Beach Real Estate is the most accommodating Real Estate office on the Island. Beautiful houses and all very clean! I’d highly recommend renting from these ladies. Mary and Nancy are very knowledgable about the Island which is helpful if you are new to Block Island. I’m looking forward to my yearly summer trip and a warm welcome from Mary and Nancy as always! A few of the words that come to mind after dealing with Mary from Beach Real Estate. Rude, unprofessional, disrespectful and egotistical. A few of the words that come to mind after doing business with Mary from Beach Real Estate. Ripped off, disgusted, dirty, spider /bug bitten and soggy.(We are still finding spiders and dead bugs in our luggage.) The thought that she can treat my mother(who is 73) the way she has just blows my mind. One thing I know well is that a client should be heard when they are bringing up reasonable issues with the transaction. In our case it was a spider and bug filled house that clearly had not been cleaned. Sorry, but a client is a client. It’s easy to discredit a clients issue by being unprofessional rather then trying to help. It’s easier to point the finger back at your client rather then fixing the issue at hand. How hard would it have been to send over a house cleaner? I bet we would have even paid for it, but not the case. The time we collectively spent cleaning this house was remarkable. From silverfish in the cabinets to ants and spiders crawling everywhere. To every dish needing to be washed(dead bugs in cups, food stuck to plates, greasy pans and much more). To the kitchen floor getting a major mop down because it was a disgusting mess. To water dripping directly on top of the main electrical circuit breaker from plumbing work that was clearly not to code. Overall the house was a mess and when my mother let Mary know she dismissed her and said«I’ll never rent to you again». As a landlord myself that is the last thing I want my agent doing. Banning a cash paying customers with very legit concerns that can easily and affordably be fixed. Again, how much can a cleaner cost? More then tossing away a paying client? Doubtful. Note to the owners, if you are going to charge 4k a week then please at least do the upfront work to make the unit presentable and professional. Don’t do short cut work arounds that create fire hazards, fall hazards(unsafe /cluttered stairways with trip hazards, no hand rails). Most of all, the unsanitary conditions for our children to sleep in, not cool. I have tenants, you must treat them professionally. Nutshell, you got your wish Mary, we will never do business with you again. Be carful what you ask for, you just might get it…
