First time to Blue Ridge. I have to say I was very disappointed with the food. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich, and it was not good. I make better ones at home. My family had biscuits and gravy, French toast and pancakes. My daughter ordered chocolate chip pancakes. The waitress asked if she wanted chips on top or inside. She said inside. The waitress came out with the order and said sorry, they put them on top. And that was that. There was no sausage in the gravy. None at all. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

First the pros: 1. The eggs, omelettes, sourdough bread and fruit were very good. 2. It wasn’t terribly expensive. Now the cons: 1. The slow service: we were seated fairly quickly but we sat there for at least 15 minutes without anyone even talking to us. Meanwhile, at least two other groups came in and got their orders taken. In fact, we saw two ladies who came in after us, get their food, finish and leave before we even got ours. I had to get up and ask one of the servers if they had forgotten us. She was wide-eyed and seemed lost but said yes. She then got our drink orders and we eventually got the drinks. Then she took our orders. We got one order about an hour later. Then one more came out at least 5 minutes later. I asked our server if it would be 5 minutes in between each of us getting our orders because at that rate it would take 30 minutes. She looked puzzled by my question and then said no. However, my comment proved to be prophetic as it was about 25 minutes in between the first person in our group getting their order and the last two getting their’s. The last two were the only ones that came out as a group instead of solo. So we either sat their awkwardly while our breakfast mates ate their food or ate with a guilty conscience while our companions waited. On top of that, our server continually forgot stuff. We had to ask multiple times and each time she would act as if it was the first time she’d heard it. We found out as we were leaving that part of the reason for the slowness(the food part not the server’s forgetfulness or ignoring us) was because one of the cooks didn’t show up. We were there about 2 hours. It really put us in a bind for the rest of our day considering it was our last day of vacation. We ended up cutting something else out to compensate. 2. The environment: It was a decent place especially considering it was just in a strip mall. However, it was hot and when I asked if they could adjust the thermostat they said they would but warned that it was always that way. It did get cooler after that though so I am happy about that though I wish I hadn’t suffered so long and had to ask before they adjusted it. 3. The food: To be fair, as I mentioned earlier, one of the cooks was missing and somebody else filled in so I can’t say if the bad food was because of that, but it was bad. With the few exceptions I mentioned earlier it was all bad. The pancakes were dry and floury. There wasn’t enough syrup in all of Vermont to make them moist. We poured it on and they drank it up without anything to show for it. They were like black holes. The home fries had no flavor. I had to salt and pepper them to death to taste anything. The bacon was awful. It ran the gamut from burnt to slimy and underdone. I’m not one to ask for a discount or some monetary consideration at restaurants when things go wrong, even this wrong, but usually I don’t have to ask when it is this bad. They didn’t even offer. When we paid the bill, one of the employees there asked about how our server did and when we were honest about it she admitted that she probably shouldn’t be a server. Yet still no consideration or even apology. We won’t be back. Last year we went to Mercier’s Orchard restaurant on our last day and it was very good but we had to wait in line a very long time and then had to wait for our food for a very long time and didn’t want to risk repeating that. How ironic.

I am a local and I am glad they reopened. I do not know what people are talking about in some of these reviews. I found the service a little slow(but who comes to the country to live like they are in the city.) I like that they are relaxed, and if I want to read I can and they will not rush me out the door or keep the dining area so cold you will want to leave as soon as you can — like some restaurants. If you are in a rush, I suggest letting them know, and I think they will accommodate you as much as possible. All of the food I have had there is excellent and the Ham and Cheese omelet is the best I have ever had anywhere. As for the food being bland, I have not experienced that as I have been very pleased.

I don’t know what the negative reviews are all about. This café is wonderful! It’s a must for anyone visiting Blue Ridge. Locals love this place too. Don’t miss it!

It is neither bad nor good. Food was ok… coffee was ok… service was ok. Table of 5 in our party… everyone said the same thing about their choices. Might try it again sometime later.

I got the special which was chopped steak and three sides. Not my favorite rendition of chopped steak. steak was a little undercooked and served with onions. Waitress did not ask how I wanted it cooked or mention the onions. Sides were much better. Sweet potato fries were the hit of the meal. Green beans were good. Mashed potatoes had a strange tang to them maybe sour cream? Not bad just different. Wife’s chicken salad sand wick was very good. Service was fast and attentive. Prices a little high but not too awful. Looks like a better breakfast place Back again for breakfast this time, yummy biscuits and gravy. Good bacon too. Service a little slower but liked food better. Added a star Tried Sunday breakfast … They warned us it would be awhile since they had a big order… is was. While the food is still pretty good the biscuits and gravy were almost cold in the bacon a little overdone. They are definitely understaffed Taking back that star

Food is just ok at best. I even ordered their specialty, the French toast, and it was burned and uncooked all at the same time. The staff was nice and ambiance of the place is super cute. Maybe it was an off day…

Average food but very nice people. The service was very slow due to being understaffed. We had to eat most of our food without a drink but the friendly staff made it more bearable. Hopefully, they get a little better.

Terrible service. We waited over 40 minutes for our eggs and bacon and that was after waiting 20 minutes to order. The server said, «now that I’ve got everything else out of the way, what can I get you.» He also kept calling me ‘the young lady who’s all alone’ because I was the only non coupled person there. He did end up giving us coffee for free for the wait, but it didn’t make up for the fact that the food was horrible. Not even Waffle House quality.

Good service, friendly staff, and delicious food! We would definitely come back again. However, we did order too much food.

Service was meh but the food solid. Really loved the fact it wasn’t waking distance from downtown. It was a perfect spot for brunch on a Sunday. Not too crowded and they served a lunch menu as well as breakfast. The trainer special is a great dish foras anyone but definitely if you are actually training! Served with turkey, spinach mushrooms and egg whites! Definitely worth the effort to get away from the downtown!

