Never disappointed!!! Has to be my favorite place to eat in Boerne. Great variety on the menu & always delicious. Don’t go when in a hurry, sit out on the patio and take in the amazing surroundings Boerne has to offer.

I was visiting my buddy’s ranch this last weekend and we went here for lunch. I thought this place was perfect. We had the fried green tomatoes and pretzeels for apps. I had their version of a wagu burger and a super dark made in house beer. Sitting on the patio in the sun with great friendly service was just about perfect. We took a few growlers back home with us. Great place.

I have been here six times and the following themes remain consistent: the beer is getting progressively better, the food is good — not great, but coupled with the beer selection, worth a visit for lunch, and the service is marginal at best. The wait staff has a good attitude, but they are just slow and not attentive. We regularly find ourselves flagging down our waiter/waitress for a refill or our check. The woman at the bar, with long gray hair and glasses has been rude to us every time we have been there. She acts like she is doing us a favor by pouring us a beer. If you are not in a hurry, and the weather is nice, I would recommend this place for lunch.

Stopped by this evening for a family dinner. I’m not from this area and I was very impressed. We started off with the fried green tomatoes which were delicious. I ordered the beer sampler which was a great selection of their craft beers on tap. For a dinner entrée, I ordered the beef skewers which had the best marinade I’ve ever tasted. The meal was served with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. The serving size was huge. This meal can easily be shared. Charming local restaurant that I will visit again.

Love the location and the atmosphere. They have the best jalapeño bread and wonderful sangrias! I’ve never been disappointed by this place!

Do not eat here. It sounds good on paper(micro brewery, rotating cask ale, broadly appealing menu), but it doesn’t deliver on the expectation. I ordered the quail and the cask ale, which should have been a great combination. The cask ale was easily the worst beer I have ever had. The freshness I expected wasn’t there, and in its place was a strange plasticky aftertaste. As for the quail, the chef managed to serve an under seasoned dish despite the addition of jalepeno and bacon. Bacon wrapped quail is a Hill Country staple, and it is inexcusable that a chef working in Boerne, TX could not manage what any backyard chef in the area could easily deliver. The other three members in my party were equally unimpressed with their meals which ranged from gulf shrimp skewers to the specialty salad. Save the trip. Try someplace else.

Really warm and friendly atmosphere! Great food, nice wine list. Nice beer list with several tasty ones brewed on site. Outdoor patio is dog friendly for friendly dogs.

5⁄5 would eat here again! Love the atmosphere! Waiters are sweethearts. My 6 year old cousin says«The potato chips are great with ketchup and they have colors that you can draw on the table with!» Got the kids meal chicken tenders with chips and the bean burger(vegan) with sweet potato fries. Delicious! They accept reservations. Got our food very fast and drinks were full throughout our meal. Love the Duck!!!

Just OK. Popular, yes. Good beer selection but food is less than I expected. We came for dinner and it was not the gastropub we had hoped for. Ok, the pretzel was good. The meat and cheese appetizer was pretty limited. My wife had a cheese sampler and it was OK but could have easily been so much better with just swapping out a cheese for something different or adding something else to the plate. I had the quail kabobs as my entrée and they were tasty. Menu is pretty limited if you’re looking for dinner. The waiter, well, he tried but was not too attentive and he couldn’t answer half of the questions.

I live just around the corner and it’s a short walk to this excellent place! The food is always delicious, especially the brats and pretzel, and their various beers brewed on location will always satisfy your thirst. This will always be my local favorite.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon around 12:30 and it was a 30−40min wait. Not bad considering how small the place is. TINY! However, the patio is where it is at anyways. It is open, breezy(a little TOO breezy, the wind blew and a ton of leaves fell in our food and pecan shells that gave a rather unpleasant crunch to our food… just sayin FIXTHAT) and the staff was friendly. We all ordered different entrees, Thai chicken wraps, fish tacos, axis burger, and I had the Heart of Bourne salad with grilled chicken. It was all super yummy and delicious. Parking is small in the back of the restaurant and on the street!

