I absolutely hate leaving less than a stellar review for any business but, I feel I need to prevent another family from going through what we are… I hear Marlene is a gifted dog trainer and that’s great. This review has zero to do with her training services. It is ALL about her boarding service & situation.
Upon leaving our three dogs with her, I found it odd that she never requested our dogs shot records or even asked. Never asked about their health issues info etc. No paperwork. Nothing! We should have said never mind and left right then. Instead we dropped them off. I deeply regret this decision and feel awful for my babies. Her boarding services were recommended to us by a valued, trusted and savvy friend after all… and her dog has had no issues there. I wish that was our case.
Sooooo…after four days of boarding, we picked them up. All three were stressed, dirty, itching and extremely thirsty. As if that’s not enough, the following morning the vomiting and extreme diarrhea started. A panicked Vet visit and $ 1300 (yep, that’s right) later all three have the parasite Giardia. This parasite is aggressive and infects quickly. Dogs become very ill within 5 days from exposure. You can do the math here. I’m absolutely furious and beyond upset. More so, I feel awful for my sick dogs! Almost two weeks later and they’re still not 100% well. Be careful where you board. We have learned our lesson beyond measure.
