they shredded the lining and then tore many areas on my vintage suede jacket that i had just bought. over one year later, i’m still waiting to get compensated for their mess! john hanson is arguing with me — when he does get back to me after months of nothing — that i must prove the depreciated value of this coat before he’ll pay me. never in my life have i been treated so poorly by a business.

There aren’t any real good cleaners in this town. Surprising since there are so many white collar jobs in this town…

It seems like Hanson’s Cleaners has the best reputation of any dry-cleaner in Bloomington/Normal. Personally, I’m not sure what the fuss is about. Hanson is certainly the most expensive cleaner in the area but my clothes look just as good when they come back, pressed in plastic, from any dry-cleaner. I have had problems with every dry-cleaner that I’ve ever been to in B/N and Hanson’s is no exception. I once took a pair of slacks there for a routine cleaning and when I picked them up there was a long black mark down the side. I noticed this in the car and promptly returned them to be re-cleaned. When I came back, the line was still there. I showed them again and they cleaned them again. Third time’s the charm with black streaks on slacks I guess. They didn’t offer me any compensation for my 3 trips to their store, so I’m done with them.