Loved this place! We started our vacation and decided that we would eat out before shopping for the weeks supplies. We have a tendency to stay away from chains while on vacation. Service was outstanding! I was touched that our server waited to approach us as we were praying. It’s those little things that push it over the top. Wife had the eggs Benedict and myself an omelet. Food was really good. Only reason it’s 4 instead of 5 is due to my strictness in scoring. Wife loved her eggs and my omelet was overly stuffed! The hollandaise sause was a bit thick with more of a gravy consistency. The corn beef hash was good but a little bit on the salty side. Service gets a 5 star rating as the food is 3.5. Would I return? Absolutely no doubt about it! That is the goal of business, to do well enough to bring them back!

Hands DOWN, the best breakfast I’ve had all weekend! A must, when visiting in Blue Ridge! I had the veggie omelette with home fries, outstandingly fresh!

We enjoyed our breakfast. We split an omelet that had ham cheese bell peppers and tomatoes and it was tasty. We also had the home fries which were chunks of potatoes with seasonings. The unsweetened tea had a strong tea flavor which I like. The pepper and tomatoes were large chunks and the ham was diced tiny, go figure! The staff was friendly just a little slow. We would visit again but for lunch next time.

TL;DR; Staff is friendly food is «meh», food nothing great but not horrible. Ambiance: Cute place, decorated like a Martha Stewart home. Service: Very good, attentive and friendly. Food: French Toast: Childrens order is expensive for what it is, but I guess my kids don’t care when they have syrup available. Was a bit bland in my book. Also noticed that a single pancake goes for $ 3.50 on the children’s menu. Bit of a hard pill to swallow when I get them for a dollar down in Canton at the Keithsburg Café and from what I can tell based on the plates I saw, are larger. Eggs Florentine: Bland would be an accurate description, must have forgotten to season them. No complaints on the poached eggs like other reviewers, mine were fine. I would echo the sentiments of the other reviewers on the hollandaise, thick and goopy and pretty much no flavor. Tomatoes were a bit odd on the plate too, just large chunks of raw tomato that didn’t seem to add to the dish. Had they cooked them a bit with the spinach to warm them I think I might have thought differently. Had a side of the crowder peas, needed salt or salt bacon, or just something with a bit of flavor. I make those better at home. Chicken Fried Steak: Best thing on the menu. Had a decent white gravy that they actually seasoned so it was nice to eat something that had some salt and pepper in it. Probably would order this next time and split it with someone at the table as it is a decent sized portion. Fried okra side is just your standard breaded frozen okra deep fried. Summary: Cute, bit expensive for under seasoned food. I don’t need them to dump the salt factory on it, but a little something to bring out the flavor would be nice. Need to rework the hollandaise. I could have probably added a bit of salt to my dish considering it was on the table, but for some reason it just doesn’t taste the same when it is added on the plate. Or maybe that is just how I rationalize being too lazy to reach for it. You decide.

Eggs Florentine was delicious. I got a bite of my husbands country fried steak, it was crispy and tender. The dining room atmosphere is bright and fresh. I’m glad we stopped on our way through the mountains.

Thank’s Unilocalers for this location. We arrive about noon time n where able to order breakfast. Wife order the Vegetarian Omelet(onions, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms n cheese) with a side of home made potatoes n a biscuit. I had Chicken Tenders with Sweet Potato Fries n Green Beans + a biscuit. The food was healthy n taste OK. The service was excellent n helpful with advise of their cooking. Now I have read some of the reviews n We knew that this is NOT a FASTFOODPLACE. So take is in consideration n enjoy the time knowing that the food is cooking from scratch. That is one thing I have learn when we are in the country, RELAX N TAKEITSLOWLY.

Several friends and I had just finished a great weekend in a cabin in Blue Ridge. We were preparing to head back to Metro Atlanta, but of course we were hungry. Our first stop was to a waffle house want to be on the the main strip, we walked in and wasn’t greeted and everyone looked at us like we were axe murders. One of the guys in our group struck up a conversation with a gentleman who suggested Bumblee Bee’s. Let me just say this, this couldn’t have been a better suggestion. When we opened the door we were greeted as if we were lost sons coming home to momma’s house. The wait staff and service was top notch. I live in NYC and I know good service, but this was GREAT. To make things better the food was impeccable. Every plate on the table was cleaned of food. The co-owner told my friend if he didn’t like the food he ordered he would prepare him something else.(Who says this?). Needless to say my friend devoured the pork chop. We are planning another trip to Blue Ridge and I can assure you Bumble Bees will be on the the list of places to visit for a great meal and friendly service.

We called ahead for a group of 12 on a Sunday morning, and they told us it would be an hour wait. We decided to go and they actually seated us much faster than that. The breakfast menu is large and pleasantly cheap(for example, $ 3.50 for a grilled cheese and sweet potato fries). Service was solid also, even though it was crowded. The odd thing is that the large streetside sign has no mention of Bumblebee’s. Just look for the«Café» sign in bright yellow. It is across the street from Ingles.

«Lackluster» is the way to describe the food. I second an earlier review that the poached eggs on eggs Benedict were about 30 seconds from being hard boiled-no yolk ran when I opened them. The Ham was way too thick and salty so flavors were way off, And the hollandaise was most definitely packaged — and super thick and goopy. I would not come back for the food. The potatoes were overlooked and too salty. The biscuits and gravy also seemed packaged. If it wasn’t packaged gravy, then it needs a lot of work. Either way, not good. On the positive side, the restaurant is cute and clean. But unless the food improves dramatically I don’t know how people make a second trip.