Great location, great greeting, great ambience, service was good. Food was the star– Artichoke dip is legit!- just know that you will need to ask for extra bruschetta for the extraordinary dip. Was disappointed in Korean Beef wraps– If you know bulgogi beef-this wasn’t it. Same could be said about fish(Mahi-Mahi)-seriously lacked flavor However, dinner party raved about how fresh the quail kabobs & jalapeño bread option on the philly. We would come again to try to other menu selections… Thank you!

This place is Amazing, we are from out of town and go out of our way to eat here. We had reservations at 6 but had 2 more friends come with us they were very nice and very accommodating. The waitress that was taking care of us was phenomenal I did not get her name she was about maybe 7 – 8 months pregnant but she was great! Everything that we have tried on the menu has been awesome very full of flavor. Also the apple cider is amazing and if you get a chance grab one of the souvenir glasses

After being here three times, I guess we’re regulars. The food and drink are better than the semi-divey atmosphere. Any place that brews its own beer is a winner, and The Dodging Duck is no exception. In honor of Hatch chili month, their recent brew is infused with Hatch green chilis: awesome! Despite the Germanic name, the fare here is not German. It’s a nice mix of everything and they do it all quite well. Staff are friendly and attentive. Everything we’ve eaten has been fresh and tasty. Private parking lot out back. A fun place to knock back some vino, a microbrew, or some good eats. Stop in and give it a try!

We have been here before, however on this trip, service was not great and the restaurant was really loud. Also, the singer was not good and they could have not had the speakers blaring in everyone’s ears so that the atmosphere was more enjoyable. Besides the atmosphere, the food was ok. We had the artichoke dip, it was not good. Too Much cheese and not much depth to it. The burger was good as well the chili-the chili may have actually been the best thing we had there. Also had the beer flight… The beer was not too impressive.

One of our favorites in Boerne! Great variety on the menu… Bison, chicken chorizo nachos, beef and seafood. Love the Squealing Pig Sauvignon Blanc. Great atmosphere inside or outside. Live music on the weekends. A must try for a casual dinner in Boerne

Went there on a Saturday night, the restaurant was not too crowded. Friends and I got the duck paddle that consisted of four beers brewed in house… beside the pecan flavored beer I was not impressed. The hamburgers were good but not for the price and the waiters were taking way too long to take out orders and refill our drinks. We decided not to stay for dessert after that. I’m not sure if we were too close to the speakers or what but it was way too loud for us and we were in a smaller room with only one party next to us, so yes very annoying that we could not hear each other and the guest singer that night was shy of terrible. You won’t see me here again

If you’re up in Boerne, definitely make a stop at the Dodging Duck. Service is friendly, views are beautiful, food is delicious, and beer is good. We stopped here for lunch on a weekday, so they offered lunch specials like soup + salad, etc. These are a great deal! Most of my party ordered some sort of lunch special, and we were all very pleased with our choices. My mom and I both ordered vegetarian sandwich options as part of our combos, so we were able to share a half of our half sandwiches… and we still had plenty of sandwich to share. My hubs and I also shared a flight of their beers, so I feel like I really got to have the full Dodging Duck experience in this one visit!(Although I’d love to go back!) We had five people in our party, and all of us left satisfied. Pretty impressive for our varied tastes! And after enjoying a delicious lunch, we were able to enjoy a beautiful walk by the river across the street. Just lovely!

I was invited by a business client to meet at The Dodging Duck Brewhaus for a lunch time business meeting. Great atmosphere and excellent food. I had one of their hamburgers and it was a great serving size, very fresh and fries were very good. My client had been here several times and is one of their favorite places to go. I’ll definitely be heading back to check out their beer selection and to enjoy sitting outside watching the ducks in the city park across the street.

Today I had the beef medallions plate. Two large prime medallions over wild rice and sautéed vegetables. The tapas size is $ 17.95. Plenty of food. There IS a larger plate. Good grief. Comes with avocado butter and a chimichurri sauce. Both really good, especially the avocado butter. Creamy.
