Probably the dirtiest and grossest pilot I’ve ever been to. The price posted on the shelves are never correct. You always pay more. Skip it and go to the TA next door. At least the bathrooms there are clean

This(i believe) was the 1st truck stop along Route 78 at the 173/bloomsbury exit. Pilot corporate has put a new face on it but the staff shows little interest in keeping the public areas looking fresh, instead it just looks tired. With a little effort this place would get 5 stars. The fuel prices match others in area(citgo & exxon). Good for a quick packaged snack. Rest rooms, showers, laundry and of course a travel store. It is staffed by nice people but a bit more housekeeping it would be a great spot

So, I get my gas here in Bloomsbury [or a little east at the Pilot in Clinton] two or three times a week … for 7 of the last 11 years. Over the past year, this spot has become my favorite — though, it isn’t perfect. Yes, as others have noted, I could do without the NJ full-service requirement. That said, gas here is typically cheaper — yesterday was about 35 cents below the Wawa’s near my house in PA. Yes, I understand, it is a gas tax thing — but, while PA has a higher tax rate, a higher share of $ 0 is still zero; meanwhile, NJ is picking up a steady stream of tax revenue from me. Anywho, good prices on gas. Convenience store staff are helpful, and the lines inside move quickly. My experience with the gas attendants is that they’re efficient. Bathrooms are as clean as any of the bathrooms at the competing truck stops. It is what it is. Challenges. Access can be tricky, with trickiness exacerbated by impatient customers ignoring the arrows to chase open pumps. Yes, one line gets shorter by one car, and one customer gets through faster, but then the commandeered fuel line gets out of whack for everyone else following the arrows. Parking and parking lot can be tricky. There are about 10 spots to park, and I usually only find 1 or 2 open at any given time. Tight lot makes navigation tricky, too. Trucks. This is a truck stop. The big rigs get backed up, and can block the road. Annoying. I’ve only had to wait more than a few seconds, a couple of times in my experience. The neighbors. TA. Prices for convenience items are higher, and cash registers are far slower — maybe two cashiers, where Pilot has 3 to 5, at most times. Citgo. Requires at least one left turn for me, and the road is busy. Also, I’m not a fan of PdVSA — Citgo’s parent-co. I’ll take a pass.

First off, I want to apologize the the good people of NJ for being thought of as idiots. I know in my heart the good people of this state are smart enough and safe enough to pump their own fuel. Time for that 65 year old law to go bye bye. Sucks waiting on some guy to make his way to you only to tell you to go inside and pay with cash because he can’t do it at the pump. Then come back out and wait for him to pump the fuel then go back inside for a receipt. Only two states look at their citizens as morons when it comes to putting gas in a vehicle. What to they think these folks do when they cross a state line? Just sit in their car at the pump? Come on NJ. We’ve even put a man on the moon. AND the place is a filthy dump. AND the Neanderthal behind the counter is as slow as mole asses. All this turns a 5 minute fuel stop into a 20 minute rat killing. I hate fueling in NJ and OR worse than IN where they charge like an extra 40 cents per dollar in taxes if you buy diesel. But hey, at least they let me pump it myself and then get the heck out of the state.

This is a great place to get gas, snacks and food, plus the gasoline lines are short. You will pay a little more for gas and fuel, especially diesel. But, nice, friendly people and clean store. For those of you who like subway sandwich brand sandwiches, pilot has a franchise in the store.

Gas station time! Let’s go to the trusty default three star Unilocal gas station review check list: Good price? Check!
I mean we’re talking currently at least twenty cents a gallon less than in PA so hell yeah the price is good and once PA’s loony new gas tax goes into effect NJ gas stations are going to look even better. Did I trip over any random tire shards, radiator parts or left behind wing nuts? No It’s Jersey so no getting out the car for gas. In theory, huzzah! Easy on/off to the highway/road of my choosing? Check They have a sign advertising their prices that you could see from the Space Station let alone driving by on 78 so you know in advance what you’re getting into price wise and the location could not be better. Human intervention needed? Yes, and here’s where it all went to hell. First there was an almost five minute wait for the attendant to grace me with his presence and then when the total came to $ 38 it took him what seemed like ten more minutes to find the two dollars change as he didn’t have any singles on him. So while the place wasn’t busy and while the price was great, defeat was snatched from the jaws of victory by the human element which in theory is already the most annoying part of getting gas in NJ and pretty much will make me visit the Exxon across 173 in the future when I’m in the area.

We always stop here on our way to PA from NY — it’s a nice midway break and the gas is always the cheapest along the way. They have a huge truck stop here so it’s really busy, but they’re reasonably fast. I prefer the TA next door, a little less crowded and a bigger quick mart, but either one is a good pit stop!

Cheapest gas around. Often fill up here on my commutes between Manhattan and the Allentown. Lots of pumps and rarely crowded – but when it is, the Exxon across the street usually has no lines and is no more than a penny more per gallon.

Mid-way point between JFK Airport and Harrisburg, Pa. Easy on-off highway access, and he gasoline prices are about 20 cents cheaper than PA. they have coffee, doughnuts, restroom, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, tapes, cds, whatever you could ask for. plus fuel is full service. Nothing really spectacular other than its easy to get on off and get gas. the only thing i dont like is that you cant pump it yourself, sometimes you have to wait.
