Efes Bistro and Grill House is a Turkish restaurant located in Boca off of Glades Road. They offer authentic Turkish cuisine with the owners being from Istanbul, it is a good way to try the real deal. My favorite is their Adana kabob platter or chicken kabob platter. Adana kabob is minced beef with various spices but not very spicy since it is Turkish food, they focus on maintaining the natural taste of the meat. Their dinner portions are double the lunch portions. For example in the kabob entrees: at lunch you get one skewer of kabob instead of two at dinner. Their complimentary bread is always hot and fresh. With entrees you can pick bulgur rice or fries. Very few restaurants offer bulgur rice, so it’s a treat to eat it here. Bulgur rice are always cooked to perfection with a tomato base within them. The yogurt served with the platter is delicious as well. They put a side of fresh salad with every platter, which is a decent size as well. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone who likes Turkish cuisine or wants to try it for the first time.~

It is very difficult to find a good Turkish restaurant in south Florida. We have tons of Lebanese and middle eastern places but not many Turkish ones. Since our visit to Istanbul last year I have been craving for Adana kebab and somehow have ended up at Efes by mistake twice in the last month. Once we were heading to cheesecake but the boca town center was mobbed and we decided to go to Efes and today we were gonna head to city fish and at the last moment Rabia said why not Efes. Efes has been around for a while and even though it is hidden in the plaza behind most shops it is a gem of a place. The owners are from Istanbul and the food is very well cooked. The restaurant décor is also very nice and even though it is Boca and usually the service from most boca restaurants is terrible this one is a lot better because the owners run the place. Try the Adana kebab and you will come back for more and if you want to try more take a flight to Istanbul and you will have a lot of fun and enjoy the food even more!!!

Real homemade taste. They make their own breads here. The Lavash for the wraps is amazing, tender, thin and chewy. The Kofta was flavorful and juicy. I was here for lunch for the first time. I’ll be back for dinner to try the fish dishes.

Don’t waste your time with this place. The staff is rude and the food is certainly not worth the attitude and poor service. The first thing I noticed was that people of Turkish decent seemed to be favored by the staff. While we were waiting for basics like water and silverwear, their staff served the Turkish clientele that walked in after us. The manager who may have been the owner was very rude to us and was rushing us out on account of some Turkish night they were doing. If the food was great, we may have dealt with it, but the food was pretty mediocre. My fish, in particular, was extremely salty. We waited again for a long time to get our check. There’s really no reason to visit this place.

Efes is a hard to review. The food is really very good and as authentic Turkish as I’ve had in South Florida BUT they are always out of something — four out of five visits, they had no lamb shank and the grilled octopus is about 50% no show. Both are pretty amazing when they have it. At best the service is horrible — very nice people but too many tables and not enough waiters. You need to set aside two hours for a two course meal. So, if you have the time and the patience, Efes is great Turkish food.

This place was a bit of a mixed bag. The food was good, we ordered the lamb chops and they were perfectly cooked but for $ 30 a plate they better be. The lentil soup it came with was creamy but had a bit of an odd aftertaste. The salad was average. The service was where we had a little trouble, they didn’t bring our drinks out after we ordered them and had to ask the waiter again to bring them. We also got no refills until we were about to leave. The main problem was when we ordered dessert, we were actually scolded by our waitress saying that we should have let her know when we sat down what we wanted for dessert despite there being no indication that that’s how it should be done. I understand that we were there at the end of their operating hours but there were other parties there that arrived later than us so it was not like that were about to close. So go for the food if you are willing to spend the money and hopefully you will have better service than us.

We accidentally came across this restaurant while looking for another. What a pleasant surprise! I can’t speak for any of the other servers but Suha could not have been any friendlier or better at serving us. The place is charming with Turkish music playing. I know that Suha is there all day every Wednesday so ask for him!

My son ordered a sandwich with NO lettuce, tomato, or onion, and when the sandwich came out, it had all the fixings on it. The lady serving us(I am assuming she is the owner) said that my son way lying and he ordered it that way. I asked if she could remake it and she said NO. At that point, I got my purse and was about to leave when she yelled at me to «GETOUT»!!! I could not believe it. If you are in the restaurant business, you should have some customer service skills! Needless to say, I will never return. She had no personality and was a grump from the start. DONOTEATHERE. The food might be good, but they do not deserve your patronage. Beyond rude!

I have reviewed this restaurant in the past and given a glowing assessment. Last night we took my mother in law and a friend out for Valentines Day. When we arrived, the owner, Sakine, greeted us and escorted us to a booth. We informed her there would be 4 of us. There were only 2 set ups on the table. When everyone was present we wanted a bottle of her Reisling Wine. She only had 2 glasses available. We asked about several other wines and finally settled on a White Zinfandel. Our order was placed. Still only 2 setups on the table. We asked several times for the setups which we got, without napkins, after practically yelling at the waitress. The lentil soup and fresh warm bread were delicious. Our order arrived. Lamb shish kabob(ordered medium well) was rare. Beef kabob, the same issue. My beef kabob was tough, full of stringy tendon. Inedible. I told the waitress who did NOTHING about it. No replacement offered. Nothing off this pricey meal. I am so disappointed. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. We will not be back. Additionally, the booth we sat in was torn and the place is starting to look unkempt.

The food here is good, not always consistent, but still good. The service however is LOUSY! I’ve given them multiple chances, but it just keeps getting worse. You feel almost afraid to ask for something. They need help there, someone other then the owner should be handling the service. Clearly she is NOT good at it. And they should not serve bread from previous day, that is NEVER good.

Amazing soups! Adana Kabob on point. Recommend getting Bulgar over rice — it’s a real treat. Service is lively and personable — atmosphere is relaxing — great place for lunch and after a long day at work — take a seat and the stress of the melts right off!

Used the GrubHub app and that part went very smoothly. Food was ready when the app said it would be. Ordered the Adana wrap with fries and some zucchini pancakes. Both very very tasty. Will definitely go there again, I’d like to try some of the other things on their menu.

I’ve wanted to try this restaurant since I first saw it hidden beside TJ Maxx. We went for lunch and had both the Gyro and Grilled Lamb wraps. They were delicious. They were well seasoned, and the accompanying vegetables(lettuce, onion, etc.) were well prepared and the lamb was scrumptious. As other reviewers have commented, Efe’s is a bit more expensive than eating at a sub shop, but standalone, non-franchised restaurants are a rarity in S. Florida, and I realize they need to survive if we’re to see more of them. We will definitely come back for dinner based on our lunch experience. We had a chance to speak to the owner who showed us the selection of fish for the dinner menu, and both my wife are anxious to try it. And for the record, we went to see the new movie A Five Star Life last night, and were very surprised to see a fleeting glance of a restaurant in Ankara that shares the exact same name as this one.
