I’ve lived a lot of places in this town and Maxwell Terrace has been the best so far. Yes, they are older apartments but maintenance is pretty on top of it if you need to call something in. Also, management didn’t try to rip me off for my security deposit. The only thing you need to know is that if hearing people practicing instruments is going to be a deal-breaker for you, you should find somewhere else to live, since most of the residents seem to be music students. I didn’t mind, I thought it was pretty cool.

I realize that Maxwell Terrace’s main tenants are 98% music students, but I think there are students from other programs who may be interested. Pros: –The neighborhood is beautiful. –I can walk to Bryan Park in 10 minutes. –15 minutes away from campus. –Although it’s not close to the bars downtown, it’s not hard to walk there. –Close to Kroger and College Mall –I love how there is always music in the air. The pianist who lives above me is awesome! –I feel really safe here. Everyone seems to know each other. There are parties, but they’re usually pretty tame in comparison with what you might see at, say, The Villas. –There is a really cute orange cat who romps around the complex. I call her«orange buddy.» She will literally run to come see you. –Maintenance is amazing. If I have an issue, the maintenance people arrive sometimes within the hour. They’re really nice. –Reasonably priced –Buses come twice an hour. Cons: –Whoever does the plumbing here kind of sucks, because we have had two issues in the past month. The current issue is that bathtub above me is leaking onto my ceiling and dripping into my bathtub. LUCKILY, all these issues have been addressed very quickly. –I could imagine that the constant music may not be as welcome for some people, especially if someone is practicing right above your bedroom. However, the guy above me only practices in the dining area, which is fine. –Not all apartments are created equal. I love my apartment, but all of the apartments seem different. One of my friends’ apartments is seriously lacking in wall outlets, and apparently his patio door was broken for a year before they fixed it. –It’s not fancy. It doesn’t have a pool or amenities you may get at a luxury apartment.
