Waffle House 944

A great place to go for food poisoning! Went here for lunch today while visiting Blue Ridge. After placing our order, I watched (from the counter) as one cook took raw bacon out of the cooler and placed it on plates in front of the grill. He then grabbed the spatula and flipped some cooking bacon (same hand), and when he took the raw bacon off of the plates to put it on the grill, he replaced it with cooked bacon (same plates, ewwww)!
I watched the other cook handle raw meat in the same way and then make waffles, oh, he did wipe his hands on a dirty dishtowel first.
My coffee cup had enough lipstick on it for two women (seriously, bright red!)
When I told them I couldn’t eat thier food, one of the cooks wanted to know why. When I told him him what I had seen, he tried to lecture me on safe food handling practices and health codes. Pretty cocky for a cook (?) in a Waffle House with a 72 health rating! What an idiot.
Eat here at your own risk. I’ve seen cleaner hog troughs.

Food came out suspiciously fast. It was like they knew we were coming. They were busy busy busy too. Everything was perfect, hot and delicious. Guess that’s probably why they were hopping.

Waffle House is such a bad place to go! They waste your money while you could make your own waffles at home! They have such bad service and they don’t clean the stove after! They leave it how it is! I don’t like that place… but I hate it! I recommend you don’t go and save your money!

People always make the difference and that’s especially correct when it comes to Waffle House. Their employees have to be friendly and attentive in an environment that might not always be conducive to that.
I had to laugh because our waitress seemed to be more interested in our gossip and where my boyfriend went to high school than our order. That’s fine because apparently she can chit chat and sling hashbrowns at the same time because our food came quickly and just as requested.
The sweet tea is fresh, which is generally my barometer for any restaurant in the Southeast.
No complaints and this location is a perfect example of their corporate slogan. «Good good fast, at the Waffle House!» Well, I think that’s what the jingle said. LOL

If you are up in the mountains near Blue Ridge, you might want to check out this Waffle House.
As Waffle House’s go, it’s pretty good. Good service, good food. The real gem here however, is the atmosphere. Good old fashioned mountain folks with new fangled problems that lead to some good eavesdropping. «So and so stole my cellphone when I was drunk!» or «I don’t care if that baby is half Mexican, I still love it.» and the classic «That sonabitch don’t know what the hell he’s even doing most of the time. Got all that meth in em.»
There’s also some nice normal folks, but both times I’ve been there, it’s been a hoot!
