We made the drive down tonight Saturday July 5th from Indianapolis. It took us a little over an hour to get there and we were not sure what to expect. There is a drive in just up the road from us with several screens but they didn’t have two movies we wanted to see. Tonight they showed the new Transformers movie and then they showed Edge of Tomorrow. both newer releases, and it was only $ 8 per person which is less than what you would pay at a cinema for just one movie. They DO accept credit cards so just wanted to clear that up after reading another review saying they don’t. We paid our entrance and for our concessions both with a Mastercard. There were probably 30 cars there. not too bad. Our battery went dead within the first hour there and the very friendly staff came right out with a portable jump box and started our car and we just let it run for the rest of the movie. Not sure why that happened since my car is newer but hey. Very glad they had the tools to do this for us. They had a special for the concession stand where you could get a large pizza and a jumbo pretzel and two large soft drinks for 18 bucks. again you would have paid that for just 2 drinks and a popcorn at a regular cinema. They also carried some really good ice cream that was prepared by one of the local chains that was really good. Chocolate chocolate chip. I paid $ 4 for a pint. So not much more than what one would have costed me at the grocery store. They ask that you not bring in outside food with you as this is how they make money. And for the most part everyone seemed to be using the concession stand. There is a reason why so many of these places are going out of business and it is because riffraff come in and bring their own buffet and only pay for their admission of which most of that goes to the movie companies. They only have one screen here. And you listen via your FM radio. We got here before dark and i was concerned with all the people running all over the place playing Frisbee and football etc but as soon as the movie started everyone settled down and everything was enjoyable for us. We spent $ 51 for two of us to see two new release movies. I don’t think that is unreasonable at all. I mean we got a large pizza, a large popcorn, a pint of ice cream, a jumbo pretzel, two large PEPSI products YAY! and a large bag of M&M’s so I think we got our moneys worth. It was definitely worth the drive for us. And what a nice drive from Indy. We will be back for sure.

This is quite an eye opening experience coming from an Asian who doesn’t have this kind of things back home. I love how up to date the movies are, sometimes they have 2 movies, sometimes 3 movies and the price now is $ 8 per head. The gates are open at 7pm but the movies start after 8:30pm. Plus, CASH only for tickets and for food. So make sure you have enough before you arrived… it’s kinda in the middle of nowhere.

Hey Man. It’s a Drive-in. You can’t beat that. And this one does it as well as anyone. For $ 7 a head you get two movies, a very well stocked concession stand with hot food and icecream. Actual restrooms instead of Port-a-potties. The movies tend to be family friendly but that makes sense. Plenty of spaces, and each space is large enough to pull out some bag chairs and have a picnic. Just get here early so you get a good spot.

While the movie selection may not be as art house as some hoosiers would prefer, how can you not enjoy a vintage drive-in like this. Come here with a six pack and a bench seat.
