It’s a bit pricey but it’s one of the better Greek places I have found. I love their gyros and lemon potatoes which is usually what I get. The hummus they serve is also very good(although some days its better than others). Service is usually adequate though not amazing. Overall this is where I go when I want to get my Greek on.

Warning! Groupon customers beware! This business does not honor its own Groupons it offers. I went into Taverna Kyma with a valid Groupon for the appropriate day of the week… and was surprised when the owner refused to accept it at the end of our meal. He states that the Groupon issued was a mistake and said it was a technical glitch that the Groupon was posted to begin with. Extremely embarrassing and frustrating situation(I had a guest with me). The owner made no effort to resolve the issue and instead put the burden on me. He said he would honor it at a later time the follow month if I came back(after the expiration date) but didn’t trust that. I eventually called and got a Groupon refund but wanted to warn others of this«trick» being played upon customers. I still had to pay out of my pocket the bill for the food that day. It’s a shame because we have enjoyed the food there for years. Surprised he is allowed to still sell and market his restaurant on Grouoon.

I have eaten here several times and always enjoyed the experience. Sometimes it’s a little noisy and the belly dancer… Meh…But I digress. I was looking forward to a big Greek feed an hour after getting off a plane from The Bahamas where the food was generally… um…bloody awful. I was in a five star mood. Kyma is a nice venue, the family who runs the place are very nice people with a definite desire to make their guests happy. Our young waiter was, although a little inexperienced, very attentive, courteous and efficient. A feature of Kyma is the fresh made(on the premises) pita bread and humus. It sets you up for a great meal. They don’t serve non-alcoholic beer and, in my book, that’s a negative. I like a good beer and I drive. There are some excellent non-alcoholic beers around these days and every restaurant should have it on the list… Again I digress. The salad was excellent. The grilled egg plant, wonderful and the lamb ribs, sensational. Kyma has the best lamb shanks and I would normally order these, but my partner urged me to try the Thallasino. «Oakey-dokey» said I.‘I’ll have a bash at the lobster, scallops, shrimp, mussels and calamari in the tomato, vodka and garlic sauce thingy”. Well it was nice, but probably not $ 35 nice. and here’s why. There was one scallop and it was a little tasteless. There were two shrimps and the lobster was just a little brat… far too small to be away from its Mom and Dad. There was a lot of calamari and the whole dish was surrounded by the world’s smallest mussels. The maitre’d popped around to ask how things were and seeing as she asked, we informed her politely that there was a definite deficiency in the scallop department. She offered to provide more but we had eaten enough and were not angling for freebies. Anyway, she returned some time later with a scallop and a shrimp. It was a sincerely nice gesture. But the scallop was raw in the middle. Oops. However I am needs driven to tell the truth and that’s how it was. But, it would be unfair to judge this excellent restaurant on this experience alone. It is a fairly expensive restaurant and the value for money is usually at the top end of the scale. I like Kyma in Boca and will go again… I salivate at the thought of the marinated shanks of the little wooly chaps… MMMMM.

I took 6 people there on Jan. 20th2016, we have eaten there many times during the past 3 years and were always satisfied. This time it was terrible. The service was horrible, the waiters didn’t seem to know what to do. We had to ask for everything we needed, they didn’t ask us if everything was OK. The lamb was hardly eatable(overdone). They seem to be short staffed alot. Not acceptable for a well know restaurant. Unfortunately they lost 6 customers that night. Jerry C(Delray Beach)

I live close by this restaurant and always go there! This place is amazing! Everything I ever ate there is super tasty! The ambience is very greek and i fell like home there! The staff is always very polite and the service is always good! They have a belie dancer some nights of the week! My favorites are the athenian shrimp, the greek salad and the spinach pie. Ah, they have this greek desert made of honey and nuts that if u left a space for it, worth the calories! Tip: try to go on week days or sunday, it’s been getting packed!

I’ve posted about this place before but I really cannot say it enough… Taverna Kyma is delicious!!! Hands down the best Greek food in the area. They serve fresh pita and hummus, everything I’ve ordered has always been so flavorful and they have some of the freshest most delicious tomatoes. When I leave there I can still taste the delicious flavored and the staff are so friendly.

I feel bad only giving them four stars. Very kind people and great décor. We were sitting at the bar and they may have been short staffed because when the dining room filled up the service dropped. Food was excellent and the drinks were okay. Plenty of convenient parking in a nice neighborhood. Overall, it is a very nice and well run restaurant. I will definitely be back soon,

First of all, when making a reservation check, double-check, and confirm that the reservation is in their computer. On two occasions we made reservations, and on both times we arrived only to be told«We don’t have any reservations in your name.» Noise: unbearable. Screaming kids. Lots of drunk New Yorkers, getting drunker by the hour. Many cackling women will drive you nuts. You will not be able to hear any conversation at your table. Food is OK, but that’s it. Lamb ribs were raw. «Pork Medallions» on the menu came as pork chops. On the bill they were called«Pork Roast.» Manager did not have any excuse for the absence of actual pork tenderloin medallions. Non-negotiable tip was added to bill when we had only 6 people. We will not be returning.

