Staff seems helpful and engaged. I use this location for quick electronics purchases and professional hobbyist supplies. Thankfully Shack no longer requires a customer’s address for batteries though the Point of Sale system apparently slows to the speed of a TRS-80 having dialup connection.

Don’t shop here. Both the salesmen out right lied to us. We had an opportunity to buy phones at huge discount on Black Friday. We went to this store and were told that if we brought in phones we would each lose $ 25 promotional Discount on our account Also tried to sell us full coverage insurance for loss and damage but neglected to tell us about the $ 200 deductible Such Mumbo jumbo and just plain deceitful

First admission: I have gone to Radio Shack 2x in the last 10 years. After their recent bankruptcy and an agreement initiated by SPRINT to operate the stores which have not been closed, they are now branded as RadioShack/Sprint, with cool SPRINT flags flying outside the stores. I’m not sure how that will pan out for increasing traffic flow to RadioShack, or for marketing SPRINT, for my assessment is that RadioShack has lost its vibe a long time ago, been replaced by on-line sales of the same products, and availability of many of their items in big box retailers. And SPRINT seems to continue to struggle to maintain its subscriber base and increase it, even though they have these cool commercials that they will cut your cell phone bills in half(ya know, the commercials where they show a oversized phone bill and someone with a giant scissors cutting it in half). I think its call a PRICEWAR. I went to RadioShack on a mission: to purchase Marsha a FOREIGNTRAVELADAPTER. She should have one for our upcoming foreign travel, and when I asked her if she had one, she responded«Oh, I used to, but don’t know where it is, maybe it/s in the NY apartment, I will have to search for it here, oh my, do I need to bring my hairdryer?» I didn’t give much thought to that seemingly tangential question, because I understood why the adapter query triggered her mind to ask about the hairdryer. So I replied, «I imagine the 5* hotels we will stay in will have hairdryers, as will our statements on the cruise line», but also commented, «I wouldn’t want to use a hairdryer that other people have used, even if it is in a 5* hotel, so why don’t you bring your own?» Then she went on and on about packing lightly, so I dropped the hairdryer issue. And decided just get her the damn adapters. When we entered RADIOSHACK, it was empty, and there were two sales«associates» standing around, looking lonely. One guy ignored us, while the other one said«hi», so I figured I would approach the«hi» guy. The store was well stocked and clean. Explaining what we wanted, he showed us a much too large assortment of adapters, and then we got confused about the need for a currency converter, even though he explained why we may need it. If Allen S were there, he could have handled this with ease, no doubt in my mind. He’s such a dude. Our sales associate was KING. He appeared enthusiastic, answered all of my inane questions, even though I wasn’t certain what I was really asking [I was hyper-caffeinated, again]. I asked if he heard of Unilocal, he replied«no», and I explained it to him, and showed him that this location was already listed. I asked if I could take his picture and post it, commenting on how RESPONSIVEANDPROFESSIONAL he was. He smiled, I took the picture, and left pleased that I got Marsha her adapters. And of course, I texted her a picture of the adapters, because she had texted me 4x to ask if I got the adapters yet. Oy. She knows me well enough that if I say I will do something, I do it, but she needs to know it was done. WOULD I GOBACK? Yeah, if I needed some of the stuff they sell and didn’t really know what I needed or why, I think they have sales associates who can explain it to you, even if they look lonely and bored. KING was cool, and should be recognized for that. Or if I wanted to see some of the phones or tablets they are marketing from the SPRINT side of the operation, I would go there to be educated, but frankly, I am an APPLE addict. As a further aside, I hope Masayoshi Son, President of Softbank, which owns SPRINT, knows what he is doing with re-inventing SPRINT, cause my SPRINT stock holdings are in the red, Maybe he can negotiate a buyout or merger with another mobile provider, so I can potentially make a lot of money. His attempt to merge with T-MOBILE failed. I’m still holding the stock. I don’t like to see at a loss. Let’s see how this pans out.

Through the years I have been in so many Radio Shacks. Like everything else, some are good and some not so good. This location is near my office so it’s very convenient for me to run in real quick when I need something. The associates in this store are very helpful & knowledgeable about the products they sell. It’s really nice to be greeted when walking into the store and someone will always say hello to me. I like that! I am extremely technically challenged. I am still learning how to use my phone & changing the toner in my copier is an ordeal for me. So when I decided to get a wireless Bluetooth speaker a few months ago, I had a ton of questions. I wanted a speaker so I can listen to my music through my tablet. A friend of mine had a portable Bluetooth speaker & he thought his model would be perfect for what I needed. I was just waiting for it to go on sale, since I am on a budget. Within a week or two my speaker went on sale. Radio Shack has awesome sales! During my lunch hour I went to buy the speaker. Now even though my friend explained to me how to use this speaker, my OCD kicked in and I of course had to confirm everything my friend told me with the person helping me. Regardless of my millions of questions, Brad(the store mgr) answered every single question and then some. He even showed me how to use it with my phone if I wanted to do so. I love my speaker and it is very simple to use. Today, I stopped in to replace the battery in my key fob. Brad helped me again & he even replaced the battery for me. I was in and out in just a few minutes. What sets this location apart from some of the others is that these employees actually want to help you. Every time I have been in this store the customer service has been excellent. This Radio Shack is located in the Publix Plaza, I believe it is called the 5th Ave Shoppes. It is near the South end of the plaza near Firehouse Subs.
