Veterans Park Community Center

Nice small playground. It was clean. The big hit with the kids was that it’s in sand instead of mulch, so they played in it like a giant sandbox.

This is a decent sized park on the south side of Palmetto Park, between Lyons and 441. There are two entrances, one located at a light. It’s a quiet park. There are lots of trees for plenty of shade.
I love coming here because there isn’t really a huge crowd of people here. I can bring the boys here to play basketball, tennis, soccer and still have time to go to the playground area without having to worry about tons of people around. I don’t really like large crowds. I tend to shy away from parks with TONS of people. This park is perfect.
The bathrooms are clean. It’s a clean park. They’re renovating a football field. It seems like they erected the goal posts several months back though. I’m not sure when they will finish the field. They have signs posted to stay off of the field. Hopefully, it will be finished soon.
They have a picnic area with an abundance of shade from huge oak and pine trees. The trees are beautiful. We haven’t ventured onto the trail, but it doesn’t seem very long. We probably will check it out eventually. We are starting to make this one of our regular spots. It’s excellent that they keep up with the park and make sure things are well-​maintained.
I wouldn’t worry about the people parked in their cars. They don’t bother anyone. The only thing I would be concerned with are the amount of bees in the area. If you’re allergic, I would make sure to keep EpiPen on hand or allergy medicine. I’m not allergic, but I keep allergy medicine in my bag for the boys and myself. It’s just an intelligent move that I recommend everyone follow. I’ve even thought about buying a pack of smokes to put in a bag, just in case of a bee or wasp sting. I’m not a smoker, but the tobacco is great for stings. It’s really disgusting if you’ve ever had to chew it up to apply to a sting. Yuck. Be cautious out here, bee and wasp stings are awful. I have been stung, oh, about 10 to 15 times throughout my life. Oh, fyi, I’ve never seen a wasp out here, but the tobacco can be put on wasp stings also… or yellow-​jackets, etc.
This is a quaint park. We enjoy it VERY much. Check it out if you’re in the mood for some quiet time outside. During the day is the best time. Enjoy!

This is a small park right off of Palmetto. They have a picnic area and a few small playgrounds and a large basketball area. Nothing really special about this park and the walking trail isn’t really that great. I took my dog and we walked the picnic area circle on a Saturday afternoon and the good thing was there aren’t many people there so my dog isn’t distracted. The bad thing was the few cars that were parked there were either people who were sleeping in and or outside of their car (homeless? not sure they had clothes hanging on the car too) and younger kids hanging out or hooking up lol again not sure I just walked my dog and left.

This is a nice local part in West Boca. Nothing special, some tennis courts, basketball courts, and soccer field, all well lit.
There are quite a number of picnic tables, widely spaced, but the trees are not that aged, so shade can be spotty and the park feels a bit empty.
There’s a VFW here, too.
