Nice atmosphere. They have an outdoor sheeting area for when it’s nice out. They also have a Sun room that’s climate controlled. Like an outdoor patio without wind, bugs or humidity/cold. However, their food has gone downhill in the last few years, the flavour of the beans, for example, over powers the meat’s taste in several dishes.

Eaten here manytimes. Great food. The potato and chorizo enchiladas are very good. Great tacos. The service is great.

I’ve eaten here once. It’s a clean and inviting restaurant. I didn’t find the food anything to jump up and down about, but it was good none the less. Friendly service and fair pricing. It’s a great place to grab a taco while enjoying libations across the street.

Possibly the worst Mexican food I have ever had and the service was awful too. Really dissapointed.

I usually only write positive reviews, but this place did not at all hold up to the hype given by my boss. Perhaps this place is healthier than other Mexican joints, but, to me, the food tasted unfortunately bland in comparison. When I go to a Mexican restaurant I at least expect the tacos to have more flavor than the ones I’d make myself. Better tasting chips and salsa can be bought at Food4Less. Positive notes: none of the food is greasy, everything seemed fresh, the place is very clean, and looks very inviting and quaint. What ticked me off: despite the Mexican food that tasted like my gringo mom’s recipe, more than half my time in the restaurant was waiting for my bill, and to pay it… and the place was essentially empty. Verdict: Mexican Lite, with a suburban soccer mom quality

The food was pretty good, but it was disappointing that they didn’t have steak tacos. The only choices we had for meat was chicken or ground beef. The guacamole was fresh and good. Not overdone with tomatoes either. The drinks are too weak for my taste. It was not nasty but I didn’t taste any tequila. My friend and I were the only ones in the restaurant pretty late and they were nice about not rushing us so they could close. I thought that was really nice.

Carne asada and chili rellenos were great. Not crazy about the margaritas which were frozen and way too sweet and were made with substandard tequila(Sauza). Cuervo Gold or Patron should be an option given the headache I have this morning. Make an evening out of your visit to Olde Western Ave and hit up the Rock Island Public House across the street! I’ll be back, but I’ll have a Modelo instead with my dinner.

Stopped in during the week for lunch with a large party. We were seated immediately and the waiter was very accommodating while we waited for our entire party to arrive, and for everyone to order. The food was very good. Overall, a good place if you’re looking for Mexican Food, decent customer service, and family atmosphere.

Moments like this I realize I drink too much. Sober me would not make the mistake of stepping into this place! I know better! It won’t happen ever again!!! 1. Long wait for service… from beginning to end. 2. No steak tacos… for real 3. No hot sauce… this isn’t a joke! Save yourself and don’t come here for any reason. No matter how drunk you get at public house!

Seriously. … No hot sauce. Beef taco was good, but what Mexican joint doesn’t have hot sauce. Cater to your customers

Not bad, not great. I will check out other restaurants before returning here. The first thing I noticed was how hot the meat was in my taco. The temperature on the rest of the food was ok but could have been hotter. Everything tasted good and the portion sizes are decent for the price, about as expected. One major negative for me, there was no hot sauce or hot salsa! Really? It’s a Mexican restaurant! C’mon! We also had a pitcher of the gold margaritas which were good. I’m thinking a little pricey at $ 23 because the pitcher was loaded with ice. Not a bad experience, just ok. No rush to return.

Hmmmmm… Where do I start? Well let’s start and finish with the food! It’s horrible! I ordered the Veggie Plate… Yuck! I mean I really don’t know what I expected. I only stopped here because we were STARVING and a train was coming so we just stopped… 1 star for the salsa… That’s it. They did get the food to us quickly but I almost prefer them take their time if it was more tasty. I’m disappointed :(

I will ONLY order Mexican food from this place. Never had a bad experience or an order messed up in the ten years I’ve been coming here. Their guacamole is delicious and fresh, with minimal tomatoes(I’m pretty picky), and their chicken enchiladas suiza and rice are the best I’ve ever had. They have a cute little patio in the back for seating when the weather is nice too. Really though. Love them!

The food is exceptional if you don’t like Mexican food but you like ground beef, cheese and want to wait a long time in an empty restaurant. Sorry, but I’ve lived in this amazing town for 8 years and this is not one of the great options.(Guissepe’s, Maple Tree Inn, Pablo’s, Esparzas, etc). However, if your Irish friend from Beverly(and Im Irish) may have told you it’s the ‘greatest’… Well, they’re wrong. There are a plethora of amazing places to eat authentic Mexican and this is not one. However, if you have bland taste buds, and want to wait through the dismal service, then this is the place for you! I tend to order their salsa to go(great salsa) and then I put it on good food :) I’ve been here about 15 times with groups and I’ve waited all 15 for terrible service and great salsa. You dump it over your bland food and you’re good to go(after you wait 30 minutes to grab a waiter for water). Literally grab!

«It’s a me, Mario! « No. It’s really not. :/ I’m pretty easy going when it comes to tacos; as long as you keep them gristle free and affordable, you’re usually golden in my book. Sure, I sucked down a few sickeningly sweet yet generously poured Margaritas on the cheap, but their beef tacos were nothing shy of revolting. I actually spit the wad of half-chewed, ill-seasoned ground beef out into my napkin…’cause I’m ladylike and junk and stuff. Stale, cold chips with soupy salsa on par with Pepe’s. The rice was decent, but the beans were too thin for my liking. My chicken taco, while all white meat, wasn’t smothered in any sort of seasoned goodness and my tomatoes were not ripe. I know my garden goodies, so don’t even play. I’ve never seen such an utterly uninspiring menu at a restaurant! With regard to their bar service, you can’t upgrade your tequila and they don’t stock the most basic of bar staples. Couldn’t even snag myself a sidecar. It was cool that their quesadilla was crisp without being oily and they certainly didn’t cut corners on the cheese, but even an adorable patio with cheap drinks and nice servers aren’t enough to ever bring me back here. MAYBE if I were schnockered from partaking in a few too many craft brews at some of Blue Island’s fantastic nearby pubs, I’d walk over and hit up some quesadillas while sobering up…*maybe*. Not the most dazzling of endorsements, but it’s something! P. S. I didn’t bring my leftovers home for my dogs… because I really like them. GAMEOVER

I love this place! We have never had bad service or bad food here ever. Out of all the mexican restaurants I’ve tried in the Chicagoland area, this place is the best. The cheese enchiladas are great! The service is very attentive and the atmosphere is perfect. Once again, I have to emphasize, I’m not sure why people expect a 5 star restaurant fine dining experience when they are only paying roughly $ 8 a person to dine. This restaurant has excellent, tasty food at low prices. I would recommend it to anyone.
