Janet’s Cakes & Catering

If you are looking for an affordable, delicious cake, Janet’s is the way to go. We have ordered several birthday cakes from here, and they’ve all been delicious. There’s a variety of icing and cake flavors. The icing is really rich and the cake is always moist and flavorful. The carrot cake is one of the best I’ve ever had.
Janet’s can make almost any 2D design on a cake. As far as I know, they don’t do a lot of fondant work, so if you’re looking for something super fancy, you’ll have to go somewhere else. Other than that, they’ve done every design we’ve asked for, from Zelda to Adventure Time (Homies help Homies, always).

Janet’s has been the go to bakery for my family for years!!! I have never had a complaint. The smaller cakes are just as delicious as the larger cakes. I will actually be calling to order a cake for my Mom’s birthday tomorrow when they open. :)

We ordered a variety of cupcakes and a 6″ cutting cake for our wedding. They were easy going with our sample tasting, we called in the flavors we wanted to try, picked them up and took them home. Everything tasted great and the cupcakes were the perfect size –not too big and not too little. They were accommodating with our multiple flavor requests as well and took extra care to make a cute design on our cutting cake.

Seriously the best cakes anywhere in town, even better than the fancy ones that do all the fondant work. I’d rather have a cake that tastes great any day.
The best, IMO, is the white almond frosting (swoon). They have little mini cakes every day that you can try to see what your favorite flavor is. They make the most amazingly beautiful cupcakes — again, less than the «gourmet» cupcake places charge. Cookies are delish as well. You just can’t beat Janet’s. I’ve been ordering cakes from them for years and years. They used to be on the west side of town, but a few years back moved to a place back by Dunkin Donuts off of Oakland.

I buy every cake for events at Janets! The cakes are amazing and their cream cheese frosting is to die for! Sometimes I even drop by to get the small cakes for my family. I love this place, I would never go anywhere else for cake! They made my wedding cake 2 years ago and the guest were amazed that is was as good as it looked. 5 stars for sure!!!

Everything I have ever purchased from Janets has been awesome. But recently I had purchased a larger cake for my son’s baptism. I ordered a half white half chocolate cake. I had to order a larger size than I initially wanted to get the two flavors. When I was getting ready to serve the cake to our guests I explained that I had two flavors. Once I cut into the cake, I was dissapointed to see I didn’t get the flavors I requested.
I called Janet’s and explained my dissapointment. The very nice lady that answered the phone asked what they could do for me. I simply told them that I wanted the difference between the cake I had originally wanted and the larger cake (that I ordered to get the two flavors) she said, ok no problem. She appoligized and said my store credit didn’t have an expiration date.
I was upset, but happy that they made it right.

I’m not sure what the other Janet’s is on market st, but I was in B/​N about two weeks ago and the store on Guido dr. seemed to be going strong.
That being said, this is the best cake I’ve ever had, and I know my cake.
My husband and I ordered our wedding cake from Janets after trying all of the other places in town. It was reasonably priced, the samples were amazing, our cake looked beautiful the day of the wedding, and they did a great job decorating the cake table for us. I never got more than the bite from cutting the cake, which I don’t really remember, but everyone said it was great.
However, that was over a year ago. I had heard of people having problems with their cakes on their first anniversary, but when we thawed it out, it was perfect. Literally, it tastes like we just brought it home, and we were way too lazy to wrap it in any special way. The cakes are just that good.
