Have been looking for a new spot for a good cocktail after work and snack. Heard about the business from a friend, figured I’d try it. NO customer service! Walked in, a staff member was close to the door but didn’t greet us or smile, maybe even sneered. Sat down at a table, as the bar was full. Waited for 20 mins before walking out because not nary a soul came to serve us. The same staff member we encounter upon entering was behind the bar. No attention. It’s hard to find good GROWN places in the S. Suburbs. This one isn’t on my list.

I was once a regular here and tipped well, mostly because it is black owned and I like to support. But it also offered something that I hadn’t received in a while… Classy. Good crowd… Nice music… great staff… active owner and good drinks. My last visit was horrible and I will never spend another dime here. This place is turning into the stereotypical hole in the wall. When myself and a friend decided to break away on a Thursday evening, I immediately suggested Ravens! When we arrived… no one was there(literally), which was perfect. The bartender(specifically the one with the short cropped platinum blonde hair) was sitting at the end of the bar eating chicken, and said we need to show I’d… which was fine… We felt flattered. But she didn’t move and continued to eat her chicken. We gathered that we needed to walk down to her… So we did… She quizzed us… we passed… then went back to our seats. We ordered… I ordered a dark rum and diet coke. She went back a forth with me about how my diet coke defeats the purpose when mixing with a dark rum(despite the fact of me telling her that I don’t care about caloric intake… It’s about taste… Anyway.soon after getting my drink .a crowd of people came in(none of which she requested an ID). who were obviously her regulars(which is probably why they weren’t carded, but shouldn’t this be about uniformity?). About 10+ people. She livened up! She started catering to them… I finished my drink. pushed the glass away from me… waiting for her to approach to offer another drink… Never happened. The bar was not crowded… At all… but she asked her regulars to the right of us… to the left of us… right behind us if they were Ok and/or needed anything… ate her chicken. .but never approached us. I literally stared a hole into her face while she ate and catered… She never once approached us… I thought we were invisible… UNTIL a few more of her favorites walked in and she told us, «y’all gotta play musical chairs. Move down!(to accommodate her regulars). I was disgusted. Really? I left and went right next door for Mexican food… And had the BEST5.00 margarita ever… they also treated me like they appreciated my business. I will NEVER spend my money here again…

I went to this spot with my friend one Saturday night. Its a nice spot that has quite a bit of space. It has a downstairs, upstairs, some back rooms that you can rent out for parties as well as a rooftop area. The drinks were really good and resonably priced. The DJ was good also. this spot is 30 and up afer a certain time so it’s nice to know there won’t be any little kids running around. I would go back.

Was just there. Had exactly one drink, and was contemplating what to have for my second, when the bartender proclaimed that he wouldn’t serve me and that he wanted me to leave. I tried to point out that I was surely the least drunk and least belligerent person there, that I have no idea what he thinks I did, but surely he has the wrong guy, and he just insisted that he had the right guy and that I had to leave, while refusing to give any explanation as to why he was doing this or what he thinks I did. I’m still curious as to whether there was some sort of false premise embedded into his peabrain when he did that, or whether he was trying to impress somebody by randomly exercising some sort of authority; either way, avoid.

I’ve been there had a good time. Had a retirement party there for a friend/co-worker. The food was tasty, not bad. Everyone had a good time. The place is kept up very well. Black owned, I’ve been there for other functions also, frat parties, etc. not to mention I deliver their mail there, I’m their mail carrier. The owner is very professional and nice. Would recommend them.

Raven’s Place should be called Crow’s Nest! I would NEVER and I mean NEVER step foot in this establishment again! I went here to meet up with friends… We had a ball!!! The drinks were good, the music was nice, the space was cool! However, the next day several of us that ran tabs also left with stolen identity! At least 4(and counting) Credit/Debit charges in excess of over $ 400 at several south suburban Walgreens, CVS and the like. Thank God for bank protection!

Helpful wait staff. Bathroom was clean. Overall establishment was clean and comfortable. Good music, although quite loud, by loud I mean concert-loud.

I went to Raven’s Place tonight and the service was terrible. The bartender was not very friendly and the drinks were small and overpriced. The music was ok but overall I likely would not return to this establishment.

Visited about two weeks ago. Hip hop/r&b/house music. One of the bartenders rudely tried to place some strange guy at my table when my friend went to the bathroom. This chick actually brought his drink to my table and told him to sit down at our table and said to him: «they ain’t buying drinks no way,» referring to my friend and I who had two drinks each with different bartender. Apparently you have to keep drinking until you can drive home in order to continue sitting down at this place. I don’t know anyone who has the time for rude customer service with the abundance a good bars in Chicagoland. The one star is for the other bartender’s good service. Until the owner has a staff meeting about customer service and hires a full staff that respects patrons, skip over this place.

My friend is a classy dresser and attended a party there on Saturday, and was informed, rudely that the flip flops that where in her purse, where not allowed! Really its not like it was CRACK or heroin they where flip flops for comfort to walk to her car. She was treated rudely and disrespectful!!! and she is telling her friends and she has a lot of them not good for business. He was security attending the door.

I’ve been several times and enjoyed myself each and every time. Of course the music is loud. Yes, they cater to househeads but switch up to tap into my love of rap or stepping music. The establishment is an intimate setting and food is good. Cocktails are reasonable. Will definitely go back.

Attended a birthday party there for a close family member and ENJOYED the time spent there with her and the rest of our family and friends. However, I would’ve like to see ‘exclusivity’ for her guests. The management should become more clear about what your contractual payment covers. DJ is great for ‘house heads’ like myself so if your a youngsta’ who doesn’t have a clue about house music — take your milk mouth taste in music somewhere else. It’s an ADULT music experience — it’s not for the immature ear who thinks the radio should actually be listened to. Nevertheless, I would’ve given it 4 stars if I wasn’t displeased with the following: I was told I would need to present ID at the door. Their signage should reflect that and they should tell their patrons to alert their guest so they won’t be waiting in the cold or desperately searching their pockets and purses in order to enter. Parking is HORRENDOUS! Not designated and I’m a bit of a prude when I put on my drag so I prefer to have the option to choose valet at establishments. But overall, I would probably ‘visit’ again. But I wouldn’t host an event there.

Music was not current. Bartender even mentioned the DJ needed to play something more current. Music was way too loud. Crowd was 35 and over. Crowd was not diverse. My friend and I stayed for an hour then left.

Was here for a birthday party on friday, there seems to be parking all around in lots but i was not quite sure if we could park in them, there was no cover charge. got there around 11 and the place was packed, the crowd was mixed in age from like 30 on up. thank God i was going to a party that was held on the second floor, there was another bar up there and plenty of seating. They played a lot of house music which starts to drive me a lil crazy after a while. all in all nice place, good drinks and good crowd but beware this place gets packed and i saw a lot of people being turned away by 12:30 because they had reachedvmax capacity
