Herbst Veterinary Hospital PC

Took our dog in for neutering. Very friendly staff and caring people. One Big problem we notify them of all our dogs paperwork and Chris did not follow through. He did not inform the doctor about shots. So my dog got Rabbi shots he didn’t need. When I came to pick our dog up I was tooled our dog received Raby shots I was furious. It’s too bad you have personnel like Chris not following through with instructions. Our dog had a three-​year rabies shot six months ago. Now he’s doubled up on Raby shots they’re not happy about that.

We live in San Antonio but bc of the amazing service we have received here we make the 30 — 45 minute trip when we need our dogs (Madison and Ruffis) check ups and any medical attention. As soon as you walk-​in you are greeted with warm smiles and enthusiasm. The waiting area is clean and full of nice local folks.
The Vet techs and Doctors are always very nice, professional and make your and your pets visit fun and inviting! (As you can see from our selfie:) The always take time to answer all our questions, we never feel rushed and our animals always love to see them… SPRAY CHEESE! LOL If you dont get that then you have not been here and are missing out!

I’ve been taking my pets here since moving to the San Antonio area a year ago and I am very happy with this vet hospital. My dog is has some health issues and Herbst, specifically Dr. Shaw, worked with me to get my dog the right treatment she needed. She understood my concerns, always provided me with detailed information regarding treatment options, etc and understood when I was being an overly nervous «parent». They also have a good relationship with pet medication companies to help you get meds specifically tailored for your animal. Herbst has a great website that allows you to view your pets’ records and see when they are coming due for shots. However, even if you don’t look online, they are great about sending email reminders to help you keep track. Any issues I have had with Herbst were quickly addressed and dealt with (minor issues are bound to happen at any location). I would definitely recommend Herbst as a vet clinic, especially if your pet has specific health needs.
