Delicious drinks and spacious studying area! I visited on a warm summer day and took my coffee outdoors. They have lots of seating options and the drinks were beautiful and artistic! Plus yummy! Gave me just the energy kick I was looking for.

Feel so good café and probably best in this town! I really like their latte and mexican mocha. Very good espresso machine and coffee bean with skillful barista. I wish they are in my town.

I decided to give this location one more try, and once again the drink was HORRIBLE. not sure how one can mess up vanilla iced coffee but it was absolutely terrible. I will never come to either location again.

The Mocha is incredible. The Mexican Mocha is also incredible. Great service, nice people, and not overly«Portlandia» in the vibe vibe. Yes, I typed vibe twice. I’m not talking about the vibe, I’m talking about the vibe OF the vibe. Meta-vibe.

The Coffee Hound has a great atmosphere! I especially love the unique character. It definitely has a different feel to Starbucks, more cozy. It would be a perfect place to meet a date or get some homework done. They have two locations, one in Downtown Bloomington, and one in Uptown Normal.

A perfect coffee place right on Main Street. Ordered a drip coffee of their Sulawesi blend, and bought a whole bag as soon as I tried it. One of the best coffees I’ve had. They had a cool set up in the back where it looked like they did their roasting and blending. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Bloomington

I’d like to give this place a higher review. We’ve stopped here twice in the last several months on our way through the area. The coffee is pretty good, I like the location and most of the staff has been fine for the most part. Some of the kids are a little haughty but that’s nothing new when it comes to coffee shops for whatever reason. Like I say, I’d give it a higher review if I hadn’t been charged $ 6 for a couple of SMALL milks for the kids!!! $ 3 for 8oz of milk works out to about $ 50 for a gallon. I’d mark everything up too if I were running a business but that’s crazy. Maybe the kids just over charged me. I’ll never know I guess.

Went here 5 days of the week for four years of college. Incredible coffee, friendly baristas that remember you, quiet spot conducive to studying/cramming. Perfect for students.

Great coffee! Just stopped in on a whim from out of town and got a Carmel latte. Very strong, freshly roasted and thick. Fairly priced. Could use a little more seating, but it’s only busy because it’s so popular !

As a self-confessed coffee geek, I researched this place when I knew I was going to be living and working in Bloomington. I was not disappointed when I got here. This place is what a great coffee house should be. They make great lattes and pour-overs, and you can buy their custom roasted coffees to take home, whole bean and ground. Last I was here was in May 2014.

Pecan bars are the best and the coffee is exceptional. Can’t beat the atmosphere in the place either.

Unfortunately it’s the only real coffee shop Bloomington or Normal has to offer. Space is not comfortable, atmosphere is stiff and nearly impossible to get that«relaxing at a coffee shop» experience. Every drink leaves much to be desired. I understand I’m spoiled a bit by good coffee experiences but with the hours, uninviting atmosphere, and sub par coffee I feel like my kitchen is the best coffee in Bloomington.

I gave Coffee Hound five stars because I like the coffee beans so much, but there are three parts to review: 1. The roast: This is where I buy my beans, they roast the beans in the back every week and they always get the right roast for the variety of bean. Five out of five on the roasting, and the info about the varietal, washing, growth altitude, other coffee nerdery. This is what they do best, and so I usually just pop in, buy a 12 oz bag, and leave. Usually this is not a problem, but… 2. The experience: If it is a Saturday, or other time when more than a handful of customers are in the building, it is loud, the line winds to the coffee beans and blocks the bakery display, and the espresso machine is blocked in by the register. Add in people milling about waiting for their orders(and blocking the door), and it becomes an ordeal. I think I’ve seen worse so two out of five. 3. Coffee Drinks: All the prepared coffee tastes weak to me, and my wife agrees. Some friends agree, and others like the taste, so this is personal preference. The espresso drinks are fine, not great, but not as bad as the coffee. The cold brewed coffee is the best of what they make. They recommend diluting it with water, but I think it’s better straight. Four out of five.

You’ve ruined me coffee-hound, and in the best possible way. Atmosphere? Check. Local store legend? Check. Great artisan coffee perfected from years of experience? Check. Been coming here before I even grew to love coffee and dear sweet coffee hound you are my paradigm in which all other coffee places are judged. Fo’real.

Yes I am a fan. This coffee is good stuff. Although, I am not from the area I do business out this way from time to time and this will always be my «go to» place for good coffee! The staff is always friendly. Support your local businesses!

I visit Coffehound before going into work sometimes. It’s a little expensive, but totally worth every penny for the quality. Their coffee drinks always taste great. I personally like their seasonal lattes. Their pumpkin latte was awesome. I had the Eggnog Latte on Friday and it tasted sooooo good! They recently started doing a loyalty program through the app LoyalTree. I go there enough that it was worth a download. It’s also nice because now I don’t have to worry about losing a punch card. I also love that they have gluten-free and Paleo bakery items. I like the vibe of the atmosphere in both the Uptown and Downtown locations. Uptown has a more modern feel while Downtown has an older feel.

For the amount of times I’ve been here, I think it’s time I’ve written a review. Honestly, this is one of the highlights of Bloomington-Normal. I really like coffee, and this place delivers every time. Not only is their coffee awesome, but their other drinks are fabulous as well. I have tried a majority of the drinks on the menu, and I have yet to be disappointed. Additionally, I will severely miss their vanilla latte after I move out of this area. Great atmosphere and great coffee. What can I say? I really love this place.

Hands down my favorite local coffee shop in Bloomington. As someone who doesn’t drink coffee, they have some other good options like hot chocolate and french and italian sodas. Fast and free wi-fi, friendly staff, and some cool looking coffee machines in the back make for a great place to get some coffee or other drinks. They seem to have some unique coffee blends from all over the world. Just wish they would be open later… 6pm seems pretty early for a coffee shop. See you soon!
