The people were rude! They weren’t even«not nice,» they were RUDE. We were a group of 12 and we literally walked out after the host was so disrespectful. The name says it all– it’s trying way too hard… .and it fails miserably!

Recently went to Boca location and found out that the Gatsby’s has new ownership — they have put some new energy into and are still experimenting with some of the specials. I had good service from my bartender and found that the food was excellent for bar food. I wasn’t there during any of the music performances or ladies night to see how they were — but it definitely was better than what the other reviews said. They are now open at 11:30 on Saturdays and Sundays for football games with plenty of large t.v.s

Came here on a Thursday with my coworkers for Happy Hour. It was around 5pm when we got in. Empty, maybe 2 or 3 ppl at the bar, that’s it. No music and no happy hour specials at this time still we stayed. We were a group of 11 — found some tables perfect for our group. Sever came quickly to get our drink order, everything running smoothly and we were having fun. Drinks kept coming, although the server(Amanda) did take a bit of time to come to our table for refills still very good service. They have just about everything you order. We ordered Vodka(straight and flavored), Martinis, Shots, Mixed Drinks… If they didn’t know how to make it, they asked and got it right. One of my coworkers introduced us to Irish Car Bombs(Guinness, with a shot of Bailey’s and Irish Whiskey) and these were the highlight of our night. With each round of «shots» we divided in groups and the one that finished first won. Do try it, drink is really good and fun. At around 8pm music started playing, Beers, this day, at this hour are $ 0.50, and we were told every day there’s a different special starting around that time. They have a DJ or Live Music on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Amanda kept making sure we were ok with drinks, talking with us, being friendly, just making sure we were having a good time, and we were. We stayed ’til like 9:30pm. Will definitely come again and check the atmosphere on a busier day.

Wack wack wack. This place is way too dark, the waitresses way too slutty and the alcoholic beverages suck(way too watered down). Just because you’re located in Boca doesn’t mean you can get away with everything. Snooty factor, tips the Richter scale beyond tipping point. Even before entering, there is a sign that has a few rules. One of them being«No soiled or work clothes allowed». Um, okay… right. A large private room was rented specifically for a company happy hour. There were three pool tables and a private bar with waitresses/servers walking around with Hors d’oeuvres. Sweet deal. Drink tickets were handed out and after socializing for a bit, I decided to go and get myself a something. I got carded by the female bartenders and because I unknowingly left my ID at home, I was denied. After a while, a male co-worker went and got a drink and then slipped it to me. Success! Half way through my drink and after a speech was given, I was approached by the Gatsby’s manager. She very nicely asked to see my ID(which obviously I didn’t have) so after checking my messy purse once more, I told her I didn’t have it. She then informed me that she would have to take my drink away(which had already been placed on the table while I looked for the missing ID). I told her that it wasn’t a problem and okay. After telling her okay — she then proceeded to tell me again that she would have to take the drink away. Is there really a need to tell me twice? I mean, I already said yes and it’s not like I was heart broken and crying my eyes out. Seriously, take it. I could give a shit since I was going drinking that night anyway… Oh, and never mind the fact that it was a WORKEVENT. The manager stood there, arms folded and waited for me to hand her the drink. How snooty. Yeah, no. You want it, you pick it up off the damn table. Eventually, she realized that handing her my glass was not going to happen so she went and picked it up for herself. As she was about to walk away, she decided to leave her alpha female mark by threatening me in a very condescending tone about having another drink during the happy hour private event and that serious action will be taken if I had obtained another. Granted, it wouldn’t have been bad if I really was under age and being slipped drinks but I’m over 21 and really did leave my ID elsewhere. Besides, was threatening me necessary — especially at a private corporate event? Come on lady, your job is NOT that serious. Crab cakes were delish, though.

Since they are located in the middle of nowhere, you don’t exactly«end up» at this place– you have to seek it out. Once you’re there– the staff is pretty rude. They know nothing about customer service and gave us all attitudes… they prob haven’t figured out that being nice to your customers is prob better business practice than not. Plus side… the food was decent–

Used to be a great sports bar with cigars. Then it became a great sports bar that had no smoking. Now its a flippin’ nightclub lame-o disco type thing. B O C A, blegh.

If you really want some local Boca flavour, you have to stop at Gatsby’s. This dark and heavily wood-paneled bar is a decent place to stop for happy hour or a late afternoon weekend drink. They do not open early, however(4pm weekdays, 6pm on weekends) but we went one day, after being kicked out of the house by realtors. Arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday, with no idea of the later hours, they had no problem letting us in and serving us early. Although the ice didn’t arrive until 6, so we had to make due with non-mixed drinks. The horror! I think the mural on the wall really tells the story: trendy, well-dressed and even weller-tanned Boca-ites come to this place to get their drink on and do some people watching. There is also food, but aside from appetizers, I haven’t really tried it. Thursday is some sort of ladies night with vodka specials.

I couldn’t sit back and watch Gatsby’s live it’s review life with five stars… It’s a trendy pool hall with a neat set up, but it’s over priced and it’s almost always filled with that young«Boca!» crowd… You know, the the that live well beyond their means just to be showy. I can only handle so many fake tans in a single confined space.
