Dennys is a hit or miss place depending on cook and waitstaff. The inside could use some sprucing up, The bathroom is grungy. They have different flavored specials ie might have a month of blueberry specials, then next month might be strawberry. Only problem is you might like a flavor that will disappear in a week. Their country fried steak is good and consistent. Dinners with meat and veggie usually ok. Most egg breakfast good.

I came here on my one month anniversary with my girlfriend after she got a concussion. We got mozzarella sticks and a slice of French toast. It was ok.

We stopped here after the Alice Cooper/Rob Zombie concert in Youngstown. No, I did not wear my luchador mask while I ate. My girlfriend dined in her own get up though, and got one compliment and loads of stares from the mildly annoying teens infesting the place. First of all hails to Natalie, our excellent server! She brought me refill upon refill without charging extra and without complaint. I was dying of thirst! Which brings me to their new«Fusion» beverages. Tired of Pepsi and other soft drinks? Go Fusion. Natalie let me try a couple; OJ Strawberry Mango and Cherry Cherry Limeade both of which were quenchers of the highest order. They cost a little more than the standard drinks but are worth the upcharge. I could have sucked down 20 glasses of the phosphate-like Cherry Cherry Limeade. We weren’t all that hungry, so I just got a Grand Slamwich. Talk about slammin’ anything McDonalds offers for breakfast into trash can. «Two scrambled eggs, sausage, crispy bacon, shaved ham, mayonnaise and American cheese on potato bread grilled with a maple spice spread. Served with crispy hash browns.» Sound halfway good? It was. More than halfway actually. I subbed a fruit parfait of grapes, strawberries, and bananas for the hash browns though. A fella needs to stay regular. This was the first time I had been to a Denny’s in a decade. To think I’d be reviewing one in Ohio. lol.

As we mentioned that morning over breakfast, I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience at a Denny’s. The Moon over Miami was fantastic here. As was Grand Slammich… damn. Hey, what can I say? Sometimes everyone needs a little bit of Denny’s in their life. Sure beats foie gras. The service here was great — super-friendly server. Emphasis on the super. But it was kind of nice. We both guessed that the joint hadn’t been renovated since 1993. That’s a fun game to play, BTW, when going in to a new place — guess what year they redid the decorations. But I don’t go to Denny’s for the decorating advice — I go for the food. Yum.
