Great option for lunch in the area. The menu is large and includes many different types of items.(Be sure to check for specials, too.) I got the reuben and was very satisfied. Try to get here before noon, though; it’ll definitely get crowded. The line can be out the door! Wednesdays are bagel hotdog days. Gotta check that out.

Turkey BLT wrap with mayo is my order every time. They don’t skimp on the bacon which is why I keep coming back. Nice staff and they keep the line moving. Give it a shot if you are in the area we don’t have many options to choose from for a quick quality place for lunch.

Having visited their other location in West Hartford I had great expectations when I started visiting their Bloomfield location. Wow, was I in for a surprise, while the customer service in WH has always been stellar, Bloomfield fails dreadfully at its task. In the WH store you can see the owner working hard behind the counter or filling the coffee dispensers, what you can expect in Bloomfield is to see its owner sitting in one of the booths talking with the contractors that seem to love to sit and talk every morning. I have waited at the counter for over three minutes while the staff talks, or argues with each other, like one of the other Unilocalers mentioned. You would think that a store that has way less customers would be able to take care of the people that come in but at this location that would not be the case. Yes the bagels are the same in both places, but lets be honest, it’s about how you are treated in an establishment that can make or break them. The last straw was a couple of weeks ago, I told the woman at the counter two times how I would like my bagel, non toasted with butter. I guess I should have stayed to watch her prepare my food instead of getting my coffee. I’m sick of going in here, not getting acknowledged, listening to a bunch of nonsensical personal business, getting my orders wrong ¼ of the time. I will miss their bagels, but I am done with this place myself. My hint to those who do enter here, watch them prepare your food if you want it done right.

I never get out this way and have no idea where good eats are hiding. I figured since I had time to kill — arrived for a Unilocal field trip to Hartford Baking Co. early — I would find somewhere to have breakfast. I quickly realized my mistake. There is nothing for miles.(No, I do not count Dunkin Donuts since to me, DnD =YUCK) then I spotted Lox. Like a glowing beacon in a desolate land, I immediately pulled a u-ee and headed there. The establishment is very large with plenty of places to sit and it is also very clean. You can immediately smell the variety of bagels in the air making it very difficult to pick just one. I must have looked like a fish out of water and the girl at the counter was friendly and offered suggestions since I have never been to any of the Lox locations in the past. This is a no brainer, like picking my favorite burger, if it includes the word«jalepeno» in the description; bring it on. I had the jalapeño and cheddar bagel with egg and cheese. The bagel was covered in melted, crispy cheddar and the texture was soft and chewy. Possibly one of the best«fast» breakfast sandwiches I have had. Fresh egg and cheese, the sandwich was gone in less time than it took to write this sentence. Hot coffee, friendly atmosphere and good food is a great way to start a day. I’d say I scored with this chance find. If I am ever out this way again, I’ll be back. TL;DR– good bagels, good sandwiches and good coffee. if your hungry, eat here. Jalapeño cheddar bagel = OMG

Lots of tension noticed between the employees and their supervisor. Eye rolling and more. I’m standing there, hoping to give one of the FIVE of them standing there my order and they are too busy giving each other the evil eye. Bizarre. Asked for a caraway bagel(huge sign on wall lists that) only to be told, oh, we never have those. Huh? Told her light mayo on the BLT and wow, I took one bite and it was dripping everywhere. Taste is good but too messy — tossed more than half of it as the mayo made the bagel super soggy, super quick. I kind of get the feeling that the staff thinks they are doing you a huge favor. Don’t think I’ll be back.

Back when I was a lowly-intern, Lox was there to bail me out more than I can count for those rough nights and early mornings. In this area of Bloomfield, there is NOTHING to choose from for good eats. You got your local chinese take-out place, slim pickings from the gas station, or pizza — not much for those times when you want something delicious and healthy, «forgot» to make lunch, or just want to splurge on a Friday. Known for their impressive bagel selection and options, it’s great that they’re open at 5am. Breakfast sandwiches, salads and soups, this place really is the end-all be-all breakfast/lunch destination. I’m a huge fan of their wraps! Personal favorites are the«mighty aphrodite, turkey bacon bravo, or hail caesar». If there was one thing to nit-pick, I wish they were a bit bigger. Sure you get a side of either a pickle, chips or slaw but still. Maybe it’s that I can eat, but I fondly remember buying a sandwich and wrap, or 2 wraps at a time ALL the time — yeah, they’re THAT good, but just a tad too small. Was here last week on a sales call right at noon. Yes, it’s ALWAYS slammed for lunch, but the line moves quick. They added some more booths and chairs too which is nice. Lox Stock, you’re doing this area a real solid, keep it coming!

