Korbake’s Liquors is a fourth generation, family run business in Blue Island. They’re known for great prices, and on that front, they’ll never disappoint. May be worth a trip to BI for the fantastic neon sign they preserved from their old building. If you’re a tequila drinker, I’ve never seen a better selection of unusual brands.
I’m a beer drinker, and have been happy to see them expanding their selection. You can get 3 Floyds, Bells, Stone, Great Lakes, Magic Hat and other favs there for a great deal. They’re now carrying 22oz bombers from Rogue and others (hidden near the ATM). And since they’re under the beer nerd radar, when they do get something rare, it tends to stay in stock for a while and again, at a great price (Goose Island Rare was only $ 40; Infinium was only $ 15; etc).
The only knock is the quantity of craft beer remains small compared with the macro stuff, so they’ll run out quickly. In other words, if you see Gumballhead in the cooler, buy it now. But, if they don’t have your fav, it might force you to try something else… I just grabbed a 6er of Founders Centennial IPA because they didn’t have what I wanted, and found a new favorite beer. So it all works out in the end. And since the stock turns over fast, you’ll know you’re getting fresh beer.
I don’t know why the name says food… they don’t have anything but chips and nuts. It is a LIQUOR STORE, pure and simple, with all that that entails. And they DO NOT take credit cards, but there is an ATM machine in there. I’d still go with cash, cos it’s not always working.

Great prices, fabulous selection of wine for size of store. Only thing is to make sure you have cash, b/​c they don’t take anything but it!
