Unfriendly staff with subpar food! I really wanted to like this place too. Next time I will have to pass it on up.

We have been coming to this restaurant since 1998. I am so sorry to say, the changes in Boerne have affected this once quaint eatery. The main issue is its dirty and the staff are incredibly rude. The wait staff act like you are doing them a favor by allowing them to wait on you. So awful that going to Yolis two doors down is your absolute best bet. So sad to see this!!!

Anyone who gives this place more than one star is seriously missing out on good Mexican food. But hell, I could’ve gone to Taco Bueno and gotten better Mexican food AND better service.
This place was awful. It was dirty and the service was just as bad as the food.
I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that requires you to purchase chips and salsa.
But the worst thing we had here was the margarita. It was absolutely awful. How can a Mexican restaurant screw up a margarita??? I think they put the salt in the actual drink.
Please spare yourself and find ANYWHERE ELSE to eat while you’re in Boerne.

Food was average, but the cockroach crawling on the wall next to my son was the topper…#disgusting

6:30 pm and it’s closed, go figure, this place just shouting LAZINESS, from the filthy bathroom, dirty tables, waitstaff that ignore you, and the food sucks, just great

Killer tacos. Tortillas-​Wowza! Great food and that’s what matters. Never had anything I didn’t love. My favorite spot in Boerne!

Very flavorful, delicious food. Chile rellenos, green chicken enchiladas, rice, beans, beef tacos were excellent. The restaurant is a bright and cheerful place with white walls and red trim. The staff is attentive and pleasant.

The food is consistently good and like mi abuela, if I had an abuela, would make it. The staff is competent but not chit chatty. I can only think people call them rude because they are direct. If I’ve ever had to wait, it’s because they are extremely busy at certain times. I’ve never left feeling like my business was not appreciated. We will continue to enjoy Mague’s, hoping to one day visit when George Strait is also enjoying the fare.

Been here several times. Good food, good prices, good service. Usually lots of folks on the weekend in the AM. Will definitely be back.

GO FOR THE BREAKFAST TACOS! But don’t dine in unless you want to wait forever and have terrible coffee while talking over the people sitting inches away from you. I’m not a fan of their day menu or anything that isn’t breakfast-​taco-​related lol! But still every time I visit Boerne we grab some morning tacos and run down the road to the Starbucks for coffee!

While visiting Boerne a few years ag, we stumbled upon this place when our intended venue had closed down. What a wonderful surprise, it was great. Then last fall we were disappointed to find it closed, they were relocating. We were delighted to find it open this year & delighted to find the food was still excellent! The place is a dive, but the food is incredibly good! Definitely where we will eat anytime we are in Boerne!
Be forewarned, the hottest salsa is hot! But it is so good I can’t get enough of it!

Great food and service! We have been here twice now and the food has been fresh and amazing! I’ve eaten the Popurry Plate both times now and it’s been wonderful! This will for sure be a regular spot for my family.

I am not sure of the appeal of this place. The food is okay. The tables are so close it is hard to get in between them. We had to pay for refills on drinks and chips/​salsa. Service is rude and they ignored us except to deliver our food. There are better places to eat in Boerne with much nicer service.

Rude RUDE! Everyone person that worked here was rude. Even so bad that the server tossed the hot plate at a4yr old. When my friend spoke to the owner she said THATS HOW WE ARE AND WE REMAIN BUSY! I could see ignoring stupid people maybe if the food was outstanding but it’s not even good! Wish I could put a — rating

The best Mexican food in Boerne by far. Customer service is good for with the ladies!

This is my first time here. I was looking for a place that served menudo and this place came up. I am not disappointed at all. The tortillas both corn and flour are homemade. I ordered a potatoes and chorizo taco, a barbacoa taco, and menudo. I did ask for more hominy than men I do and as usual got more menu do than hominy. But the food was all oh so delicious. It really hit the spot. Me new fav place.
The place was also packed! That is usually a good sign and it was! Service wasn’t too bad either.

Best breakfast tacos in town! Definitely a must when we’re in Boerne. Parking is a little tight, but you can make it work.
It’s not a dirty place. It’s an older, country town restaurant with charm. It is, however, almost always crowded for taco reasons.

I’m a huge fan of this local, family owned, hole in the wall, Mexican joint. Been going to Magues’s (pronounced Maggie’s) for 20+ years and it never disappoints. Their tortillas are killer and they serve breakfast all day.
Pick anything on the menu. It’s all good.

I came to visit my mother in Beorne for the weekend, and we decided on the afternoon I was leaving we wanted Mexican food. My mom suggested this place and I was quite excited when we first drove up because from the outside its a small old homey restaurant. One of those where you can tell the food is home made and delicious.
When you first go in its a little odd because you seat Yourself but there is no sign so things get a big confusing. And if your not a regular or a local you kind of feel like a fool.
The over all appearance of the restaurant is interesting with all kinds of rink a dink mexicAn memorabilia decorated all over the walls. Its a bit dirty but nothing that stands out and makes you not want to eat there.
The menus are are the glass in the tables so no need to ask for them. They have a wide variety of breakfast tacos, regular tacos chalupas etc
I was a little bummed bc what’s the best thing about any Mexican restaurant? The chips and salsa, well here you have to ask and buy your own that aren’t even good.
Our food was flavorless and not that great. The tortillas were delicious as well as the beans. But over all a fail.
