This place was great. We have come to blue ridge a couple times and this was the best place we have been to yet. Food was great and the service for a table of 12 was TOP notch. Enjoy.

I think that Souther Charm is good overall. To me it is one of those places that are good to eat if you don’t want anything fancy, overpriced or different. It’s comfort food and its good and reasonably priced.

This is the place we ate after a long day of driving on our Christmastime family road trip to Blue Ridge. My stepdaughter wasn’t happy with the chicken pot pie(bland, flour-y) but the rest of us loved the three varieties of fried chicken we had(tenders, quarter, apricot). Sides were decent. The honey mustard sauce is probably the best I’ve ever had. We waited maybe a half hour for a table on a Saturday night, and our server was a little harried, but overall we had a good experience.

Seated quickly despite crowd. Pays to only need a table for two tonight. Seated inside to the right at a table in front of the fire place. Rain and cold outside so it feels good to be near the fire. Cheyenne quickly took drink and meal orders. My Wife selected the pecan crusted tilapia and I ordered the meat loaf. Order to table time was 14 minutes. While we waited Cheyenne brought us hot biscuits and apple butter. Delicious, we made them disappear. Meatloaf served as two thick slices, smashed red potatoes and okra all were delicious. My wife was very pleased with the tilapia, sweet potato and broccoli. Final thoughts — greeted with a smile, seated quickly(at 6:15pm), great biscuits and meals. Alas, we are to full for dessert. Wife got the bread pudding to go. Thanks for the great service Cheyenne. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED. Will return.

Have been twice now — once on a Sunday and once on a Saturday night. Both times the food and service were very good. If I had to choose I would go on a Sunday(11ish to 3ish) where you choose an entrée and then the sides are served family style. Then you can try alot of sides and find your favorites. I recommend the fried chicken and meatloaf entrees. Also, on Saturday nights they have 1lb of crab legs plus two sides for $ 17 or all you can eat crab legs for $ 27. When we were leaving, we noticed very limited screened in outside seating so if the weather permits, consider asking to sit there!

I have eaten at Southern Charm several times before, but tonight had probably one of the worse meals I have ever gotten in a restaurant. I ordered the chicken pot pie that used to be excellent. What I got served today tasted like a can of veg-all mixed with milk and poured over a biscuit. There were only minuscule pieces of chicken– not even enough to even make a tablespoon full. The vegetables were canned and nothing was done to even try and cover up the canned taste. The side of green beans were also canned and flavorless. I have eaten better food in a hospital cafeteria! After my experience tonight(and with the higher prices) I doubt I will ever be back. If I want southern cooking I will go to Pat’s in McCaysville or just cook at home!

Batter on the fried green tomatoes was perfectly seasoned with right amount of spices. Décor inside of restaurant could have used some help.

This restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. We had originally decided to go to another restaurant but found out it was closed. We had passed by Southern Charm and knew it was open so decided to try it. The atmosphere was very charming, the service was great. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. The food was amazing. The trout, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, and the bread pudding were extremely good. Southern comfort food at its best! The chicken pot pie was not that great, which was the only dish we were not very happy with. The only bad thing was that the food took a long time to come out, but we didn’t mind it much since they brought us one of the most amazing biscuits and apple butter I have ever had. Oh, make sure you try the sweet tea, it was authentically delicious!

We ordered the fried green tomatoes and fried pickles for appetizers and they were amazing. I had the fried chicken and my girlfriend had the apricot chicken. Everything was great and everyone was full. We unfortunately didn’t have room for desert. Lol. The service was great and we had 3 small children and they were great with them. I highly recommend this establishment.

Sweet tea is amazing here! Food was awesome. The atmosphere is illuminating. My waitress was very sufficient and sweet. But, the reason I gave this place 4 stars is because of the flies coming and going through the doors and they buzz around your head.

When you go to a Southern restaurant you expect two things to be good: Fried chicken and sweet tea. But hey, maybe that’s just me! However, I do believe that they delivered. I ordered the sweet tea and man… it was good. Along with that I got jumbo chicken tenders with a side of fries. The chicken tenders are pretty big so I split it with my best friend Sterling. Anyways, the place is pretty good itself. The waiters and waitresses seemed very nice and made sure the drinks were always full. The only thing wrong with the restaurant was the fact that there were some flies. Look, no one wants flies running around their face with their dirty paws all up on them. Mysteriously enough, as soon as we got our food they went away. So besides that it was pretty chill. Everyone seemed happy with what they got. To top it off the bathroom was clean. I mean, that’s what everyone hopes for, right? Sadly, there was only one toilet. So if someone’s in there, you gotta wait. Hope you don’t have an accident. ;) Overall, great place to go, especially with family. Everyone is friendly and willing to grant your every wish. The place was very clean and nicely decorated. The only problem was the flies but I suspect that they came in when the door was opened. The food was on point as well as their service. You’ll leave with a full stomach and a temporary country accent.