So, I was driving by one morning, and I caught a glimpse of Lox Stock and Bagel’s sign out of the corner of my right eye and I pulled a quick u-turn. I love the West Hartford location to an unreasonable degree so stumbling across another location made this«not a morning person» quite happy for 8:30 am. To anyone who compares the bagels to Dunkin, I have a questions; When you’re surfing Pinterest do you excitedly repin recipes with descriptors like«tastes just like Olive Garden!»? Also, do you seek out chain restaurants when you travel, ostensibly because the food is good, but in actuality you don’t know what good food is and you’re just too boring to find out? I wager you say YES for both. The bagels are great and the selection is wayyyy beyond what larger chains offer. The coffee is better too. Get it. Also, you’re in the realm of bagel legitimacy when the menu says«schmeer» as opposed to spread.

There is noting special about Lox Stock and Bagels, but nothing bad either. The coffee is decent. The bagels are definitely better than Dunkin. The people are okay. . I guess they would of gone a round up to a 4 from a 3.5 if it wasn’t for the nasty notes on the board(put your phone away). I just don’t appreciate restaurants defining my phone courtesy, especially if I’m just waiting in line and surfing on the internet. Yet anytime I have a meeting in this area of Windsor, this is a defato breakfast stop. Its quick, simple, and decent. If I had one advice.. .just tear down the annoying signs, we are going to ignore them anyway. What are you going to do, kick us out for being on our phone?

The interior is quite antiseptic, feels like a high school cafeteria. Some color on the walls and a little effort could do wonders for the atmosphere. I usually get wraps there for lunch and while they are filling, you are charged practically two dollars just to add a slice of cheese and peppers. They are filling however and very popular with the lunch crowd, often a line out the door. Like the option of a free side… either a pickle, macaroni salad or free chips. I question the«free» part though, seems like the inflated prices were done to accommodate the sides. The breaded chicken rubs me the wrong way… it is usually soggy and has an odd taste. The shredded lettuce is flavorless and the tomatoes are pinkish with no flavor. Staff is very friendly however. They are nice people and do a great job. Just wish they had more affordable prices and better quality ingredients.

Three words: Cheddar, everything bagel. I’ve been here for lunch takeout more than breakfast but the other morning on my way to work I had a little extra time on my hands and a hankering for an awesome bagel. I got egg, bacon(that I requested as crispy, and it was!!) and cheese on the cheddar everything. I love cheesy bagels but often there seems to be a boatload of jalepeno cheddar bagels at most places and spicy peppers can give me a migraine so I was elated to see this flavor. The price was a bit much($ 5 and change just for the sammy) but it was really good. Also, I’m spoiled by an awesome cafeteria at my office where the average breakfast sammy is under $ 3. Good, swift service, a nice selection of bagels and sandwiches… check it out!

Today I purchased a Greek salad for here. It looks delish. I got two dressing for this big salad. Ranch and Greek. The Greek dressing was ok, I thought it would be garlicky but no The ranch dressing was good. the tomatoes where firm and the olives where too. I don’t like onions on my salad, but they are pre made so I took them off. The fetta cheese was very mild, not at all bitter. In a pinch I would buy this salad again with different dressings.

A solid dependable winner. You get exactly what you expect– fresh bagels, good generous portioned sandwiches(on bagel or wrap), nice salads, a few soups, chips, Snapple and sodas. The service staff is nice and friendly, I never had a bad experience there. In fact, once I orderd a soup, there wasn’t enough left in the vat to fill the container, so she emptied it out and gave it to me as a freebie. That was very nice of her. I’ve been there a dozen times and was treated nicely every time.

Lox Stock and Bagels has a few locations, and most people are familiar with the West Hartford branch. However, living in Windsor, I’ve become a regular customer of the Bloomfield location. A couple of notes to remember: the location is kind of out of the way, near manufacturing and distribution centers and not near any other shopping/dining establishments(other than Vito’s). Additionally, it’s not open on weekends(which is a big drawback). The menu includes sandwiches and pastries, but the bagels and cream cheese are the stars here. The bagels are freshly-baked and flavorful. You can get anything from a standard plain bagel, to the everything bagel, to more interesting flavors like cheddar or spinach. The cream cheeses range from light to rather heavy(such as the bacon horseradish, my favorite). I’m a fan of tomato with my bagel and cream cheese, and Lox has that as an option. Additionally, the staff is very friendly and eager to please. That’s definitely a plus in a breakfast place, since you might not be fully awake(or may not have had your first cup of coffee) when you arrive. Overall, if you are in the area I would recommend it for a quick breakfast.
