I have been going here for 15+ years. Best deli in Boca & all of Florida. Best staff & owners who REALLY care. Scott P(Philly)

What can I say about V&S that so many people must have said on here already. I don’t care, this is my review. Hands down my favorite Italian sub and Italian bread for the sub. Walk into V&S and you may find a great special for the day as well, I find special items there not often that are no disappointment. Lets talk about the arancini they make here; Enormous, breaded to perfection and cheesey. V&S is a for sure stop for all locals and if you’re visiting make it a point to go. Got pasta options, great on the spot dishes they can make as well. There’s a reason this place has been a staple in Boca, staff has been the same forever and it’s a solid group back there with all the insane rushes they get. No complaints thanks V&S.

I was in town for the day and wanted to find a place for a sandwich close to my client’s office. V&S was just what I was looking for — quick place to get a Hoagie/Sub. The place was smaller than I was expecting and was going to be meeting a colleague but she didn’t make it in time. Probably for the best as there’s very limited seating and it was raining so one of the tables could not be used outside. On to the food, the place is a little helter skelter with order taking and who is doing what but man is it worth it. I almost always go for an Italian Sub anywhere I go so that’s what I got — the small which was more than plenty. The cheese and meat were piled high on a really nice Italian seeded loaf of bread. There was some type of hot sauce/relish that really made the sandwich. This is one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in very, very long time so would highly recommend!

Don’t mess with da’ best subs in Palm Beach county. I love the florentine and I make my own which consist of prosciutto, spicy soppressata, fresh mozzarella, lettuce and hot cherry peppers. Mmmmmm — simply delicious.

Went today for the best Italian«hero» sandwich I’ve had since I left the Bronx years ago. I was with my Dad who is 90 and the owner asked if he fought in world war II. I said, Oh yeah and we are out today because he loves memorial day, remembering his youth, and telling stories about the war. When the order came the owner looked at me and said, this sandwich for your dad is on us. Thank him for serving! Man!!! what great guys! Their food is just simply great! And what great businessmen as well! I thank you with all my heart and taste buds.

Best Italian deli in south florida, hands down. Sometimes it can take a little long to get your food, but that’s understandable.

There is a reason a line forms at 1130am and there are 8 people behind this tiny counter making sandwiches… Because these are best damn sandwiches in all of South Florida. First of all, it’s the bread. A speed rack full of fresh made sesame seed super baguettes roll in, early in the morning. By noon they are gone… Beautifully baked, perfect crumb, golden crusted, smells of the fresh Goodness that only comes from a small batch oven, sprinkled with sesame seeds and about 2 feet long. You MUSTREQUEST this bread for your sandwich or there is no point in living anymore. Secondly, it’s the fillings. Okay, so it’s an Italian sandwich shop, how hard can that be right? Well, these guys and gals know what they are doing. Watch how the fresh slice all the fillings, not like at subway where everything comes pre portioned and flat packed between two pieces of wax paper… NO. They slice all the meats fresh for you, and when they slice, watch how they layer the meats, folded over, giving body and texture to the sandwich for each bite. When you take a bite from a V&S sandwich you always pull away just the right amount of filling, just perfect. Third, the quality of meats, lettuce, tomato, pickle, everything is top notch. No cheap meats, only flavor and quality. Fourth, selection. Hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, pasta dishes… You want a sandwich hot? No problem. Want it cold? Done. You want to mix and match? Anyways you want it they will do it, no questions asked. And price? Order a large, you can barely eat half at lunch and you have the other half for diner, 12 bucks, done. See you in line.

This is the best deli in the area hands down. I always get the italian combo sub and it is wonderful. Every time I’m in Boca I come here at least twice for lunch. Everything here is great, even the pasta. It is always crowded so get ready to wait a little for your food. The people here are all very friendly. Great place!

You know how people say that if you have sex on ecstasy that it is so incredible that it will ruin sex for you forever. Sadly I can’t speak from experience, but a similar thing could be said about the sandwiches at V&S. They will ruin other sandwiches for you forever. You will eat other sandwiches and think to yourself«look at what I’ve settled for, look at what I’ve chosen to consume when V&S is in existence, look at what a loser I have become». I’m not sure what anyone could complain about except for that at lunch time there is often a wait, shocking, a wait at the best lunch place in town.

Best deli in Boca. Every time I go and try something new I always love it. I usually always call ahead and place my order to avoid the long line but it’s amazing!

This is the type of place you find up north aka an old school Italian deli where everyone behind the counter is a character. There’s a steady stream of customers all day long which speaks to their loyal following. I am partial to the Italian combo samwhich and I like that their variation includes chopped onions, not long thing rings. He bread is tasty, which is important for a samwhich. Recommended. Other Italian delicacies also available. If you are craving that taste of up North, come here.

