Terrible customer service. Phone ordering sucks as well. I’ve ordered from here for their lunch. Is convenient and quick when at work, but twice already they didn’t bring my lunch order. The guy there is very rude and arrogant. Never even apologized for not placing my lunch order. If you order past 11:30am, he will not take your order either and if you order as early as 10:30am he takes the order but won’t bring you anything. They are just simply HORRIBLE!

Amazing empanadas. But brace yourself for slow cooked chicken and even slower service, hyuck hyuck! Gringos, pay attention to how much you get charged. You WILL be scammed out of a buck or two unless you reference the prices printed on their menu.

This small spot makes incredible chicken. The owners live close, so on cold snowy days they are always open. They also open quite early on weekdays, so getting a hot cup of café bustelo is easy. The owners are nice and try to make conversation in English and Spanish. The staff that they have on sometimes don’t speak English so they do come off as rude, but I think its just a language barrier. They do have a few folks that aren’t the best at customer service and they really need to correct that. Their tostones and mangu are outstanding — although not prepared in a Domincan way as you would think. Their pernil(pork) is great too. I’ve never had a meal here I didn’t like and their prices are really low. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that no matter how busy or slow, you always have to wait. The owners and their staff have no sense of urgency nor do they ‘greet’ you when you walk in. Tostones take at least 15 minutes to make — and even if you order them in advance, they still don’t make them until you walk in the door.

Their daily cooked specials — a plate of …(codfish stew, chicken stew, eggplant stew, steak stew, cooked salmon with vegetables, barbecued ribs, oxtail, pernil, and more — varies by day) is EXCELLENT, just out of this world. I clean my plate each time. The above-mentioned, served with a side of Spanish rice(or white rice) and sliced fried banana. Great cooking and great variety. No atmosphere here to speak of, no pretenses, but instead: delicious taste and excellent value.

Terrible customer service, and worse phone courtesy if you don’t speak any Spanish, but hot food is generally good. Just never ever order any deli sandwiches. All of their charcuterie meats are close to spoiled, and the slicers are dirty all the time. I want to love this place, but the hospitality sucks.
