Rituals is a new addition to the growing Smith street cosmetic scene, and quite adorable at that, but the customer service could use some work. I was super psyched about my experience at the store until I went back to return a product(turns out I didn’t need it anymore) and the same sales girl who sold it to me with such kindness took on a bit of an obnoxious persona. It was as if the minute I weren’t making her money she wanted nothing to do with me. Now look, I get it; it all comes down to dollars and cents. But I’m also a customer in your store. Come on, now. The customer service experience aside, Rituals products are overall very nice. Right now I’m using the overnight restoring face cream, the Tao body scrub, the Tao temple soothing gel, and a ton of samples. The overnight face cream burns my skin so it might not be the best for sensitive skin. And the foaming body cleanser samples smell a bit like shaving cream. But the Tao body scrub and temple gel are awesome. The Tao body cream I tried as a sample is nice, too, as is the foot cream. The scented candles are beautiful. In all, it’s a cute place with decent products but I wasn’t totally wowed.
