First, thank you Sheila & Jeff, the managers, for your warm hospitality and helpfulness! You made our stay very comfortable and hassle-free. We are a family of 3 including a baby. IMR is not upscale or fancy, but cozy and has all the basics. The property and rooms are kept very clean. We stayed in room 9, a studio. The room was newly renovated with a full bed, fold out couch and small dining table, also ensuite bathroom and small kitchen. It suited us fine. We ate some meals out @ Eli’s, Poor People’s Pub, the National Hotel, the Spring House, Rebecca’s Take-out and the Beachcomber. We also grilled on the gas grills on the property, which was a nice option. We took an informative and scenic tour with Ben McAloon of Block Island Taxi & Tours. Ben was so knowledgable and thorough; we learned so much. We rented bikes and toured the island on our own another day, highly recommended. Also, don’t miss the camels and kangaroos @ Abrams Animal Farm. The Facebook pics of the rooms reflect the renovations done. You can’t beat the location; beach, stores, restaurants within 5 mins walk. There’s no pool or gym, but the beach is so close. This was a wonderful, island retreat for us.

It’s very simple: no air conditioning(but each room has two fans), nice new bathroom, kitchenette with microwave, grills for BBQ-ing outside, outside recreation area for small children, bike racks, TV with VHS or DVD player in every room, refrigerator. You go to Block Island to enjoy it for what it has to offer outside so there’s no real need to have to stay somewhere fancy where you’re only in there to sleep really. At night the island is cool enough that the two fans going provide adequate comfort. Considering what most places charge a night out here this spot was affordable. I would recommend to a friend, and I would stay there again… and plan to next year. I had no real complaints. I gave it 5 stars even though it’s not fancy because it took care of my basic needs and wasn’t expecting to be amazed or anything so I was not disappointed. Everyone that stays there is incredibly friendly. There are even plates, pots and pans, silverware, cups, clean sheets and pillows. There’s a full size bed that hides up against the wall, and there’s also a full size bed in the sofa that folds out.

No frills lodging. Exchanged our timeshare for this place. The rooms are small, no a/c(but apparently that’s common on the island). Each one has a kitchenette and refrigerator –that’s always good for extended stays. The Island Manor as a whole is clean and looks nice. 3 grills and 2 bike racks outside and reception is friendly and accommodating. The owner/family lives on the premises, so if you ever need anything, they are about. Note: I overheard that if you want to come in the non-peak season, they have very reasonable rates, just inquire!
