I’m giving this place a 2 star because the food was ok. My friends was not made correctly. It took 20 minutes to get a water. It took another 50 minutes to get our food. I asked for ketchup and got none. I got one off a dirty table and the waitress grabbed it without asking. The cook was terribly slow and dirty looking. The waitress was more interested in checking her phone than waiting on the three tables she had. I won’t go again and wouldn’t recommend it unless you have 2 hours to kill. Bad service all around and it is recommended that you be very drunk, as the other diners seemed to be

Been here a couple times after midnight, and the same thing happened both times: it takes 15 minutes for the waiter/ess to take the order, and then 30 – 40 more minutes for the meal to arrive. The food itself is alright, but the service is annoyingly slow.

Ugh. Where to begin… I really wanted to like this place, ever single time I’ve eaten here I’ve been sick afterwords. I’m not sure what the problem is, maybe they cross contaminate, maybe they buy really bad produce. Avoid avoid avoid.

This is my favorite place in the world. I come here so much the staff recognize me. Hoosier Haystacks are life. It’s open 24⁄7 and has 24⁄7 breakfast so it is the best restaurant in existence. Often the highlight of my day is going to B Town Diner. Hell, I’ve come here alone before. I can never finish the Hoosier Haystack but that only means I have more for later. I’ve eaten here so much that 78% of my blood is liquid Hoosier haystack. They have other amazing things on their menu such as the Fancy Pancakes, Stuffed French Toast, or literally anything else you can find on the menu. Thank you so much for this restaurant. Thank you. God bless. I live it, I breathe it. B town Diner.

The name and the sign outside of this restaurant may deceive you, but the food was actually a delight. What this diner has that others do not is that it is open late and walking distance from the nightlife. If it weren’t for the late hours and close proximity, I may not have tried this place. I was told the Reuben was excellent and I must recommend the macaroni and cheese with its curly noodles and smooth, stringy cheese.

The experience I just had at this place was phenomenal. Every part of the experience was on point. The food, the service; it was so refreshing to have such a good experience with a restaurant in town. Chris was my server, and I can say without a doubt that I would entrust my life to this man, he was so on top of my needs. Dream come true. Go here. Ask for Chris, my main mang.

I don’t know why it took me so long to eat here. The restaurant is cute and very clean. Our server was the best server I’ve encountered in Bloomington(very kind, attentive, helpful). The coffee was great and from Brown County(nice to keep it local). Now to the important stuff… FOOD. The entire menu looked fantastic but I was in the mood for classic. For five measly dollars I had delicious, house made hash browns, grits and two eggs over medium. It was the perfect breakfast. I only wish that I could make my own eggs so perfectly. The wife had a similar meal but with a pancake and bacon instead. She raved about how delicious that huge pancake was. I can’t wait to eat here again!

Normal greasy diner food. Open late which is nice, but it took 50 min to get the food after ordering. When the food was brought over, it looked like it had been sitting for a while. Some of the staff were kind of rude when answering simple questions. Won’t be my first choice to go back but not terrible.

I’ve been here twice. The first time was for breakfast, which was pretty decent. I’d probably give 3.5−4 stars for that visit. Had an omelet and biscuits and gravy. Everything was warm and coffee was good. Some of the dishes seemed a little dirty. One of our coffee cups even had some lipstick still on it. The place could use a clean up, too. Just looks a little grimy. On to my recent visit. Visited around 5pm on a Sunday and ordered the«double-decker» BLT+turkey with a side of chili-cheese fries. My fiancée ordered coffee and a cinnamon roll as she had already eaten previously. First off, the coffee was forgotten about by our waitress and when we asked where it was, we were given lukewarm coffee; not good! We asked if there was a fresh pot and she said she’d have to make some. Ok… So, in the meantime our food comes out. My BLT was not a double-decker as the menu specified, but I just kept my mouth shut. The Turkey on it was a measly 2 slices of super-thin, cheap lunchmeat quality. The sandwich alone was about $ 8, if not a little more. It was so small and probably only worth $ 3 – 4 quite honestly. On the other hand, the side of chili cheese fries was actually quite good! The cinnamon roll, unfortunately, was very dry and not fresh. Oh, and by the end of the meal, the new pot of coffee hadn’t finished… What a terrible experience. And while we were eating, a couple really loud, obnoxious 20 year olds came in and starting goofing off and just being generally rude. One was an employee, and the other was his friend who kept bothering him. I don’t know if the manager was absent, but this shouldn’t have been allowed. Our waitress was inattentive as she did homework throughout our meal. Our waters weren’t filled up at all. We hurriedly ate and were given a to-go cup of coffee… At this point it didn’t matter and we said thanks and left. We will not be back again.

So you probably aren’t aware of this, but I recently had breakfast at the b-town diner. That was a mistake. I kept my breakfast simple. ½ order of biscuits and gravy, and a side of bacon. The good news is that the bacon was good, but it pretty much ends there. Did I mention oj? Probably not. I also got somewhat watery oj with my meal. I’m not even sure how to describe the rest of the meal. Breakfast came on a chipped plate. My silverware was dirty and I had to have it replaced. The gravy was bland and needed a lot of pepper. I don’t know what was under the gravy but it was not a biscuit. Maybe cornbread? The server was nice, and the food came out fairly quickly. If the city burns to the ground and there are no restaurants but this, give it a try. Otherwise go anywhere else and enjoy things like clean silverware and plates that aren’t chipped. And flavor. You’ll get that too.

