We lost our pug over the weekend. I read reviews on Unilocal and the ratings could not have been more accurate. Joe was sympathetic to our loss, told us what to do and personally came by the house that day to pick her up. Fees were exactly as mentioned on the web. A couple days later he delivered the ashes as promised. We weren’t at home at the time since we were delayed at the park, and without hesitation or complaint, he stopped by the park to drop off the ashes. The engraved wooden box was beautiful; along with certificate and hair clipping. What an incredible service and a very compassionate man. Thank you Joe for making a sad event a little easier to bear.

Its good to know that there are business like this one in the Chicagoland area when you need it. After a bad experience at a vet… I was not comfortable taking any other advise from them and In a moment where not much could have been done to make me feel better… I found this company. Instinct to take my dog with me kicked in and I started to search my other options online. I found Joe’s company through google then read his story. I could relate in a way, so I felt he was the right person to take care of my Emma.
The location was a bit far from our house and my husband questioned why we didn’t find somewhere closer but going a little out of the way for something so important was no big deal to me. After my husband talked to Joe’s brother… I could tell in his eyes that he knew I WAS RIGHT… and he felt a little better. Its a hidden and small office where you get personal intimate compassionate attention… when you need it the most.

I would recommend Joe to anyone who has lost a pet and is looking for a place that will treat them and their beloved pet with respect. Joe gave me the options that I needed to get closure with my pets passing and was very helpful in getting through this painful time in my life, I will always be grateful to him and his kind words and compassionate service.

I cannot say enough good things about Joe and his business. He came recommended from a good friend and he made a really bad situation as good as it could be. I was upset (obviously) and he was consoling and very patient. I am a dog lover and unfortunately I will need cremation services again in the future. I would absolutely use his services again. Joe was exceptional. He rearranged his schedule to accommodate mine and met me at work to pick up my cat. Lovely human being with a very kind heart. I still can’t believe how quickly he was able to help me. Within 90 minutes of contacting him, my cat was in his care. I am completely grateful for his service.

After fighting bone cancer we finaly had to make to very tough choice to have our beloved Belle put to sleep. We are so glad that it was Joe who took care of making sure my baby was treated with respect and love and he did that and more. We had her put to sleep at 4:30 on a friday and Joe delivered her back home to us himself at 9:30 the same night. Thank you Joe for making it so our baby never had to spend a night away from her forever home. the communication was fantastic from leading up to the day till she was back home, Joe really understands how painful it is and he shows compassion and caring the entire time.

Wow, what can I say aside from agree with these other folks! Joe is a caring and great individual who ultimately shares the pain of his clients. Had to make the arrangements for our pet macaw of 21 years and Joe made us feel so very comfortable with leaving our beautiful little boy in his care.
He explained all of our options and pricing which was extremely reasonable compared to other entities in the area. He’s also extremely accommodating and had our boy back to us within just a few hours. It’s so calming to know that there is someone out there that’s not willing to take advantage of pet owners sorrow in situations like this. You are a savior!

5 star service from Joe. I used Unilocal to find him right after we lost our dog. I called 5 minutes before he was closing and he stayed open until we got there. He helped us understand that we lost our dog due to congestive heart failure which helped give us closure. He explained the fees which were $ 175 for a dog weighing up to 20 lbs. and sold us a wooden picture frame box for $ 75

Loosing a pet is never easy, no matter how big or small. I decided to get my pet hedgehog cremated because he has been my comfort during tough times and he was my sweet little angel.
Not knowing where, or how to go through the process, I was so glad I choose halo4paws. The owner Joey was very compassionate and understands how hard it is for us pet parents. I created this Unilocal account for the sole purpose of reviewing Chicagoland Pet Cremation. Unfortunately, if you are reading this then hard times have fallen upon you. All I can say is that you should do yourself this favor and choose Chicagoland Pet Cremation to handle the loss of your pet.
Their professional representatives are not only gentle, kind, and caring — but he genuinely cares about his customer’s loss, and will go above and beyond to ensure this very difficult time goes as smoothly as possible.
I was nowhere near ready for the loss of my 14 year old husky whom I grew up with, but when I look back on our final moments together, I can honestly say that Chris’ contribution after-​the-​fact made things much easier for me.