So the search for the best place to get hoagies in the South Florida area can just end here. Thank you Unilocalers for helping me find this little gem. The seeded Italian roll is really what makes it so amazing. My husband took a bite and said, is this even real life!!! Bread is just different down here. Pretzels, pizza dough, bagels… it’s just different and I can’t explain it so to find a shop down here that makes bread that is very reminiscent of Philly’s Sarcone’s just blows my mind. V & S gets crazy busy around lunch time. I tried calling multiple time around 1pm one day and the line was just busy. Did they just decide to take the phone off the hook or are they seriously just bombarded with phone calls? The day I ordered, decided to call around 10:30am. Placed my order and they stated 50 minutes. That is a really long time for a cold sandwich. Good thing I called early. The little market is super tiny. They do have some counter seats by the door but I can see it getting really crowded in here. There were about 8 people waiting for their order and I was starting to feel claustrophobic. Even though I called in the order, it still took about 10 minutes to retrieve once I got there. And it didn’t even appear to be that busy at the moment. They definitely move at their own pace and I guess when you are that good, people will still come with the expectation that perfection just takes time. I ordered the Large Italian and I recommend you do the same.

We were looking for a ‘quick’ bite to eat while traveling from Miami to Boynton beach. However apparently ‘quick’ is all relative depending on where you are from. I was a but disappointed in the slow service we received here. The food itself would be a solid 4 stars but the 30+ min wait for a sub at around 2 pm seemed a bit crazy and caused me to drop my total review to a 3. The sandwich was quite tasty, large portions and good quality ingredients. My wife and I split a large sub, and finished it all.

I’ve been expanding my horizons and trying new places in 2016. V & S has been on the list for a few months and I finally made it. Located in a random strip mall in Boca, entry and parking were both pretty easy. I got there shortly after noon so there wasn’t much of a line luck other Unilocalers have mentioned. I looked over the menu board from their selection of hot and cold sandwiches. I decided on an Italian Combo and had it on hard Italian bread. Loaded with lots of Boar’s Head fresh cold cuts and topped with fresh veggies, the only thing I skipped was the oil and vinegar dressing. I opted for mayo instead. While waiting for my sub I looked over the freshly made salads in the cooler. My sandwich seemed to be ready before most of the others that had ordered ahead of me, so I presume they all ordered hot sandwiches. I grabbed a drink from the cooler and paid the bill, $ 9.93 not a bad deal. Seating is limited along the wall inside, maybe 7 – 8 bar stools. Outside not much more but I was able to grab a high top and enjoy my sandwich on the porch on a beautiful afternoon. I’ll definitely return, sandwich was amazing!

For so many years, my fiancé and his brother would always say that V & S Italian Deli & Subs were the BEST in town! And by town, I should specify the distance between Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale(which is huge). I always thought they were full of BS since I was«one of those» who thought Laspada’s Original Hoagies was the BEST but man was I wrong… I can now honestly say — V & S Italian Deli & Subs are the BEST in town! Last weekend my fiancé and I ventured out to Boca Raton. We waited almost 20 minutes in line before placing our order. My fiancé and I shared a large Italian combo on fresh Italian bread, but we added prosciutto and subbed provolone cheese for fresh mozzarella cheese(his brother’s AWESOME recommendation). We also shared a ¼lb of homemade pasta salad. One bite into the sandwich and I knew this was really the BEST! One bite into the sandwich and I could already taste the fresh ingredients such as the Italian bread and the mozzarella cheese. I literally couldn’t believe I’d been missing out on this AMAZING creation for so long. When you think of an Italian sandwich; you think of the basic ingredients, but this place just brings it to a whole new level. Since they are a deli, they do sell other things besides AMAZING sandwiches. Some things they sell include: Boar’s Head lunch meat by the pound, Italian pastries, Italian breads, fresh pastas and fresh entrees. And they even cater!

Worth the wait. Ordered carryout for lunch about a week ago. Started calling between 11 am and 11:30 am — had to call a dozen plus times to get through. Need to call earlier(i.e. 10:30 am). By the time, we got through, it was 1 hr 15 minute wait for subs. Turned out to be even longer. Italian(Semolina) bread still fantastic. Ordered two maple turkeys and two Chicken Parms. $ 46.95. Large chicken parm is two meals. Maybe order«small» next time? Kids had one of the turkey subs — too big for them to get their mouth around so they picked it apart and mostly just ate the turkey. Other turkey sub had lettuce, tomato, roasted red peppers, salt and pepper plus olive oil dressing. Good.

This is the sub place you want to hit. We have debates in the office all the time over best sushi, best NY pizza and best subs. But anyone who has actually been V&S knows that it beats all the top sub shops. I stopped in yesterday picking up subs. There was multiple lines twisting all around the shop.(always call ahead). It will hit you right away if you have been to a NY deli or if you have imagined one that it has that vibe. A little bit of barking back and forth and a lot of hustle. We ordered 11 things an hour ahead. When I got to the front, bypassing everyone with a touch of guilt, the order was completely ready. Throw in a few drinks at the last minute and I was out! Once back and the spread was laid out it was declared there was zero mistakes. I had asked for a dish not on the menu, sausage and peppers with baked ziti. It was incredible. The bread that came with it and the bread of all the subs is crispy legit. It holds up for later leftovers like no others. The subs I have had here, specifically the special, are top quality. The meats pop, and fixings are crisp. Everything is prepped same day so freshness is undeniable. La Spada. Plenty good D’best? Pretty good But hands down V&S from fixing to meats to breads beats em all.
