I wish I could give zero stars to their customer service. DONOT bother accepting a referral to this Dr.‘Mitchell’s office unless you appreciate sitting in the waiting room for one hour before seeing the dr. Today, I had an 11:15 appointment to see Dr. Mitchell for a follow up appt regarding a root canal he did months ago. The root canal became infected and I needed to go back to see him. 30min prior to my appointment, I called his office and spoke with Barbara. I wanted to know if he was running on schedule as I was leaving work for this appointment and didn’t want to sit in the waiting room for over an hour again(as was the case with my last two appointments where I sat in the waiting room for over an hour before seeing the dr., not to mention the 20−30min they have you sit in the chair in the patients room). Barbara said at 10:35,“call me in 15min and I’ll be able to tell you if he’s running late”. I called exactly 15min later, no answer. Called again, no answer. Being that I didn’t want to be late myself, I started to head over and arrived at 11:14. No one acknowledged me in the waiting room till 11:25,at which point I could overhear the dr. speaking with his assistants about decorating decisions for their new office which they are moving to shortly. Still, I was patient, I like Dr. Mitchell. I waited, waited, waited, then waited some more. Finally at 11:50,I asked the same assistant Barbara if it was going to be much longer. She said,“I’m sorry, yes, I think it will be another 15−20min”. I asked her how this is possible when I just called you and I have been sitting here for over ½ an hr. She told me,“I’m sorry, but he’s working on a complicated tooth right now so it’s taking longer”. That is nothing short of a LIE. I heard the entire staff talking about which paint color to match the chairs and which stone to pick for their front desk. I called her out by telling her she is lying to me b/c I heard the doctor and all your conversations. She was quite embarrassed as she knew she was caught in a lie. I waited about another 5min, I lost my patience as I would rather be at work than wait for a doctor who’s office has no respect for a patient’s schedule. Again, I have no issue with Dr. Mitchell, but since there are a ton of comparable doctors in the neighborhood, why would anyone want to deal with this nonsense? If there was actually a complicated patient/tooth situation going on, I’d be ok with waiting. But when she lied to me about why he was late, that was the final straw. In summary, Dr. Mitchell is an ok doctor, nice guy, TERRIBLEOFFICESERVICE! I am going to see Dr. Shapiro who is very close as well. In fact, even though I’m an new patient, they told me I could come in same day b/c I am in pain and they won’t make me wait. Sorry, Dr. Mitchell, but you can’t just jam appointments in your schedule in the hopes that you could see more than you could handle. There should be a name for dr.‘s offices that do this. See someone else.