This place is amazing! Joey is wonderful and compassionate. Our dog passed unexpectedly and we were just at a loss and heartbroken. Joey met us there quickly and with so much compassion that we were able to at least stop crying for a bit, he gave us as much time as we wanted to spend with our lost pet and he really understood our pain. I have absolutely no doubt that our dog (also Joey) was treated with dignity and respect I have given out cards to everyone I know as I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone who loves their animal. Chicagoland Pet Cremation (CPC) is an incredible family run business.
When my pug passed away I didn’t want to go through my vet to have him cremated, so I called around to various places found from a google search. Joe at CPC was hands down the most personable and caring business owner I spoke to. He was kind, informative and quick to help. When he came to pick up, Norman, Joe comforted me by explaining the process of cremation and how he would care for Norman with respect and kindness.
Once Norman was cremated, Joe called me right away to schedule a drop off. The package I received back from CPC was amazing. Norman’s ashes were tightly sealed in a nice cardboard box, placed in a paw themed bag and came with a personal note to me regarding the loss of my best friend and companion. If that were not enough, Joe took it a step further and made sure to clip a piece of Norman’s fur and placed it in a small sealed baggie for me to remember Norman with. Everything about CPC screams thoughtfulness!
I could not have asked for a better company to take care of me and my late companion than Joe and his family at Chicagoland Pet Cremation.

When my 20-​year old cat Libby passed away in my arms, I was devastated to lose a pet I had been friends longer with than most humans. A quick Google search and the reviews here led me to Joe.
His compassion is so genuine, as many other other reviewers have mentioned. He didn’t rush through anything and I felt supremely taken care of. He also told me he started his business after one of the big name cremation «giants» had mishandled the remains of his dog Buddy, and so he vowed to put an end to anyone having to go through a similar experience.
Joe truly cares about his clients and is there for them in a time of grief and suffering. It’s clear he is a pet lover himself and truly understands they are part of the family. When he delivered Libby’s ashes and paw print, he even gave me a hug. I am so glad I could support his business instead of someone else’s.

I can’t recommend Joe and Chicagoland Pet Cremation highly enough. I’ve been through losing a lot of dogs. The experience I had this fall with losing my 14 year old Dachshund was, in many ways, the best it could possibly be. We had the vet come to our home (see review of Pet Loss At Home separately), and then needed to think about what to next. The vet service has an arrangement where they will take your pet’s body with them, if needed, but I didn’t want that. I found Halo4Paws on the web and decided to give it a try.
I dropped my little sweetheart’s body off at Joe’s location on a beautiful September day. It’s an unremarkable office in an industrial /​strip mall area — not unexpected, and didn’t bother me in the slightest. The office itself is tidy and quiet. There is a display of the different types of urns and boxes you can purchase, include some lovely wood ones into which Joe can etch a picture of your pet and whatever words you want. Take a look at those if you are interested. He does the work himself.
Joe personally took her from me, and he handled everything until he personally dropped her remains off at our house the next day.
As I said, I can’t recommend him and his business highly enough — Unilocal only has 5 stars. It’s very reassuring to know that your pet’s body is going to be handled with respect and not stacked up in a corner. Another reviewer said that «this is no regular guy (just) doing his job.» It’s true. He got into this because he had a terrible experience taking his own dog for cremation at another large service. He felt that there had to be a place for a business with more heart in its dealings, and he’s right. I will never use anyone else for this as long as we are in Illinois and can get to Chicagoland Pet Cremation.

