with longer brown hair, pulled up in a bun. Sorry didn’t look at her name on the receipt and she did not tell us when she greeted us.

Terrible service and mediocre, overpriced food. My house salad was pretty good, but the rest was just not stellar and I was really disappointed. The pub is absolutely beautiful and in a great location; I just really think they could do better.

Great food, great service, great fireplace. Get the cheeseplate! Nice atmosphere. Great salads! I like to sit next to the fireplace on chilly nights.

Terrible Service. Bad Food. Why is it still here? This location is one of the best in Boise located in Hyde Park. They have patio seating and it is nestled under the big Boise trees. I’m actually upset that I can’t enjoy Hyde Park because this is the only semi-okay place to enjoy a meal. However, semi-okay doesn’t mean it okay to charge for over-priced, rude staff. The food tastes like Sysco. If I’m going to pay top-notch to enjoy hipster alley, it better be really good! Please throw out your menu and hire a chef that is passionate about food. I would love to come here more often.

Been here three times over the past 1.5 yrs and have been pleased every time with the food and service.(The last two times we had the same server. Don’t know his name but he reminds us of Elijah Wood only better-looking ;-)) Most recent visit was today after shopping at the Co-Op and kind of on a whim cuz we were hungry, in the area, and wanted to go with something tried and true. Hubs and I both had the steak salad. Perfectly cooked to our specs– I wanted med-rare and hubs ordered well done. Kudos to the chef re precise cooking and presentation! We asked for the Stilton-ale dressing on the side, and the gorgonzola cheese was thoughtfully put on the side of the plate as well. That’s a strong cheese, and allowing the customer to add as much as he/she wants is a nice touch. Those polenta fried squares are amazing! We would want to place an order of those to go if we weren’t watching calories. Keep doing what you’re doing, 13th Street. We have no complaints :-)

We went here about a year ago. This review is intended to document that experience. I will update tonight, as we’re going to try it out again before seeing Big Lebowski on the big-screen at the Egyptian Theater(everyone should go to movies here!). We explicitly went here for beers; however, the cheese plate looked so good that we decided to order it and some wine. Don’t remember the wine, but it was decent and affordable. The cheese plate was killer. I don’t remember what entrees we had, but we were satisfied with food and service when we left. I believe that other Unilocalers are correct, in that this place has kind of steep beer prices. The atmosphere is pretty cool, as it looks like an old house converted into a restaurant. They have roll-up doors in the summer, which is good and bad. Good when it’s early /very late summer, spring or fall; bad when it’s 103 F in the dead of Boise summer and even the misters do little to make you feel comfortable. I remember staff being extremely friendly, but not super knowledgeable about the wine list. I think if everything lines up(service, temperature, quality of meals, etc.) this is pretty amazing and way better than standard pub fare. Will update tomorrow, after we’ve tried it again. Update: It was great! Unfortunately, we were in a hurry; however, our server took great care of us and got us fed and out quickly. We ordered the shrimp bamboo skewer to begin with and it was pretty solid(nothing mind-blowing; similar to the shrimp satays at Bardenay with a nice chili dipping sauce). Wifey had noodle bowl with tofu(solid, but too reminiscent of a dinner we just ate… not 13’s fault) and I had a chicken caesar salad. For a full order of salad, I expect a slightly larger plate with lots of greens, but it was plenty substantial(I’m just gluttonous). The portion of chicken was a little on the small side, but only cost $ 4. My pint of Stella Artois did cost $ 5.75, which is steep, even by SF bay area standards. Overall, a great experience(and the perfect temperature for outdoor seating)!

My boyfriend and I stopped in here for the first time on Saturday afternoon for lunch after hiking a few miles in the foothills. It was pricey, which didn’t really surprise me.(Although, I feel like more places should have an exclusive lunch menu, but whatever.) I don’t mind paying a little extra for good food, but it bugs me when I pay too much for food that’s just«meh.» I have the Pub Club and my date had the Cod and Chips — neither of us were impressed. For $ 12 a plate, for LUNCH, I expected to love what I was eating. The location and the venue are awesome, big props for that. We sat inside the covered area, but the windows were all folded open so that it was open-air seating. The service was awful, though. I didn’t even know our waiter’s name until we got the check, and he said nothing outside of «what can I get you?» A BIG no-no for me. I don’t mean to sound nasty, but if it’s Friday night and the place is slammed, I’m okay with subpar service, but when it’s the middle of the afternoon and you’re waiting on like 3 other tables, you should at least be FRIENDLY. Is that so much to ask for? Overall, not at all impressed. Don’t plan to return and certainly won’t be recommending to anyone.

This place has an amazing patio in the warm months and a neat table top fire place area for the winter(although kinda creepy to eat with the smell of gas). The food has been a crap shoot. First attempt was the special — scallop salad — sounded amazing… Close to $ 20. What appears was a sad salad with 3, yup 3 scallops. My bad for going with the special. Next attempt — went with the hummus plate to start — not bad, interesting options on the plate. And a cobb salad. Big as my head, i took half home for lunch the next day! The beer. You need to like hoppy ales. IF you do, you are in the perfect spot. If you are a pansy like me that enjoy heff’s or browns or sours… again, you might like some of the beers, your might not. Staff… sometimes they are super friendly, sometimes they appear put upon that you arrived. The ability to figure out who to see about where to sit is weird. The hostess station is hidden in the middle of the restaurant. A place with nearly 5 different ways to sneak in… So you look around apprea lost and some times someone will ask you if you need help. It’s a great location, but it’s not a place i seek on on my many visits to the city.
