Easily the best yarn shop in the area. They carry a lovely variety of high-​quality yarn as well as needles and the various other doodads required for maximal craftiness. I first learned to knit by taking a class here. The instructor was friendly and supportive and helped me get on the road to knitting glory with minimal frustration. Since then I have returned many times to stock up on supplies, ask questions of the friendly, knowledgeable staff, or show off my latest creations.
In A Yarn Basket is shopping local the way it should be. They create a community atmosphere by offering such personalized service (they literally will make it a point to know your name) and by hosting «knit/​crochet nights» and other regular events. The staff are always happy to chat about knitting or really anything else. And their prices are extremely reasonable for the high-​quality items they carry. Yesterday I looked up the price on Amazon for the circular needles I bought here. In A Yarn Basket’s price was actually *cheaper* and I could support a local business without waiting for shipping! Really a no-​brainer to shop here. Particularly since they always have chocolate on hand.

Love love love this store!!! The ladies are so nice and friendly. I always buy something here I get so inspired! My sister turned me on to this shop when she first moved here several years ago and it’s one of our stops every trip I make to Indiana.

The ladies who work at this shop are the nicest ever! If I come in with a question or get stuck in a project they’re always willing to help. And, of course, they have lots of wonderful yarn — a very large selection, reasonable prices, and knitting lessons! I recommend this place to all my crafty friends.