I’ve never lost a pet while I’ve been an adult and was completely unprepared. I was not expecting the loss of my little buddy Scribble to be so incredibly difficult, even though she had the incurable kind of lymphoma and knew this day would come sooner or later. For the past year and a half, I had to be her nurse. Two months before the end, I wasn’t just giving her medicine, but bathing her, picking up after her since she couldn’t make it to the litter box, and all sorts of extra attention. She had no problem walking, had a ravenous appetite, wasn’t in pain, and she looked forward to hanging out with me so I couldn’t put her to sleep. A week before she passed, she was spending more time with me than usual. When cats pass away, they go find a quiet place away from everything, but she was even trying to sit on my lap while I was on the toilet! I thought the new medicine & food was working and she was getting better. Pooping solid and no throwing up in a week. When The Lord decided that He wanted to hang out with her, I was a blindsided and a wreck. Going from full time caretaker to nothing in an instant was hard. She was a Bengal cat, so she was always talking. Constantly. Now it was quiet. I didn’t know what to do, and as a fireman who really doesn’t have a soft side, I didn’t ask anyone for support or advice. I see death every day at work, but this was different. I ordered the most beautiful Urn for Scribble on the internet and decided I was going to put her ashes on the window ledge so the sun would shine on her every day. Now what? I went to Unilocal and started researching pet services. I came across CPC, called but there was no answer. But Joe called back almost instantly. This is no regular guy doing his job. I could not believe how professional he was. He was very consoling, asked questions about Scribbles personality, and chose his words extremely carefully. He even was able to schedule Scribbles service that day, and I called at noon. When I arrived, I broke down. Joe is an incredibly caring individual and understood the situation. I wasn’t able to wait, so Joe offered to drop Scribble off at my home after the Cremation. He made me pawprints with her name in the clay, and got some of her fur. Complete documents were returned to me, all in a professional package. Not what I expected at all, I figured just her in a cardboard box with a receipt. She came home in a package with every detail thought out carefully. Even though in times like this I would have paid a lot of money, the cost was extremely reasonable. I would have bought Scribbles Urn there if I knew places like this existed. So now the ordeal is over, Scribble is now making The Lord happy and her memories live on. This tough guy is healing and extremely grateful that I got 10 wonderful years with Scribble and that someone like Joe is around to give her the service she deserved. If anyone needs more information about CPC, email me and I’ll get right back. CPC gets 100 stars. I could not be more satisfied and will refer CPC to everyone.

Pets become family and losing family is incredibly difficult. Joe was there for my family when we said goodbye to our dog. He came to my home and did everything he could to comfort us while caring for our dog’s final arrangements. It’s not an easy job or service to provide, people are at their worst in these moments; it takes true caring professionals to do this well and Chicagoland Pet Cremation took care of us when we needed them. I recommend them highly.

Just received the ashes back last night of my friend Chaka. This was the first time I have ever done this for a ‘pet’. I was very impressed on the professional, caring, and fast response time I received from dealing with Joe. Whether it be a call or text I had a quick response. This is uncommon in most businesses today. It was greatly appreciated. The respect and professional manner is what I think most people will appreciate. Thanks Joe, for help through a sad time!

My family pet passed away, which left my family pretty heartbroken. We found Chicagoland Pet Cremation, who did an amazing job of helping console us for our loss. We called the phone number, and although he wasn’t at the office, the owner was willing to come down to the office to receive our pet. He have us all the time in the world to say goodbye to our friend, and helped to console my mom, who was taking it the hardest.
We also ordered a laser engraved ash box for our pet. The engraving didn’t come out exactly as the business owner wanted it to, so he made it again until it was perfect, even if it meant that he had to scrap a piece of inventory.
The owner was sincere helpful to me and my family during our loss, and took care of us as if he lost own pet. He told us his motivation for starting this business was that he was treated so poorly and wronged by other cremation services, that he wanted to provide a service where bereaving pet owners can be treated the way they should be.
Although this isn’t the kind of even that pops up very often, I would not hesitate to recommend using this place when a pet passes away.