We just arrived in the area and our group of 6 were looking for a place to grab some lunch. TIP: When traveling, ask the locals where they eat. So we asked for a recommendation. I am so glad we did! The restaurant was defiantly southern charm. Very nice and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive. When I go to a country restaurant, I always judge them first by their sweet tea(now a days half sweet, half un-sweet for me). Come on, you can’t be a good country restaurant and not have sweet tea. It was delicious! Perfect! Everyone at the table ordered a different dish and everyone remarked at how good their food was. I had the meatloaf with hash brown casserole and fried okra. Delish! My guy had the apricot chicken and I had a bite. I almost regretted not ordering it! We would defiantly return!

Southern Charm is a newer restaurant to BR, so I was excited to try some good olé’ southern cooking. I got the country bowl which is fried chicken, corn, and cheese. The dish was alright — it sounded much better than it tasted. And where it was fatally flawed was that the fried chicken was dry. That’s an unforgivable sin in the southern bible of cooking. Reading some other reviews, it seems this might be an anomaly, as many mentioned the fried chicken being juicy and very good. The dish felt very monotone — good items that weren’t paired well. I think the bowl being 100% starch and meat was probably where it had it’s downfall, as this left for not a lot of variety. I do wish they had some healthy menu options as well. You can get a vegetable plate, sure, but most of the sides are fried or starches. The service and appearance of the restaurant are good. It really has, no pun intended, southern charm. Overall, it’s alright, and I give it props for being one of the few true southern restaurants in the area. If they work on consistency, providing some healthy options, and flavor, they’d be golden.

This is my third time eating at Southern Charm. Every time has been a pleasant experience. Our waitress today was Tara and I can’t say enough about her great service. She smiled every time she came to the table and my glass never had time to empty. It was a busy day at the restaurant but the service and food was still quick and good. My onion rings were not ready when my sandwich was so Tara brought French fries while I waited for them. When she brought out the onion rings she informed me there would not be an up charge due to my having to wait. I have lived in the area for 15+ years and I can say that it is always a pleasant surprise to get good, fast service. It can be hit and miss around here. I highly recommend this restaurant not only for the service but also for the great food.

I had the Buffalo Chicken salad for lunch for $ 10.99. It was delicious. Very filing and the blue cheese dressing was good. The tea is fresh brewed and the biscuits and apple butter they served for free was very good. Our server Tara was fast, efficient and very friendly. We had a wonderful experience and will come back next time I’m in town.

During our recent stay in Blue Ridge my husband and I were looking for some authentic southern cooking. Being new to the area I went on my handy dandy Unilocal up and began doing my research. Up came Southern Charm in downtown Blue Ridge and it scored very high stars and my husband and I decided to stop in. The restaurant is in old converted Victorian home which is lovely on the outside. Inside it is spacious with at least 2 large dinning rooms. The décor was a bit lacking and it felt too open and bare, almost cold. Though we were seated quickly the initial contact with the hostess felt cold not very welcoming, but they did warm up later on. The menu is plentiful and boasts items as fried green tomatoes. My husband and I subsequently settled for the friend chicken for him and the chicken pot pie for myself. The food came out relatively fast. My husbands chicken was nicely browned and plentiful. Very eye pleasing, so I was very much looking forward for my plate. When it was placed in front of, all my hopes and expectations were partially deflated. I was hoping to see a chicken pot pie but instead I got a bowl of pot pie filling with two biscuits on top. The«chicken pot pie» was decent a bit on the salty side but also a tad bland in the other flavors. The aesthetic appeal was just not there for me and I would have much preferred an actual pie, I mean part of the goodness is the flaky crust; at least it is for me. I give the pie 3 stars. My husbands chicken was a complete different experience, it was crispy and oh so juicy. I have never had friend chicken this juice anywhere else. I have a love have relationship with friend chicken. I only eat white meat(chicken breast) and it’s hard to get a nice juicy piece that is crispy and not drowning in oil. Usually if it’s crispy on the outside it dry on the inside. But Southern Charm’s chicken was delicious… I give this dish 5 stars. However, as stated for the overall experience, feel, appeal, décor and service I give this place a 3. My husband and I I’m sure will be back again and hopefully I can give it a higher star rating at a later point. In the mean time if you’re in the area and happen to stop in, I recommend the friend chicken, forego the pot pie :(

Loved the friendly service and down home charm first of all. I read an article from a woman who was trying to find the best fried chicken in North Georgia. It’s golden brown and crispy! Nice and juicy too! The okra taste fresh and my greens are good here. Lots of good southern traditional plates on the menu at very reasonable prices. Definitely a must try! All the waitresses were so sweet and genuinely wanting to make you happy.
