I have been going to Eclectic Salon in Bloomingdale since 2008 or 2009. I was referred to Eclectic by my former boss – his wife and daughters go here and are happy with the service. I drive about 35 minutes to get there. As you ladies know, once you find a great stylist, you stick with her! There are several hair stylists there, all with different personalities. Because this is a smaller salon(about 10 chairs) all the stylists have good rapport with all the clients. Once you have been there a few times, everyone welcomes you when you walk in the door. They also have multiple mani/pedi stations, and a separate room for electrolysis. I was paired up with Laura P. and it has been a great match since the beginning. At my first appointment, she took plenty of time discussing what I wanted to do for style and color. I am always happy with the color, highlights, and lowlights. She has great talent styling hair that best shapes your face and matches your style. She receives many compliments on how gently she combs hair and blow dries hair.(I have been to other places, which I won’t name, that yank your hair so hard that you get whiplash). Earlier this year(March), Laura did my hair for my wedding. Because I have been going there for several years, I did not feel the need to do a trial-run-thru; I trust her work. She curled my long hair(time-consuming) and pinned it up partially. It worked very well with my veil. The curls and pins held up wonderfully all day and night, and it still looked great the following day. I received many compliments on my hair. I have also had a mani/pedi from Jamie twice. She does a great job. The manicure lasted perfectly chip-free for two weeks, which is great considering all the cooking and housework I do, lol. The pedicure lasted for months. Tip: I make my appointments during the week when the salon is more quiet. Saturdays can be quite busy and possibly chaotic if there is a wedding party there. Tip: Best to make an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome, but you might have to wait till a stylist becomes available.

I made an appointment for my son’s wedding I talked to the receptionist three times before that day. When I showed up that mourning the place was not even open. I opened the door and the owner was inside and said they were closed. I said then how did I have an appointment. She then knew who I was and said they made a mistake one hour to early. She said she could do my hair but needed to run to the bank and be back in 2 min. 20 minutes later she returned. She then started doing my hair seemed like it was going to be ok. It looked ok when I left but by two hours later fell completely out. It looked terrible pictures are horrible. It ruined my whole day. When I started to take it out about 11:30 that night there was only 7 bobby pins in the whole updue. My husband begged me not to go but I really trusted them. To bad it was a bad choice.
