This place is a hidden gem great service amazing history behind the buildings. The little shop inside is cool you’ll probably see the lazy cat he’s not for sale he actually looks dead until it stretches and goes back to sleep. I’m coming back very soon with my DSLR camera and gonna have a photo field day. This place has great lighting amazing texture it’s a must see only $ 5 to help maintain this place well worth it.

This is a must see on the way into Lake Isabella. Very rustic setting which takes you bake to the days of the old west. Antiques are everywhere and the store has a genuine down to earth feel. I would highly recommended this to those of all ages! Watch out for the ghost who still haunt the old jail!

I don’t believe in ghosts, but I wanted to take a small child somewhere fun. $ 5.50 per adult, kid was free. It’s kind of a mish mash of buildings that have been brought here, but it’s still cool. Little papers talk about the history of each one and you can go inside some of them. The front is a little antique shop which had some interesting stuff and the owner and cat were cool. I mean, obviously that cat was cool. He’s a cat. If you’re coming up from Bakersfield to Isabella or Kern River, it’s like a 5 minute detour. Worth it if you have kids or aren’t too cool for ghost towns.

Honestly, Silver City Ghost Town was disappointing. Run down and trashy looking, it reminds me of the old tourist traps along Route 66. If youare bored this might be an option. Also kids might like it. Otherwise there are far better things to do in the area than this place.

What a great little slice of Americana! The family was enjoying a river trip on the Kern and I had read about interesting places in the area to see — Silver City was just too cool to pass up. Took our 8 year old twins there and they really enjoyed the antique shop and meeting Izzy the cat and owner Paul and listening to his ghost sightings and experiences. We toured the buildings and read the fascinating history of each one as we walked around. We’d recommend asking Paul if he can show you his clip from when Silver City was featured on the Biography channel. All in all, if you are in the area I’d say this is not to be missed. We would love to come up in the fall and take a night tour.

Really cool little ghost town that is well documented and run by a very knowledgeable descent who rocks out to the Rolling Stones in the antique store(which is really cool) that is the entry to the ghost town. Check it out and then get BBQ a few doors down(the descent sent us that way and we were blown away by the little place and how excellent the food was).

It was much smaller than I had imagined. $ 5.50 per adult The buildings had been moved to this location, so the ghost town is kind of a hodgepodge. But, it was neat and worth a stop if you are in the area.

What an AMAZING location for collecting Antiques or visiting an authentic Ghost Town painstakingly recreated with actual buildings moved from all over the West. Most of the old Ghost Town’s are now long gone but, many of the old towns buildings have been moved here. If you are into the Paranormal, whether day or night, there is an unprecedented amount of activity of all kinds. Spending an hour taking pictures will just about guarantee a number of light anomalies, spirit faces, or even full body apparitions! This place is a must see for any serious or amature ‘ghost hunter’ visiting the SoCal area! Take a look at all the guest submitted photos on their Facebook page. You will be amazed!

Total mind f***! I was a bit unnerved but the kids were terrified. The door creaking made my arm hair rise. The owner was very nice and the gift shop was charming. My daughter was enamored with an early 19th century key that she had to have.

Awesome private ghost town with many buildings from across Kern County’s various old mining towns. I learned a lot from this place about the local history.

One of the 6th most haunted places In America. Lots of cool antiques in the front of the museum that are for purchase. Head to the back where the city is located. Head to then jail where the owner was stating most people experience paranormal activity such as hair being pulled, pinching and or being tapped, I didn’t experience anything but I did have a great time and the owner Paul was nice and very informative on the history and paranormal activity that is on the property.

Silver City Ghost Town is the hidden treasure of the Kern River Valley. Jay is a great guy with many, many amazing stories of the history of the valley and also the paranormal activity at the ghost town. I captured several orbs in my pictures and had various other experiences during my visit. The antique shop is also filled with amazing finds and unique historical items. I highly recommend a visit!

I just love Silver City Ghost town. Jay really gives you the full effect of being a real cowboy and ton’s of great history. Love his co-host/cat docent Izzy the paranormal cat… lol That cat will herd the tour along and keep things moving and fun. We go there every year to visit. Jay is a class act and very professional. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

Wow, I didn’t know one of my favorite places had a Unilocal page, so here’s my two cents. Silver City Ghost Town is a great place to visit when heading to the Kern River or Lake Isabella or a great day trip in itself. They have an awsome antique store at the entrance and then for about five dollars you can enter and walk thru the«town». At this point I must digress for a moment to mention the«tour guide» Izzy, the ghost town cat. He’s a beautiful big tabbycat that will approach guests and walk them thru the property. He’s done this on each of my visits and it never ceases to amaze me how he stays with us until we get ready to leave, then he excuses himself and walks off to find a shady spot to nap. To get back to the«town», it’s a great collection of historic buildings that are being preserved at this location. They are all furnished with items from the turn of the century and scattered about the town are additional antique items. If your a history buff, you’ll love this place. I’d like to mention that even though I’m not a big ghost fan, I did feel spirits in some of the buildings and I did have some orbs on some pics I took. Stop by and say hi to Izzy…

A superb place to go and take in a piece of history as well as get some INCREDIBLEEVP’s and captures from ghosts that linger in the area! Thanks for a great time! South Bay Paranormal

As the DUKE I feel obligated to review– Had a blast each time we visit– Live right up the road. The only thing I thought was funny is the many photos posted at the entrance with dust spots that came through during processing the film. They are not spirits or ghosts. Just dust people. :-) My favorite building is the Jail– Where you can see how they chained up criminals and all of the scratches on the wood floor = SCARY!

Pretty cool place to check out if you’re already near Kernville or Lake Isabella, but definitely not a destination spot on its own. The ghost town is pretty small, but it’s preserved so well and it’s fun to explore. The antique shop in front of the ghost town is awesome — lots of interesting treasures. Ask the shop owner to tell you ghost stories about Silver City — he’s got some good ones. Well worth my $ 5.50.

very cool place to check out if youre on your way to Sequoia or Lake Isabella. There is a well-stocked antique shop that sells all kinds of cool trinkets. Behind that you have the Silver city ghost town. You pay a $ 5.50 admission fee and get to walk around and see really old buildings that were saved, preserved, and moved here from various gold mining communities in the area. you can go into some of the structures. everything was a bit creepy, but you also learn some things about history. definitely worth the time.

A unique collection of old building and artifacts. You need to have JC tell some stories to make the visit interesting.

Worth a stop if you are in the area, and a must-see if you are a «Deadwood» fan! Silver City has a bunch of old-West buildings arranged as a street off the main road, it looks just like a movie set! There is a bunch of antiques, and a store. Plenty of great photo opportunities, I just wish they had some costumes you could borrow ;) This is a nice opportunity to visit a «ghost town» without finding yourself hundreds of miles in the middle of a desert. Plenty of places to stay and have fun nearby, especially Kernville a few miles north.