My BF and I came here for a late Lunch on a Sunday, about 2:30pm. There must have been a staffing switch because we sat down, got our drinks by one person, 10 minutes later our order taken by another, and 40 minutes later our food came out with another person. 40MINUTESLATER!!! The place was empty! There was a table of 6 people and it took 10 minutes for the woman to run their credit cards. I mean, i would understand a 40 minute wait if it was packed but it wasn’t. After we got our food, two of the servers left and we had to flag down the remaining girl to get our bill. *edit* I forgot to add, that we ordered the loaded Fries, with cheese and banana peppers, the fries were not even warm. We sat without drinks for a good 15 minutes and started thinking we should get our drinks from the pop machine ourselves. Our server NEVER offered to refill my coffee cup. I had to ask her every time she came by our table which was literally only to drop off our food. She never came back to our table to check on us. We sat in the middle of the building, I can’t imagine if we sat near the front, she might have never seen us. If you have to option sit as far towards the back as possible because that is where the servers were hanging out. In a booth chilling. We came here because we wanted to go to a diner, but we will never come back. I don’t know if this place is the front for another business or what but with their shitty service I CANNOT imagine this place staying in business. If you are an adult of any kind and not looking for a 24 hours place go elsewhere.

I have been back at least a half dozen times and the food is back to its original awesomeness! This diner provides excellent quality food with amazing service. Ashley is the best waitress!

This place is a cheap diner & I love it that way. This isn’t a cute breakfast place to get brunch, it’s a diner. The décor is nothing fancy but I don’t expect it to be. Food wise… The breakfast is great! Great people & great service. The biscuits & sausage gravy are my go to. The prices are great & the food is tasty. Now it’s open 24⁄7 so that’s even better.

They open all night on Sunday, their sweet potato fries are not that good, but their breakfast is ok, but they provide all day breakfast even lasts night, which is great!

Best place for cheap breakfast. Best place for late-night food. I rate restaurants based on what they try to be, not on what I want them to be. This is a Diner. No frills. It’s not trying to be anything more, and if you expect anything more you are going to the wrong place. If you want a fancy breakfast this is not your spot. B-Town makes solid, cheap food, and does so nearly 24⁄7. That is what it tries to be and it succeeds. This Diner is affordable, and the food is much better than you’d expect by looking simply looking at it. I’ve had breakfast and dinner selections off of the menu and I’ve never had something I thought was bad. The décor is horrible, but you don’t eat the décor, and the food is cheap enough that I don’t care.

Btown Diner solidly delivers on its promise of being a diner. Good food, great breakfast creations. Decent price. I got the haystack and it was a mount of breakfast greatness. Just like he name promises. Service was quit and hassle free. Good came fast as well. The room is a long strip. There are some nice posters and pictures that remind you your in Bloomington, and all the history that comes with that. The best part of this place, honestly, is the hours. I have yet to go by it and it be closed. And I work at a bar down the street that gets out all kinds of late. Yet, this place is always open. In effect, it’s a great last stop of the night spot for food. And it’s not crap food. Hard to find at that time of the night.

My wife and I decided to give this spot a try for breakfast. We were seated immediately and our server was pleasant and attentive. I had the chicken and waffles which were good. Not great but fine. Likewise the coffee was fine but not what you would call a great cup. My wife said her Challah French Toast with banana and Nutella, which she described as «ridiculous, but in a good way.» So if you want desert for breakfast that might be the way to go. I probably would give this place a 4 star review instead of 3 had not the following occurred. A random woman in street clothes just leaned into our table and said«YUMMMY!» as she walked by. After keeping an eye on her after that I surmised she’s the owner or a manager or something. Adding a creepy spin on the already kind of annoying practice of the restaurant manager asking you how everything is did not leave a good impression.

TL;DR: Long wait to sit, long wait for food. Bad food when it finally gets there. So I hear great things about the diner. We walk in to about 4 groups milling about. The hostess comes up about 3 – 4 minutes later and takes out names while saying that they have never had to do this before. I inquire about the wait time and she says 20 minutes. We hear 2 separate groups ask about their food during our wait, and the hostess steps outside for a bit. There is no good place to stand and as a result, 5 groups come and leave. Total wait time was about 35 minutes, and our names were taken again after 20 minutes. When our seat was clearing, the hostess left to talk to her daughter outside again, so we stood for about an extra 5 just for her personal time. It was obvious that they were understaffed for a full house, and no clear distinction between staff and customer(apron, badge, something!) So we finally sit and get a soda and coffee. The soda tasted like the lines were not bled for weeks and was off. My wife said her coffee tasted fine until she almost spit the last drink all over the table due to a lot of grounds in it. A staffer dropped an egg and went to the back without marking or getting someone to stand there, and someone almost ate floor as a result. Finally someone babysat it while they got someone to clean it up. Food arrived after 30 minutes. Bacon was fine, biscuits and gravy were thick and tasted fine, maybe some more gravy was needed, but the chicken and waffles was TERRIBLE! The waffle was soft, flat, and spongey. The best description would be under-cooking it, then finishing it in the microwave after the fact. Runcible spoon has nothing to worry about from this place.