Taverna Kyma has terrible service & an arrogant manager by the name of Peter. Watching table after table being seated and served before your own party became more frustrating by the moment. Not once did the waiter, Niko, nor the manager, Peter, ever come by to let us know that our food would be out shortly or an apology for the wait. To see a table of 8 sit down 15 minutes after our party, get served, receive their bill, was frustrating. Sitting there for exactly 1 hr was my mistake. Should have left sooner. The manager might be an employee so he keeps his s job. It’s a real shame as there are much better people who would do a better job. Taverna Kyma — arrogance.

Great Greek food served in a warm friendly environment. Attentive service and authentic Greek cuisine make Taverna Kayma a standout in the Boca area. We started with the grilled octopus, fried smelts and greek salad… all great. Main dishes were Dorado, Branzino and lamb chops which were also perfect. Well done Taverna Kayma!

Food: Salad was fresh and satisfying. The poikilia dips were good. The filet mignon and pork tenderloin dishes were fresh and tasty but a bit salty. The galaktopouriko dessert seemed stale and definitely not as good as the entrees. Décor: Wooden tables in rows and wooden chairs. Interior made to look as though u were eating outdoors on an Aegean island. Ambience: Diners dress casually. There was a belly dancer the evening I was there so the place was crowded and the music was loud but not deafening. Service: Waiter was attentive and polite. Cost: One salad, one appetizer, two glasses of wine, two meat entrees, and one dessert and coffee came to $ 51. Reasonable and about what one would expect. Would I go again: Yes

Food was very tasty when I finally ordered something they had; they were out of the first two things I ordered. There were three of us and our meals came out at three different intervals. Just very unorganized. Will not be going back anytime soon.

Good stuff, great service, always a good value especially at happy hour. All the staples are served here with occasional really good specials. Best to get there early because they fill up.

I have dreams about their marinated, Grilled Octopus. It’s that good. Their complimentary hummus also blows my socks off. They’ve got a great selection of wines, I love sampling their Greek whites. I can’t recall specifically the vintage, but I had one I LOVED from Santorini. We usually bring a group every time I’m in town, and I’ve sampled a variety of their offerings. Great Bulgarian Feta on their Greek Salad, great Chicken Wings, and an AMAZING Mixed Grill Salad at lunch. I finally got dessert this last visit, and that Galaktobureko was rich, custardy, and delectable. I wish I lived closer! We’d be in every week!

In this area, this place serves really good Greek food if you are in the mood and looking for one while in the area. There is indoor and outdoor seating(but the mosquitoes are terrible). The waiter that served my guests and me was soft spoken but he got our sarcastic humor. The food is well flavored but heavy. Try not to eat so much of the bread, chips and hummus that they serve you or else you won’t be able to eat the rest of the entrees. Salads and appetizers are really good here. We made the mistake of eating so much bread, chips and hummus that all we could order was salad and soups for our entrée. Speaking of soups, their portion size is ridiculously large. One soup could feed at least 4 mouths so bring the whole family!

Taverna Kyma has a really fun upbeat atmosphere. On a recent Saturday night, there was a beautiful woman dancing and agreeably posing for cellphone pictures with diners as she made her way through the dining room. The energy was nice, even if the music was perhaps a bit loud and the tables jammed together cheek to jowl. It’s also REALLY dark in there. I’m all for atmosphere, but I’d like to be able to see the food on my plate also. The restaurant generously supplies every table with hummus served mortar and pestle style. It’s not actually so easy to portion out the hummus with this pestle, but the hummus is tasty and its accompanying pita warm and fresh. On the down side, once our glasses were dry, it was nearly impossible to get new drinks. Our waiter disappeared for long stretches of time. The food was also sadly not so good. I ordered a scallops entrée that was described as being served with tomatoes and other vegetables. What I didn’t bargain on was so much grease and oil in the dish. The oil made the dish very heavy and took away all the freshness of the vegetables and scallops(a few of which contained some grit, too, I’m sorry to report). I don’t think I’ll go there again at dinner. My lunch experiences(Greek salads & wraps) have been better – and quieter.

I checked out this place for lunch with a co-worker. We got seated very quickly and opted for outside on the covered patio because it was such a beautiful day. I’m a sucker for a good Gyro, so I had to go with that. But first, they brought us warm pita and hummus. Yum! That was delicious. My Gyro came with a side Greek salad and lemon potatoes. The potatoes looked like potato salad, so I was expecting them to be warm. Just as I was thinking this and took a bite, my co-worker asked if they were warm or hot today. Odd question. Why wouldn’t they be consistent? Anyway, they were cold. They were just strange because when they’re mashed like that, they just seem like they should be warm. She said they are better warm, and I believe her. The Greek salad was also just OK. The dressing had too much lemon in it for me. It had very fresh veggies, nice pieces of cucumber and tomato. But just too lemony. Onto the Gyro. It was good but not great. I think the meat was a little overdone. But the tzatziki was quite tasty. I love tzatziki. My friend, however, ordered the veggie wrap, which, apparently normally comes with tzatziki. This time it did not. When she asked for some, telling them it didn’t have any, the waiter wanted to charge $ 2. She said never mind. He ended up bringing her some(for free), which was very nice. Our experience was just OK. I’ll probably give them another shot.
