Our basement began filling with water. The tech arrived promptly, and was able to determine that the 80+ yr old cast iron sewer line had collapsed. His crew arrived, excavated, and replaced the old line with brand new pvc piping. The techs were very courteous and did a fantastic job cleaning up after themselves.

Will take you for everything you have and then some! When my husband and I first bought or house there were quite a few drain issues. First of those issues was the cast iron pipes that had ‘solidified’? Basically, they closed in on themselves. So the guy removed some of them. OK, no real problem other than the bill was a bit pricey(over $ 2000 to remove 1 line). He claimed the problem was solved. No such luck. We call him back. He comes out with another guy and a drain snake. The sewer line is cracked where the old owners didn’t replace the old Terra cotta pipe. They tell me they’re going to have to excavate and that my sewer line goes out into the middle of the woods behind my house, even though there are man holes along the street in front of my house. I asked why it would just run straight back into the woods and asked if they were sure. ‘Ooh yeah, straight back into the woods. No idea why they’d do something like that. You’re sure you have city sewage and not a septic tank?’(Nah, i just like to give the city my money, it’s fun!) I let the guy write up a quote, over $ 10,000 for them to excavate and fix my sewer line. I got a second and third opinion after that! For the record, my sewer line wraps around my house and goes back out to the street! Not off into the woods and I got my line fixed for $ 2500!
